Exactly.

I could very easily recount the dozens of internet stories I've heard, but I'm just speaking from what's happened to people that I know personally.
I still don't care. Until I experience it first hand, it won't mean anything to me. I love this band.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-15-2006 09:53 PM

We're not saying anything about the quality of the music. It is possible for assholes to make good music, but they still may be assholes.

Special Brew 06-15-2006 09:54 PM
Ask around if you think its a vast MX conspiracy to bring down SYG, you ****ing douche truck. You'll get the same answers.

Oh I forgot, you live in Kentucky.
Good job at taking things way out of context.

See, he's got the idea.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-15-2006 09:58 PM

Did you experience the holocaust first hand? Do you still support Hitler?

Rediculous analogy yes, and I am still hypocritical in my liking of SYG, however I just dont think your logic is very good.

I still personally love their music but I'm not retarded enough to let that have any impact on how I feel about them as people. If you want to play the "If I don't see it than it doesn't exist" game that's cool too I guess.

I might put them on my iPod every now and then but I'm not planning on throwing any money at them any time soon.

well historians are more reliable then message board posters.

but yeah i agree, they either are jerks or they aren't

and apparently they are

Having some backwards *** logic which says "good music = good people" despite overwhelming evidence which points to the contrary? You two can keep that ****ed up mindset. If we were talking about From First to Last or some band like that, you guys would be all about bringing the hate.

BuddyBigsby 06-15-2006 10:03 PM

You know you guys can also come out and say

"Yeah, they sound like jerks but I'm still going to support them because I like their music."

Slightly less douchebaggy. Just sayin'.

How so? I experienced it first hand, most historians didnt.

BuddyBigsby 06-15-2006 10:08 PM

We're going to need to call in a cropduster loaded with baby powder to cure all the butthurt coming out of this forum.

I never even implied that. I'm just saying that taking the word of some kid on the internet for truth, without experiencing it for yourself is rediculous. And some of the posters here are just going to jump on the bandwagon and believe every word of it, without making the decision for themselves if they got the chance.

The guys may be jerks, but as far as I'm concerned, they aren't, simply because there's nothing concrete enough to make me talk shit about someone like that.

Are you just fucking retarded or what?

BuddyBigsby 06-15-2006 10:26 PM

I see what you're saying and that's a fair assessment for the most part...

But on the same token, the people on this board that have been saying things about SYG are halfway between regular message board posters and people I know personally, at least for me. I mean I think I know enough about Pat and Kasey to know they're not pulling **** out of their ***.

The fact is that I've met them and they were really nice guys. Before you say "you probably only talked to them for 2 minutes"; consider this: I interviewed the bassist of Fall Out Boy (Pete Wentz) a year and a half ago, and while he was nice to me, I will believe almost anything I read about him on the internet because I could tell that he was pretty self absorbed, and you can sense it in his stage presence and every article/interview you read with him. I can't sense any of that in SYG, for example. Maybe I'm blinded by the fact that I love them, but whatever. That is my logic. Most of the time, I'm not inclined to believe internet rumors until they are backed up or I've seen proof of it myself. Sorry.

EDIT: Another example- while I love Tom Capone's guitar playing and every band he's been in, I can believe everything I read and hear about him. One I walked by him at CBs and I caught part of his conversation on the phone; it went something like "But how much is Bold going to get paid?" Bold is one of my favorite bands, so this isn't so much of a statement about them as it is Tom Capone.

No, it didn't change a thing. You've become even more of a faggot lately. At least you could admit you didn't know **** a month and a half ago.

Do you think the guy from fall out boy was that arrogant a few years before you interviewed him? You clearly have no understanding of human behavior.

You also must not understand what a rumor is. I was there when my friend was talking to him. I was the one emailing him. This is first hand recollection, NOT some internet rumor.

Keep loving them. I don't care, but quit acting like because you love his band, or because you hung out for 20 minutes that you have a better understanding of his character than people who have experienced him being a douche bag first hand.

When ruiner played provo, they stayed in my friends apartment, so I was able to hang out there with them. everyone was cool, except rob was really moody, and being kindof disrespectful. I still love ruiner.

You have so much sand in your vag tonight.

The only point I'm going to address is the Fall Out Boy one: even a year and a half ago he was that arrogant. Also one more thing: if you don't care, then why respond?

Stupid argument on a stupid messageboard. Not worth my time.

kaseytheawesome 06-15-2006 11:08 PM

my not caring had nothing to do with you needing your proof to see if it wasn't all just internet libel.

did you not understand my point about fall out boy? they were big a year and a half ago

young, loud, and andrew 06-15-2006 11:12 PM

Whoops, misread it.

hahaha, yeah.

Ruiner stayed at my friend's apartment, and I guess their morning conversation went something like this

My friend making breakfast: "Hey man"
Rob on Myspace: "Hi."
Friend: "Whats up?"
Rob: "Nothing."
Friend: "So how's tour going?"
Rob: "good."
"...."
