Trout Mask Replica

Robert Crumb 07-08-2005 04:43 PM

Today has been a Rita Lee, Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, Beach Boy day.

Parfait 07-08-2005 05:00 PM

Speaking of Talking Heads: I just finally watched Stop Making Sense last night. I have no idea why it took me so long, considering they're practically my favorite band. The film is unbelievable.

Bartender 07-08-2005 06:47 PM

Since you're all already talking about Talking Heads, I may as well join in. Why is the live album (The Name of This Band is Talking Heads) always seem to be so expensive? Along with The Wall, it's the album I most often see, seemingly without reason, overpriced.

Iai 07-08-2005 06:50 PM

Don't forget The White Album and Bitches Brew for that category.

Bartender 07-08-2005 06:53 PM

Oh yeah, Bitches Brew. To be honest I've never attempted to buy the White Album before though, so I haven't noticed that one.
Danzig I (or the self titled one, whatever)
I don't think I've ever heard any Danzig songs that weren't from that album, but I can't put it down.
Yeah it's a killer album.

I haven't been listening to any particular artists recently, just random in iTunes.

Songs which stand at as being fantastic are;

Drug Ballad - Eminem
Choir Theme - Metal Gear Solid
Tiger of San Pedro - John La Barbera

EDIT: I lie, I have been mostly listening to In Flames and Undercurrent from Bill Evans and Jim Hall.

Hot Snakes concert.

Never ever again will I witness a band like this. The world sucks, but there's always CD's or whatever. I met speedo, he's nice etc..

Care.

br3ad_man 07-08-2005 07:39 PM

Have you been drinking?

Tangy zizzle 07-08-2005 07:42 PM

Just water with electrolyte constituents in it. Dehydration's a drag.

br3ad_man 07-08-2005 07:48 PM

It is indeed.

I got it for liek 20USD. Quite agreeable, I'd say.

And it's worth at least 40USD, so just cough it up.

br3ad_man 07-09-2005 01:16 AM

So I should have bought it when it was on sale for $16 AU?

Parfait 07-09-2005 01:24 AM

Yes, buy buy buy.

I never noticed the "liek" in that post. Ick.

br3ad_man 07-09-2005 01:30 AM

What a shame it's gone up to $35. I don't have that much money so I'll have to wait until it goes on sale again or I see it on ebay.

EDIT: Stop Making Sense is $20 though. *strokes chin*

Been digging mainly Beatles, country music, and 80s pop this week. Also Kylie Minogue and Annie.

And today I've been using my ears to listen to the Cocteau Twins.
lame intro.
meh..it was pretty good but I'm guessing there are better albums. What would you consider their best?

Iai 07-09-2005 04:15 PM

The Magic Numbers - s/t
Scrawl - Velvet Hammer

Thinking of reviewing both.
