Hoppus isn't my favourite bassist, his lines are a little simple, but still, yea, i've seen the flaming he gets in the bass forum and it is uncalled for

Untitled 09-18-2004 02:43 PM

Im sick of it. As soon as his names said theres a barage of insults, and it might be nothing to do with bass playing skills or anything in the thread.

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 09-18-2004 02:50 PM

He's not a good bassist but it's hard to be a suprememly talneted bassist and reveal it by playing the satandard pop-punk or punk songs. Matt Freeman is an exception but he gets flamed everywhere as well

Untitled 09-18-2004 02:52 PM

Yea, people say hes a good punk bassist and all of a sudden people start going "hes way to overrated, hes nothing compared to such n such a person" even though they didnt read PUNK bassist.

bobbass4k 09-18-2004 02:53 PM

Some of the dudes in the bass forum are just closed minded elitists, dudes who hate every bassist except themselves and maybe jaco, dudes who tyhink every bassist who doesnt play fingerstyle and a 6-string, and is in a band isn't a real bassist. The type of dudes who hate guitarists, simply coz they play guitar. I hate bassists like that. a lot of em are all right, like coffee, but some of them are just elitist ****heads

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 09-18-2004 02:54 PM

That's life though i suppose, you're always going to meet pricks, and there'll always be nice people to balacne it out :)

I am currently starting an argument with a prick who thinks the only good music is the stuff he listens to

bobbass4k 09-18-2004 02:56 PM

I hate dudes like that aswell, i used to be like that a few years ago, but now im more open minded. I may not like certain music, like hip-hop, but i can at least respect it

Untitled 09-18-2004 02:57 PM

I hate people like that, my guitarest is like that, if a song comes on 2 chords into the song he hates it, he wont listen to any indie and is in a pop-punk band yet dosnt understand thats whats were playing.

Best people on here are you guys, and people in the disscussion thread in pop punk, and i have hair in my mouth whilst i post and cant get it out cuase im typing :(

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 09-18-2004 03:00 PM

The worst thing is hair in the ears when you wake up, when my hair was longer i used to get that all the time.

And i hate metal, i don't really get it at all but i appreciate some of the guitar work is amazing etc.

Theres a thead in beginers in the bass, give it 10 minutes and youll get "only puffs wear there bass low" etc etc.

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 09-18-2004 03:06 PM

:(

I have my bass as low as possible, but i play with a pick. I find i can strum better and faster which is handy seeing as all i do really is play root notes very fast

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 09-18-2004 03:08 PM

I'm going to watch Parkinson now, it looks funny with Pinsent, Lenny Henry and Frank Skinner

Untitled 09-18-2004 03:08 PM

yea i find it easyier to play pick and finger real low. My straps an extra, extra long i think it said, if i had it on full itd be lower then my knees, literaly, so the straps on about half atm.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-18-2004 03:26 PM

Looking forward to their summer shows next year, better get tickets quickly though, they selling out fast when they released.

REM + Club's ground + me = Arr yeah

Untitled 09-18-2004 03:34 PM

Sweet, im hoping blink will play leads, theres a new album of theres coming out the end of next year, i beleave, which will be about right they tend to release albums 2 years apart.

*dances*

Adam Jones is GOD 09-18-2004 03:40 PM

Lucky sod, your fave bands write albums quicker than mine.

*is still waiting for new tool album

Untitled 09-18-2004 03:47 PM

? the last blink album started recording on january the 23rd ( im pretty sure it was that it was my birthday) and it got released mid november. I think there finished touring in january and going back into the sudio, but they hace a portable studio on tour with them :p

Adam Jones is GOD 09-18-2004 03:49 PM

Most bands seem to have that now, the whole studio with them at all times. Either that, or they record at the hose made famous by Incubus with their last album (deftones recordered there for new album, Woo hoo!)

Tool's last album was so long ago now, new one supposed to be out start of next year, still too long to wait

Untitled 09-18-2004 03:57 PM

whats worse is when people take back there relase date, like Blink182 and halo2  just pray that dosnt happen to you.

jcxstargazer 09-18-2004 03:59 PM

n00b you could at least make a subject to talk about, this one about albums seems to be dieing out a little (i think)

jcxstargazer 09-18-2004 04:03 PM

this is me, signing out, good night and god bless

p.s still ignore me

Adam Jones is GOD 09-18-2004 04:04 PM

Yeah, its dying out, I ran out of facts.

I miss qwacky, hows that for a topic?

bobbass4k 09-18-2004 04:04 PM

yea, when was Tool's last album? the Industrial revolution?
Keenan may be a genius, but he shouldnt expect everyone to wait forever for the new album, otherwise when it does finally come out, everyone will scrutinize it maticulously, and it'll get bad reviews, it's already happened to Green Day.

On an earlier topic coz i wasnt here, i wear my bass pretty low, around waist height, its just more comfortable for me, if i have to tap or anything or play past 17'th fret i have to have it higher, but waist high normally, makes a good sheild too incase anyone throws anything at you in a delicate place :naughty:
