yeah more americanized but still great.

Metallion#666 10-09-2005 03:59 PM

Skandanavian people kick a s s, thats why Alexi laiho is so cool.

MRDuCran 10-09-2005 04:02 PM

And Meshuggah.

Metallion#666 10-09-2005 04:03 PM

Meshugghah est awesome-o

yea I know :)

IheartSP 10-09-2005 04:06 PM

Thus, that's also why dest. Choas is so cool.

Leper Affinity 10-09-2005 04:06 PM

I dislike Meshuggah.

IheartSP 10-09-2005 04:07 PM

I don't like them either, I can't get into anything that isn't melodic, I don't know what else there is to music.

dest. Chaos 10-09-2005 04:08 PM
It is if you know a guy who can send you the full version with registration key over the internet.
I have the full version with reg key :) . But Powertab is much better. Mainly cos the tabs are generally better. And Powertab doesn't **** up as much as Guitar Pro and it is easier to use imo...

Leper Affinity 10-09-2005 04:08 PM

It's the opposite for me. Powertab is always fucking up for me, but GP has always worked perfectly.

I think they try waaaaaaay to hard to be progressive, and consequently, their songwriting suffers. I tried listening to "I", but after they repeated the same intro riff for about 5 minutes I couldn't take it anymore. They bore the living hell out of me, like most other progressive bands I know.

IheartSP 10-09-2005 04:09 PM

I prefer GP by a lot to powertab. It seems that most gps are right but there are some bands where like none of them are. I've seen just as many bad pt's tho. I like the drums and keyboard, plus the ease of scrolling between tracks, muting tracks, etc. Also, without the fretboard+scale option I'd die.

dest. Chaos 10-09-2005 04:10 PM
I thought that he confessed to killing them and stuff
nooo... he has denied all the time.

yes Guitar Pro has more functions but I have no need for them . at all. and now this is a fact: PowerTab owns for printing stuff. and a question: Can you watch all the instruments at the same time in Guitar Pro?

the only thing i have against gp is that sometimes like voodoo child tab sounds completly off. but so dont pt i also find pt easier to read.

I wouldn't judge them by "I". Try Soul Burn, New Millenium Cyanide Christ, Neurotica, Spasm.

Leper Affinity 10-09-2005 04:17 PM

Perhaps I will, although Contridictions Collapse & None didn't impress me either.
and a question: Can you watch all the instruments at the same time in Guitar Pro?
Right. Because if I'm trying to learn the guitar parts, watching the drums and bass at the same time is absolutely essential.

I havent' got any of their albums so I wouldn't know which songs are from where but i'll understand if you hate them, I did a few months ago.

well I ment all the guitars...can you do that?
well I ment all the guitars...can you do that?
No, but why would you want to? Do you seriously think anyone's going to read and play both guitar parts simultaneously?

By the way, what country are you from? Just a random thought...

Sweden..I just find it much easier to see both guitars at the same time so I can pick the hardest stuff all the time :)
Sweden..I just find it much easier to see both guitars at the same time so I can pick the hardest stuff all the time :)
Hahaha, I usually do the same thing. I play the stuff that stand out the most instead of sticking with one guitar.

Sweden is what I thought. Cool++ for Scandinavia. Is it cold up there right now?

/is pretty cold down here

Metallion#666 10-09-2005 05:05 PM

Same for me. The hard/technical stuff is almost always more fun.

By the way, what guitars do you guys have?

Shadows Within 10-09-2005 05:23 PM

crap pretty much since im left handed...i got an ibanez grx20 and an epiphone les paul (but i really dont like the feel of my les paul)

/very late Meshuggah post

I don't really like them, but I respect them highly. Their rhythm work is just amazing.

And

I have a BC Rich Warlock and an Ibanez Rg770.

the-ben 10-09-2005 06:49 PM

I just finally checked them out, my favorite song has to be Follow The Reaper, I haven't heard much of them, but they are amazing, they have th hardcore sound, but the musical style of Dream Theater, which I like :).

Its always cool to see more new Bodom fans. However, they are not hardcore, they are power metal with harsh vocals. The vocals kind of make them appear hardcore.

MRDuCran 10-09-2005 06:56 PM

Do any of you guys know about www.guitarbt.com?? It's just been updated with a fukk load of Bodom backing tracks. They're all too fast but I spose it doesn't matter THAT much.

GenuineImitation 10-09-2005 07:32 PM

Did CoB make any music videos?

Apocalyptic Raids 10-09-2005 07:47 PM

I think they have. I'm not sure what songs though.

IheartSP 10-09-2005 07:48 PM

I don't know all of them, but they have done Downfall, Everytime I Die, Needled 24/7, and Trashed, Lost & Strungout.

Shadows Within 10-09-2005 08:03 PM

needled 24/7, sixpounder, every time i die, downfall, in your face and trashed lost and strungout

Leper Affinity 10-09-2005 08:10 PM

Deadnight Warrior, Downfall, Everytime I Die, Needled 24/7, Sixpounder, Trashed Lost & Strungout, In Your Face. I'm pretty sure that's all of them.

I just finished my Metal Gear Solid Skateboarding Remix tab and its 99% perfect if anyone wants to see it just ask.

This is kind of a late response but...

The intro to I lets you do what your suppose to easier: lose yourself in the polyrhythms and complexity. You kind of zone out while listening to that riff, and then the actual song hits.

Technical does not mean progressive by the way. I wouldn't call Meshuggah progressive.
