What's the point? That's not the purpose of that forum.

Because it's too annoying to have people think that's what pop-punk is. There are people that post in there that know what pop-punk is and it's good to talk pop-punk.

anyway, you know what lots of pop-punk discussions end up like in here. NOFX and Rancid threads become spam, Alkaline Trio threads get moved instantly, as do offspring ones etc. The only pop-punk bands that ever really get any success in here are the adicts and Bouncing Souls

NOFX and Rancid get spammed because we have a thread on them every week. I don't move Alkaline Trio threads. Joe has got it right though, Pop-Punk was created because we don't want GC and Blink threads in here and it caused a war about it. Any half-decent pop-punk band there is, is discussed here. They can have their crappy power-pop and pop-rock over there. The best thing you can do is ask an admin to change the name to include pop-rock, or to rename it completly if it bugs you so much. Who knows DBJ or J might be willing to do it.

you can have much better nofx and rancid discussions in the pop-punk forum though, although i suppose that isn't the main point. Still would be nice to get that forum working properly.

And i doubt they'd change the name, there's been call for much less improtant things than that and they've not done anything (not calling them bad admin's, i'm just saying). And especially on behalf of one person

What you have to do, James, is just take a deep breath and realise that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, the same with you can provide the information but you can't make them learn. People will not change their idea of pop-punk if they are set on the idea that what they discuss in there is actual pop-punk.

I say we ban that entire forum.

I know, i'm not trying to prove anything here. discussions like this move on too quickly and people come away with the wrong idea of what people are trying to say.

Basically here is how i see it: The forum's title is Pop-punk. Therefore, whether it is supposed to be for pop-punk discussion or not, you'd expect to get a few people
going in to talk about pop-punk but that doesn't happen. And that's the end of it as far as i'm concerned.

I'm really not too bothered with these discussions, i think too often people come away with the wrong idea and the whole situation ends up getting blown out of proportion.

The punk forum is in the best shape it's been in for months and now you can properly talk about most bands in here, and that's why i joined the forum in the first place

Power Pop Forum with Pop punk sub.. Would be best, If you didnt have Powerpopers that thought they were poppunkers.
