He didn't re-record everything, although for the vocals there were a couple of instances where the master tapes were lost, so he had to redo them.
He definitely fucked around with the drums though. |
I think the drums sound pretty good on Rust In Peace Remastered. The singing doesn't bother me in Five Magics, but I think the original singing was much better on Take No Prisoners. I don't think Take No Prisoners gets the attention it deserves, it's as good as Holy Wars/Hangar 18 in my opinion. That video happy made was hillarious.

I didn't make it, I found it on Google videos.

Oh, I see. |
So is Megadeth broken up now? I don't know if Dave ever announced it.
|
No, Dave announced that they are continuing
|
Do you have a link or anything?
Things move to slowly in this thread, more people need to post. |

That's great news. I hope I'll be able to see Megadeth sometime in the future.
|
It's really just MegaDave, becaue he is the only original member, but I have a feeling that Megadeth's next album will be even better than the TSHF, because the Drover's write some awesome stuff in Eidolon, and apparently Dave is letting them have a lot of input into the music. MacDonough wasn't noticeable in Iced Earth save for a few licks here and there, because Schaffer is the head of that band and everything goes his way, so he kind of a pompous arrgoant jerk to his band members....well, at least that's what I've heard from the people who have worked with him, but I'm curious to see what MacDonough brings to the table as well.
I've seen them live twice since Megadeth reformed and as much as I like Dave I have to admit that he is the weak link of the band |

i second that (badly) |

I wouldn't say he's the weakest link, I'm sure he's still capable of writing brilliant music. |

I believe that he can still write great music and everything. It's just both times that I saw him live he played very sloppy and just wasn't "into it" |
When did you see them?
|
In September last year during the BTU Tour, and on Gigantour in July
|
He seemed pretty into it when I saw him on the BTU tour.
|
Gigantour Vancouver!:thumb:
wicked show.. so are they going to have another album? what I heard on much more music was that TSHF was going to be their last so that Dave could work on solo projects. |
He decided to keep Megadeth going instead.
|
He was definately into it at Download, I was in the front row getting crushed and I swears he looked at me for a millisecond  :D
|
That's funny man.
I hope to god they come back to Texas soon |
That's funny man.
Nah it's rather sad. |
Yea kinda when you think about it.
How is that DVD that cama out a while ago? |

Didn't they come out with a DVD sometime in the last year?
|
Didn't they come out with a DVD sometime in the last year?
You mean the one that came with the greatest hits CD? |
I think that's it.
I was at this party and these guys were playing it I didn't see much of it. I was with my gall all night |
It's only 'bout half an hour long, the music video of Kill The King is neat. The live songs are good but you cannot hear Marty's solos well (I couldn't hear them at all in In My Darkest hour).
|
Okay that's probably it. It didn't seem to last too long
Is it worth buying? I'm getting the tab book |
Okay that's probably it. It didn't seem to last too long
Is it worth buying? I'm getting the tab book
It's not really worth it but if you really want it get it. You could just wait for the Arsenal of Megadeth to come out, it's got all their music videos on it. |
When does that come out?
ahg I gotta go it's been happy |
When does that come out?
ahg I gotta go it's been happy
No idea, i'll try to find out, cya. |
ah i gotta get that. i need more deth in my life.

I have a feeling that dave may be able to rope Friedman and Ellefson back into Megadeth if he stops being so stingy with his money.
|
Eleffson is a long shot after the sueing but Friedman may be a possibility. And maybe Menza too.
|
Eleffson is a long shot after the sueing but Friedman may be a possibility. And maybe Menza too.
I still can't believe Eleffson sued him. What's the deal with Menza as of now? I heard Marty wanted more money than Dave was willing to pay. |
I think menza had a knee injury.
|
I'm not sure how Menza is in terms of speaking with Dave, but I think the knee injury guess is right. I'd have to look through megadeth.com but I'm pretty sure Menza couldn't tour for BTU because he had a knee injury of some sort.
I was watching VH1's Behind the Music and Dave said something to the effect of : "me and Nick weren't getting along towards the end of his stay in the band and it got to a point where he hated me, so I asked him to leave"...or something. I hope a RIP lineup reunion eventually happens. I think most people consider that lineup the Megadeth lineup. |
yeah I do. Nick had breakdowns too didn't he or was that Marty?
|
I'd imagine that Dave is hard to get alomg with.
I'll definatly be looking for that DVD |

I wouldn't exactly put it out of the realm of possibility for Marty to return, but I really doubt it because of the things Dave has said about him, and because he seems really happy in Japan. |
