I seen that Bob Dylan thing too. I thought it was pretty good.
I really thought it was intresting how they got the organ in "Like A Rolling Stone" |

I really thought it was intresting how they got the organ in "Like A Rolling Stone"
Yea, I can't imagine that song without the organ. I mean, Bob Dylan really owes Al Kooper. Dylan's singing and lyrics in that song are great, but the organ intro makes that song magical IMO. Actually, the organ is really important to that whole album. I can't imagine a couple other songs on that album without organ. The album wouldn't have been nearly as good without Kooper's organ playing IMO. |
Didn't they also say Like A Rolling Stone originally had like 50 verses or so?
That's insane. *EDIT* I want to get a keyboard just so I can play "Glad" |

That's insane. *EDIT* I want to get a keyboard just so I can play "Glad"
I think I heard that it had something like 50 verses too. In Chronicles, Dylan mentions that it wasn't unusual for his songs to have 20 verses or so before he started cutting them down. np- Glad  The saxaphone in Glad is so amazing. I bought John Barleycorn Must Die last Monday. It's awesome :D |
Yeah, Tangled Up In Blue has 7 verses. But he sings rather fast in that song.
I've never rated Cornell, but I agree completely on Michael and Jeffrey. And Butch Walker
ah, you should pay attention to cornell's voice in soundgarden, temple of the dog, and his solo work. his range and powere are unbelievable. and his solo album shows how versatile he can be. whos butch walker? |

I wonder how many verses It's Alright Ma (I'm only Bleeding) started off with. I'm pretty sure the released version has 15 verses. One hell of a song. Does anyone know how to actually play it the right way on guitar? I can't figure it out, it's basically the same thing over and over again (heh heh...what more can you expect from Dylan) with a couple chord changes during certain lines. I can never get it sounding right though, and I've looked at so many different tabs and obviously everyone can't get it perfect either. I want nothing more in my life right now than to be able to play that song and sing it. |
desolation row has 12. i think that song is his finest lyrical work, though its alright ma (im only bleeding), is awesome too.

I'm pretty sure It's Alright Ma (I'm only Bleeding) is capo-ed up.

It's Alright Ma (Im Only Bleeding) > Desolation Row After about a half of a year I have yet to get into Big Pink by the Band. It's just boring, their vocals aren't very good and the organ's annoying as hell. I just can't get into it and I've tried several times now. Although "The Weight" is one of the greatest songs ever; that's not a good enough reason to buy the actual album. Very disappointing.... |

I'm ripping The Times They Are A-Changin' right now, although my CD Ripper has never actually worked for me, it always screws up half way through. I have a good feeling about today though, my speakers started working (and msn didnt' work, but now its working again) so maybe my computer finally fixed whatever was wrong with itself. |
I'm uploading lots of early Dylan, I'm goin' s/t to Desire, but I don't Self Portrait, Dylan or the GH.
|
Live/Dead and Dylan's s/t would make my day
I've only heard "One more Cup of Coffee" from Desire, is the rest like that song? |

Are you gonna do The Times They Are A-Changin'? I ripped it onto my computer and stuck it in a Zip file, but there's something not right with (I won't explain what)...I could probably figure out how to fix it, but if you are already uploading it maybe I won't bother. I just feel bad because I never upload anything for anyone. I think lyrically, The Times They Are A-Changin' is Dylans best album, although it's probably his least "commercial" album in terms of the actual music. It's not a very upbeat album I'll say that much, but I like listening to it. It's his definitely peak of "topical" songwriting. |

I love Desire, "Black Diamond Bay" is in my top 5 of Dylan songs, along with "Hurricane". "Mozambique" is a nice little ditty too.
