Eliminator 11-29-2006 09:31 PM

Don't think he was talking to you man.

I have been awake for nearly thrity hours. My judgement is starting to become impaired. And its my birthday. Here's to another thirty hours...

Eliminator 11-30-2006 06:21 AM

Jizz!

Anyway, that happened to me yesterday. When you begin to lose the sense of reality, you really need to sleep.

Surf 11-30-2006 11:53 AM

Still haven't slept. I managed to get through a two hour seminar on Paradise Lost though. and just for old time's sake:

SINUOUS CUM

I'll refrain from doing any proper critting, because I'll probably be of little use :/

TojesDolan 11-30-2006 12:43 PM

I tried last night but programming just ate the crits.

pixiesfanyo 11-30-2006 12:54 PM

i can bend all of my toes individually.

Surf 11-30-2006 01:01 PM

That's the most impressive thing I've heard all day.

Are you self taught? or just descended from circus folk?

drumass04 11-30-2006 01:03 PM

I just tried...and I can't even bend my little toes...let alone all of them individually!!

Unless I'm allowed to use my fingers to push them!!

Captain_Fitzgerald 11-30-2006 01:05 PM

I'm really impressed with this board, and I've only been on for about a day. It really is a shame that the board is so slow. Regardless, this is one of my new favorite places on the internet.

By the way, please crit the two pieces I have here. The the first one is a thread, and the other one I posted in the "South" word challenge.

Thank you!

drumass04 11-30-2006 01:09 PM

The board is generally slow because most of the people are of school/college age. This means that during the day they often can't get on.

There is usually a 24hour coverage of the boards because there are several people in the UK, a majority in the States, and then a few from areas spaced in-between.

Also, if someone is going to critique you properly then it does take time. I spend anywhere from 1 minute to 90 minutes critiquing a piece of writing on here!

But yeah, you soon get addicted to this place. Then you'll lose inspiration and not come on for months, then you'll be back and posting like crazy!

Timmy

Captain_Fitzgerald 11-30-2006 01:13 PM

That's exactly how I was with the Coheed and Cambria message boards. I don't know if any of you are familar, but the Coheed and Cambria message boards aren't just forums, they're like a big family. Actually, a big BRUTAL family. They don't take kindly to people on even a SLIGHTLY lower intellectual level than themselves.

Yeah, I'm in school too. Luckily, I go to the easiest school on Earth so I have no problem getting on the computer during three or four hours of my day.

Anway, the piece I posted is short, but take all the crit time you need.

Surf 11-30-2006 01:24 PM

I'll get onto it soon, should probably sleep first.

But what other poets are you looking at in your class. Byron was a man's man. He was quite cool. Reminds me of Rochesters poetry, which, though it has its moments, seems to be an excuse for him to say cunt alot. Somne of his poems are quite good though.

pixiesfanyo 11-30-2006 01:53 PM

Coheed and Cambria fans can't be that intelligent.

drumass04 11-30-2006 01:55 PM

Byron is great, along with Elliot, Poe, Wordsworth, and Goodfellow. I love them!

To be honest, I generally like most of that 'era'. It's the same with music, I love the Romantic period. Classical and Romantic are great, not so keen on the Baroque period.

I'm very open minded about poetry. I'll read anything once!

Captain_Fitzgerald 11-30-2006 02:23 PM

Whoa guy. I don't know what I should be more upset about? You knocking Coheed or you knocking Coheed's fans. However, I'm open to intelligent opinion. What's the matter with Coheed?

pixiesfanyo 11-30-2006 02:23 PM

They're last two albums sucked.

Captain_Fitzgerald 11-30-2006 02:26 PM
They're last two albums sucked.
*their

And I was hoping for something deeper than that. I will say that nothing they've done yet can top Second Stage Turbine Blade, but In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth was very good. And although Good Apollo Volume One was much different and harder to get into than their previous two albums, it still stood strong as their least, but not last album.

Have you heard Claudio's side project, The Prize Fighter Inferno? It sheds more light on the entire Coheed storyline, telling it from the perspective of the main character's brother. It sounds very Postal Service influenced.

Eliminator 11-30-2006 03:33 PM

oh wow you corrected grammar bravo

TojesDolan 11-30-2006 03:50 PM

[QUOTEdrumass04]Byron is great, along with Elliot, Poe, Wordsworth, and Goodfellow.
They're too mainstream for my taste
slow forums, no crits yabadda yabadda
The thing is I read over the threads and most of them aren't even worth the struggle of the crit, and others are way out of my league. So if I have time I'll give yours a shot. And everyone pretty much. =/

Eliminator 11-30-2006 03:57 PM

i like how every retard, when asked about their favorite poet, automatically says poe

even though i like poe so i guess i shouldn't say that ior something

TojesDolan 11-30-2006 04:05 PM

Because american school system shoves Poe in kid's asss from day one, so let's call it stockholm syndrome for the sakes of it.

Eliminator 11-30-2006 04:06 PM

the school systems here haven't yet

anyway sylvia plath kicks everyone's ass anyway so whatever
