I've only heard Battling The Misery Of Organon and I thought it was pretty crappy. Yeah! I've wondered where she disappeared to aswell....wasn't she our only active Female member of this thread? god knows I've not seen any other chicks round here.

JMetallica 12-30-2004 05:39 AM

She was indeed. And God no, neither have I. Although, if the theory of the internet is correct, myself, you every other guy and girl is an overweight, middle aged, man called Frank. So does it matter? Does it really matter?

NP: Accept - Losing More Than You Ever Had in memory of GPB. Haha.... Or not?

This quote sums it up

Welcome to the internet where the men are men, the women are men, and the little girls are FBI agents

I've noticed a few members don't post here much anymore too.

My Soulseek is Persecution Mania

I'm too lazy to quote everything so I'll just reply in chronological order:

I've been meaning to check out Watchtower for a while.

My slsk is Lord Dargon.

PSYCROPTIC ARE FRIGGIN' AWESOME

Yes, lots of the old members have left us. I think some of the new ones are more knowledgable though, so :D

And I think the correct quote is:
"On the internet, 9 out of every 10 people are men. The 10th is a man pretending to be a 14-year-old girl."

DisposableHeroes 12-30-2004 08:28 AM

does anyone know what the hell Dark Angel are up to now? I know they recorded the Creeping Death cover but thats all i've heard from them recently

LordDargon 12-30-2004 09:26 AM

You can only see stuff in the News section of their site (www.darkangelmusic.com) if you sign up to their boards, which is probably a good idea.

RavenousMetalist87 12-30-2004 12:40 PM

Do I have to do something to get in there?

They're working on a Live DVD and a new album titled "Darkness Returns." The album is going to take long to make due to Ron Rinehart's injurys, GET WELL SOON RON!

Yeah, know how to turn a Netgear Dg834 firewall off.... It seems to let random people download, and others not. Stupid piece of **** thing.

Oh, and for all those special people who are choosen to browse my files, download my list, as i dont share everything at once.

What's everyone doing for New years? Im heading to see a few local bands including one that plays accoustic covers of skid row, motley crue, wasp etc etc. It'll prove to be an interesting night...

CaptainWaits 12-31-2004 01:04 AM

Then headin off, and we'll see what the rest of the night brings for me :naughty:

Well your New Year sounds a lot better than what I have planned, a small get together with family and friends, man i'm gonna be bored to tears, hopefully I can escape to the PS2 with a few beers to pass the time.

Oh, I also picked up Practice What You Preach today, I'm not sure I like it as much as The New Order but still, it has some kick ass songs on there, I was a bit worried though when 'The Ballad' came on but I like how it develops, some thrashy parts with some melodies.

Is it only me that thinks that The New Order isn't that great? There's too many pointless bits, like the beggining of Disciples of the Watch, which ruins a great song.

Happy New Year!  :thumb:

Half of "The New Order" can be pretty much thrown away, But "Into The Pit" and "The Preacher" make that album IMO. I still think The Legacy is their best work.

Aside from Testament, I picked up Quo Vadis' "Passage In Time" album, and I must say that it kicks ass. Not entirely thrashy, but there are some wicked awesome thrash breaks in that album.

EDIT: Fvck, I just realized that the album was a "best-of" compilation.

RavenousMetalist87 12-31-2004 11:26 PM

Happy New Year to those who have rung it in already. I have about 2 hours and 42 minutes left, but I doubt I'll stay up since I didn't have a great time with my g/f (mother was bitching at her towards the end of the night, and she felt something was wrong, and there was, but not between us).

I hope 2005 brings forth a great year of new thrash material. I myself have been working on some different combination of riffage:

Taking a bit of a Morbid Angel style with some Coroner stylings, mixing it up with some extreme stylings of Kreator, Sepultura, Testament (The Legacy style), and some Destruction at times.

It sounds sort of weird, but I think if I spent a little more time working the riffs out, I could get them to sound different.

Drank a little too much there, eh sensitive?

Trust me...I know of this story where my dad got drunk so bad, that he insisited on driving my mom and my brother home. So he does so, and nearly misses hitting 5 different objects while backing out of a drive way, just trying to drive home XD

So he finally gets home, but to my mom and brother's suprise, HE REAR ENDS THE BACK OF THE STATION WAGON STRAIGHT INTO THIS LITTLE BRICK WALL!

He then is yelling at them when my mom tells him that it's not alright...

The next morning, he wakes up with a hangover...
Then he realizes "HOLY CRAP THE CAR!" when he realizes he's home...
Sees the damage... :eep:!

Yells at my mom "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO THE CAR"
My mom says "I didn't do it that"
He says "Well who did?!?!?"

She simply replies "You did"
"I did?" <- the look on my dad's face... XD

Goes to show, never drink and drive...and if you make it home alive, well...be suprised...very suprised to see what happened XD

EDIT: Happy New Year, my fellow thrashers! Lets hope Enemy of God, Sodom's new release and DVD, and Destruction's release are grand.

Also for Testament to finish up the album they've been working on, for Slayer to produce a kickass comeback, and for Metallica (yes...HATE ME DARGON! LOL!) to ditch the nu metal sound and go back to their roots.

Hopefully Sepultura gets Max back...hopefully...

SLATANIC-666 01-01-2005 05:11 AM

^^ Well that's some wishful thinking, especially Max getting back back with Sepultura but I've still got my fingers crossed.

Can't remember much of last night, must have been good

Max joining Sepultura again? I think it's a bad idea. He's too stained with his experiences in Soulfly - incorporating rap, and all of that jazz.
Max joining Sepultura again? I think it's a bad idea. He's too stained with his experiences in Soulfly - incorporating rap, and all of that jazz.
That was something that I really overlooked. Soulfly have some OK tracks, Prophecy, Living Sacrifice, then they have something like 'Moses' which is just fucking stupid, then you got Max preaching about God etc.
You're right, it really is a bad idea for Max to rejoin.

Kataxu 01-01-2005 05:35 AM

I like the sound of Max's vocals, but...
I can't bring myself to respect him.

DEATH ANGEL: Box Set Featuring Early Recordings To Surface In Feb

A three-CD/DVD box set featuring newly remastered versions of DEATH ANGEL's "The Ultra-Violence" (1987) and "Frolic Through The Park" (1988) outings is being readied for release by Restless Records under the moniker "Archives & Artifacts" on February 1, 2005. The discs will feature additional bonus tracks not found on the original albums, while a third CD within the set will compile a wealth of previously unreleased live and demo cuts. Meanwhile, the DVD portion of the collection is expected to feature all of the band's promotional videos to date, along with various pieces of rehearsal and behind the scenes footage. You can find artwork for the package here http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00070FX1E.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

Happy new year everyone

I'll be getting me that Death Angel box set for sure!

CaptainWaits 01-01-2005 02:04 PM

Yeh that Death Angel package sounds pretty sweet.....but I've already got all their albums, so I don't know if i'll end up getting it

ForiegnPenguin 01-01-2005 03:18 PM

This sucks. I lost my Darkness Descends cd a while ago, now I'm trying to buy a new one. But it is nowhere to be found. Anyone know where I could get one?

P.s. Happy New Year.

DisposableHeroes 01-01-2005 03:27 PM

Amazon are sure to do it, if not there's always eBay

metal-militia 01-01-2005 04:22 PM

I've seen it on Amazon pretty cheap, but I got mine from Virgin Megastores near here, I was really suprised they had it.
