I listened to them when it was rec'd to me like 5 months ago. I just started to like them more recently maaan. And I listen to a lot of music Justin hates tbh, pretty sure all he listens to is black metal, hardcore, and metalcore.

w/e son

was listening to the tropic rot earlier. Better than I give it credit for when it first came out.

They'll never top The Opposite of December. I didn't like The Tropic Rot that much.

2muchket! 06-07-2010 03:12 PM

YCBY is better than the Opposite of December.

Still has a place in my heart for getting me into metalcore about 4/5 years ago though.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:13 PM

Tropic Rot is awesome. Especially Jeffrey's vocal performance. Definitely his best skramming thus far.

2muchket! 06-07-2010 03:15 PM

Yeah def man. Probably ranks as my 3rd favourite ptw album, probably tied with The Opposite of December.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:16 PM

You Come Before You is def their best tbh.

It goes YCBY > Tear From The Red > Opposite Of December in my book.

Tear From The Red is up there for me as one of those albums that really got me into metalcore.

Along with The Oncoming Storm, The Changing Of Times, Alive Or Just Breathing, Waking The Fallen, Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses, etc.

SlightlyEpic 06-07-2010 03:18 PM

Poison the Well were the first metalcore band i listened to on this sampler thing

I remember not really liking them at the time though :x

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:20 PM

You faggort.

Norma Jean was one of the first metalcore bands I listened to, and I couldn't stand them, I think listening to Converge, The Number 12, and Botch made me realize how elite dissonance is, and that was like a year into my metalcore listening days.

I don't think I got into Norma Jean until like junior year of hs actually.

Endangered Oddity 06-07-2010 03:20 PM

The Tropic Rot is tied with YCBY for my second favorite cd.I just have too much love for The Opposite of December.

2muchket! 06-07-2010 03:20 PM

Never really liked Tear from The Red. Haven't listened to it in a long time though.

Albums that got me into metalcore are probably The Opposite of December, Alive or Just Breathing, Jane Doe, Frail Words Collapse, Nightmares and In the Library of Horrific Events.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:22 PM

You need to understand that the songs Botchla and Parks And What You Meant To Me = me and my buddy Vince crying over little girls in and smoking bowls in HS.

Endangered Oddity 06-07-2010 03:23 PM

I never got into the I/II/III splits or Versions.

2muchket! 06-07-2010 03:23 PM

Yeah I get that man ahaha.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:25 PM

Those took me a year of off and on listening to click, but they're actually very good.

Just not nearly as good as the 2006 demo record.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:29 PM

That's the first metalcore song I ever learned on guitar. :)

SlightlyEpic 06-07-2010 03:31 PM

I can't even remember how it goes, I should listen to Tear From The Red again
