I really really like the sound of that ride, but cant try it anywhere in person

drummguy731 10-16-2006 04:07 PM

Yeah, I know how ya feel man, it's like an underground cymbal line.

al98 10-16-2006 04:14 PM

Ano its annoying, sadly there nothing you can do about it, its either go by sound files or go for a different ride

Inkstar 10-17-2006 05:06 AM

I'm looking for some cymbals that will match my playing style:

I'm really getting into prog rock/metal, so I guess I'll need some heavier cymbals. I play ALOT of Dream Theater, and at times that can be pretty brutal on the cymbals, so yeah.

But also, nothing thats TOO heavy/metallic, because I still like to play some jazzy music (I saw the K Custom Dry Light Ride today, and quickly played it - absolutely loved it, but it wouldn't match heavier music). I also play some metal/hardcore as well.

Avedis/A Custom

drummguy731 10-17-2006 03:34 PM

I'd go with A customs, maybe look into a K hybrid crash. But A customs are pretty sturdy, I mean, come on, look at the price

Drum Phil 10-17-2006 03:55 PM

I got to play a Hybrid crash today.

OMG!

Sex.

FL3P 10-17-2006 04:26 PM

I've got the 19" hybrid and it is indeed nice.

Drum Phil 10-17-2006 04:34 PM

FL3P 10-17-2006 04:38 PM

I was supposed to take some nice pics of the kit for about the last 6 months but I never did get that far haha.

MeaninglessPhoto 10-17-2006 05:08 PM

FL3P 10-17-2006 05:11 PM

The camera I have doesn't work very well which why it's taken so long. That and I'm lazy.

White Riot! 10-17-2006 07:35 PM

White Riot! 10-17-2006 08:18 PM

Australia - land of the pubs.

Whats your colonies tagline?

We_Love_Lime 10-17-2006 08:28 PM

USA - Land of the Free

That's all we could come up with.

drummguy731 10-17-2006 09:16 PM

Ireland, land of the sheep?

EDIT: Either way, post some dam pics

drummguy731 10-17-2006 09:37 PM

ok, I asked this a while back, but I'm doing it again with the hope someone may have had some experiance. I'm thinking of getting some 13" A custom top/Z dyno bottom hats, anyone had good/bad experiance with them. And to stop this from happening, no, I do not want new beats, I've tried them and IMO they sound waaaaay to washy, sorry all you new beat enthusiasts
Avedis/A Custom
A Custom are far more expensive, yeah?

Drum Phil 10-18-2006 06:13 AM

Not far more.

A touch more.

The store i use for cymbals says they're £10 more.

Inkstar 10-18-2006 06:15 AM

I dig. Danke Phil.

Seafroggys 10-18-2006 06:50 PM

The Avedis is much better!

Inkstar 10-19-2006 02:00 AM

A Custom seem far more thinner.

White Riot! 10-19-2006 06:28 AM

Cant say i like A's. Dull and Clangy comes to mind

Inkstar 10-19-2006 07:19 AM

Avedis, Riot? I agree. I love the New Beats, but the Medium Crashes are shocking. They're way too thick (medium? more like ultra 1000-page-book thick) and metallic imo. That's why I like some of the Custom's - they're thinner and faster.

Plan B. 10-19-2006 10:54 AM

I miss my 18" A Medium, I could play anything with it, had a great bell and a lovely varying response. Whatever you put in came out accordingly.
