Ok, does anyone else know if Maynard helps out with the MUSIC (as in melody stuff, instruments, not singing) or anything like that? Because everyone says Maynard is a genius, I admit he writes very good lyrics and they have pretty deep meaning in them. But I was thinking that he would do something else in the band in order to be called a "genius" from so many people.

I'm not very educated on Tool, I just know/love the music a whole lot :thumb:

Hmm. I'm not too sure. Someone else can help you out on this but I think he does some guitar stuff here and there...or is it bass? Not sure. But I know he does do some other stuff besides only writing lyrics. LIke I said, I'm sure someone else can help you alot more on this subject.

He does help with song writing, but more so on the older albums and live he plays any extra instruments thats are needed.

I don't know about that, because of thats true, where did the brain come from from lateralus' artwork?

He writes a few of the riffs for some songs. No idea which ones but its been state din many interviews with the band that they all get invovled in most aspcts of each song.

And he does break out the ol' headless guitar live now and then too

I have pictures to prove it. Plus its on a few bootleg videos. And im pretty sure he play sit with APC for The Noose too, though since he did his infamous back-to-crowd trick when I saw them, i cant really tell if it was the headless or not.

i've seen maynard play bass and guitar. and something else during one song. ****, i cant think of which one it was. someone help, it was the last tour with tool. He played bass on triad, and guitar? on one other song.
but with the noose, i have aMOTION and he does play guitar. that live noose video is amazing btw. i highly suggest you pick it up.

The current website never got fully completed. And Kabir's site has been in redesign forever. So im not sure if to be postive over this or not
