Maybe because the site is being really slow and retarded.

It's hard modding punks like you when it takes 20 minutes to close a thread. :(

Fish 12-08-2005 07:56 PM

I've been trying to get on here all night! :(

It's actually running faster now than it has in probably 24 hours...

Hehe, well it's not like I have any threads worthy of closing O:-)

Fish 12-08-2005 08:01 PM

brandon and matt, we beat bowmanville today 76 - 34 :p

Pazz 12-08-2005 08:04 PM

Hey, good evening guys.

That's sweet Fish (forgets your ream name:upset:). Finally the site is going a good speed.

Permanent Solution 12-08-2005 08:06 PM

Yeah, the site isn't toally lagging out, hurrah, since my roomie is being a jackass again and sleeping when I want to play guitar.

Gnarmageddon 12-08-2005 08:06 PM

I'm starting to get sick. :-/

And it's snowing like crazy right now.

I've been sick since before Thanksgiving break :-\

I'm slowly getting better though, so hopefully I'm good by the time I'm home. Don't wanna get the gf sick too :-\

No snow here in AZ :(

NP: Rhapsody

CommieCanada 12-08-2005 08:09 PM

i uploaded a song that i made. check it out and give me some feedback

http://s65.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0QMAZ44VU5Q060O2Y4RSFJNTOS

i should note that its just some basic electronica stuff

Pazz 12-08-2005 08:10 PM

I was sick late last week to early this week. I'm finally better. Also, still no snow here in Bowmanville. I was expecting to have lots by now.

PDWAB 12-08-2005 08:11 PM

Hey Vince I listened to some Opeth and Blind Guardian and Dark Tranquility today and man that stuff is so cool. I think I might go metal when I get sick of jazz!

No snow in Seattle either :(

And also kudos to me for finishing my homework before 6 o clock! Now I can have a guilt-free evening, huzzah!

Pazz 12-08-2005 08:12 PM

I did all my homework before 6:p. I thought it was going to take like 3 hours, turns out it wasn't as big as I thought and it barely took me an hour.

PDWAB 12-08-2005 08:14 PM
I did all my homework before 6:p. I thought it was going to take like 3 hours, turns out it wasn't as big as I thought and it barely took me an hour.
Well usually I don't even get home before 8, so this was a big accomplishment for me.

Pazz 12-08-2005 08:16 PM

Haha, well I'm a good little boy and usually do my homework when I get home from school, or Brandon's house.:p

I approve of all of those choices. Good work my friend. If you dig Acoustic music, Opeth's Damnation is a must listen for you. It's almost totally acoustic and really different but fantastic still. For Blind Guardian listen to some Rhapsody, Stratovarius, and (if you can stomach the cheesiness) Dragonforce. Dark Tranquility is good too though I'm not as familiar with them as the others, but Arsis would be another band you might branch into from there easily and if you can deal with less melody I'll recommend Nile as well. I love Metal, but I can't listen to much Jazz. There are a few bands who fuse Jazz and Metal really well too if you're interested.

Finished homework? It isn't finals yet?

Heh yeah. I was bored today so I made a thread TE asking people to find stuff I wouldn't like. They all failed!

I have a final Saturday in Italian and my History of Jazz one is Monday. I should probably start studying for them soon.

So, I go away for a day and we have one page of additional posts. Either everyone has died, or MX has gone mental.

As a bonus fun point, I think I am in the middle of something of a pit of alcoholism this week. Check out what I've done, and will be doing, this week:

Monday: Cheap beer night at the pub, so I finish work at 9pm-ish, and drink heavily until close. After this, continue drinking by virtue of leaving money behind the bar, including at least 2 double whiskies.

Tuesday: Go to work hungover, and finish at about 9.30pm. Immediately buy lager and commence drinking. This continues until arrival at Ziggy's in town about 11.30, at which point turbo shandy (lager, K2 Ice, and vodka) drinking begins.

Wednesday: Go to work hungover. Finish at 6pm, and immediately require a lager to combat hangover. Drink for a while in pub, and then go to friend's house to watch football and assist with drinking of crate of Grolsch. Afterwards, head to other pub, and end night sat at end of bar drinking Stella and staring lecherously at barmaid. Then go home and finish half bottle of red wine.

Thursday: Go to work grotesquely hungover. Finish at 6pm, and immediately order 4 pint pitcher of beer. Drink in one hour. Order another. Drink. Stagger home. Drink random bottles of Grolsch found in fridge.

To make stuff worse, it's not over. Tomorrow is a full day (well, from 2pm) in Leeds, drinking. And Saturday is work until 5pm (no doubt feeling crappy), and then a friend's birthday night out. And guess what that will mean.

Just reading all that should be harrowing enough. I worry about myself.

Wormed. And if you like it for any reason than the hilarity of it you should be shot for being too open-minded :p

Nahhh, studying is overrated (see: my pit thread).

Andy: I would but I'm in the computer lab cuz my comp broke :-\

PDWAB 12-08-2005 08:22 PM

James I feel a little hungover just reading that.

Vince: Wormed? Can you YSI it?

Oh! I only have Damnation and I thought that's how Opeth always sounded.

PDWAB 12-08-2005 08:26 PM

Hahahaha

No.

Opeth is more Progressive Black/Death Metal sounding on every other album. The same level of musicianship but with lots of distortion and a lot faster. And with lots of growling.

Nice, very nice.

billiejoe84 12-08-2005 08:30 PM

Andy's song is cool. Not really my kinda thing, but I can still appreciate it. I reckon my band's bassist would like it a lot. He's a DJ and plays that kinda music.

Good to hear. You haven't missed much. Chad went wild and throw all teh threads into random places. So, the mods were having a hell of a time. All today MX has been pretty slow and not much activity.

Hmm, I've not heard them all, but Deliverance is considered their heaviest (not necessarily best though). Still Life and Blackwater Park are both good starting points I'd think.

ZaaR 12-08-2005 08:34 PM

Anyone like Sigur Ros?

Sounds good. When I downloaded Damnation I was expecting the more Death Metal/Progressive kind of sound. I was surprised when I heard it but I still think it's pretty good.

Yeah, it's a really great album imo. I think the fact they could do something like that and be a Metal band made me respect them a lot more.

Damnation = my favourite Opeth album

Although, to be fair, I know little else of their stuff. To be honest, I've heard few more depressing songs than some of the ones on Damnation. It's incredible.
