So me and my girl just had a fight...this sucks. Now I'm talkin' to her on the phone and it's been nothin' but like silence for the past 10 minutes or so...with an awkward "yeah" in between...

This really sucks.

Awkward phone silence has to be the most uncomfortable situation I've ever experienced.

Shred Danson 11-24-2005 09:57 PM

It's Emperor.

/spelling nazi.
Awkward phone silence has to be the most uncomfortable situation I've ever experienced.
It is terrible...just got off the phone, and she was like "I'm gonna call you back" and I said "ok, whatever, fine"...then we hung up...

I feel horrible right now.
I've lived there too, and as far as a delightful city goes Chicago certainly has New York beat.

I just love the amalgamation of culture in New York.
When did you live in Chicago? And I think that being a delightful city takes precedence over the amalgamation of culture, but that's just me :p

I hate that. I will either apologise, ask to ring her back in a few minutes, or start talking about something off-topic.
I hate that. I will either apologise, ask to ring her back in a few minutes, or start talking about something off-topic.
I usually sit there with the occasional "yeah" to break the silence until I start a conversation about something completely meaningless.

Then again, I suck at phone conversations.

Shred Danson 11-24-2005 10:14 PM

One thing I hate about girls is that they never say what they want to say, at least to me...I hate this:

Me: What's wrong?
Her: (pouty face) Oh nothing
Me: Are you sure?
Her: yeah, I'm OK

It's like, what do they have to hide? Why be afraid to tell what's on your mind?

Sorry, I'm just ranting and venting frustration on here...and I would rather do that on stage like I usually do, but my band's next gig (this saturday) has been cancelled so that further expands my frustration...

What is the fight over?

Shadows 11-24-2005 10:17 PM

You rant on stage? You take pouring your emotions into your music to the next level.

Kurtz 11-24-2005 10:22 PM

Now Jason, what's the best city in Australia, besides Sydney?

///

And even though both cities are great, New York > Chicago. I don't know, New York just has something to it that no other city in America has. I can't really put it into words though.

I may be biased though, it's practically my second home if I ever had one.

Oh, and no matter how preppy some of the East Coast may be, it beats the West Coast any given day.

No, I'm just a really intense guitarist live...When I go onstage and play my music I just let everything go and metaphorically speaking, let my rage show...I rarely do vocals, I just let the music do the talking...

If any of that makes any sense please let me know.

It makes perfect sense to me (not sarcasm).

What genre does your band play?

Whenever I hit a break in the conversation, I say something like "Well, I better let you go now, talk to you later."

Screw long silences. :p

I <3 that my friend. I love metal that fuses various styles.

I guess you could call us post-thrash since we're not entirely a thrash band..but yeah, we just take all the metal we love and use those inflences wisely :p ...while NOT sounding "-core"ish

RouteOne 11-24-2005 10:59 PM

Hmmm, this might be asking too much but, I'm looking for some metal that has a lot of philosophical meaning behind their songs.

Any suggestions?

Shadows 11-24-2005 11:01 PM

Behemoth springs to mind, but I have a feeling they're not quite what you're looking for.

I like that even more. :) I love any type of metal but -core stuff seems to kill it for me.

You need to check out Age of Silence then.

Try more of them then. Their vocalist/guitarist Nergal is the sort of guy that has a lot depth and puts a lot meaning into everything he does. Every song and album has hand-written notes by him decribing it and explaining what he wanted to do and what it means to him.

NICE. I like what I'm hearing.

Shadows 11-24-2005 11:35 PM

Aww, that was cute.

Yet strangely disturbing. I'm glad for the baby's sake that you weren't armed.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-24-2005 11:39 PM

What do they call that baby?

Shadows 11-24-2005 11:42 PM

They call it Carnac: Destroyer of Dimensions and Pillager of the Pure.

Shadows 11-24-2005 11:46 PM

I was close.

Im going to name my son/daughter that someday.

I can imagine the response his/her pre-school teacher will have.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-24-2005 11:49 PM

Whoa, you were pretty close, man.

FYI, I actually lawled upon reading that.

Madey- Hawt.

I'm out for the night guys. See you all tomorrow. Of course, only when I get back from snowboarding.
