Anything from Pierced From Within and Effigy of the Forgotten slays.

Jesus Wept and Thrones of Blood are two goodies though.

Demise Of The Clone or Deceit.

I know this isn't a good place to ask, but could anyone reccommend some intense (relatively), uptempoish, good classical composers/artists? Especially something string or key oriented (as opposed to wind oriented)? I turned on the Arts channel today and some orchestra was performing Johann Strauss's Persian and Egyptian Marches....it definitely gave me a new outlook on classical music.

Wait for Moses to get on.

Out of pure curiosity, I'd like to know what's good about Minus the Bear.

I haven't heard them in a while, but my guess:

Old Carcass if you want the slower version

Gronibard ( http://myspace.com/gronibard ) if you want the hyper manic depressive version.

Macabre if you want the "wtf" version.

I need some new Melodic Death. Something in the likes of Quo Vadis, Mors Principium Est, and Insomnium would be great.

Tyler 09-21-2006 10:25 PM

Mercenary

ArcLite 09-21-2006 10:35 PM

Thanks. What would be the better album to check out, Hours That Remain or 11 Dreams? (looked them up on Amazon)

Tyler 09-21-2006 10:39 PM

I've only heard 11 Dreams. I hear the new one is a little more harmony/melody based, so it's up to what you're looking for.

I personally hear better things about Hours That Remain.

ArcLite 09-21-2006 10:51 PM

Cool, thanks man.

I'm trying to get into some more death metal and I've been wondering what would be the best Necrophagist album to get?

ArcLite 09-22-2006 01:56 PM

Epitaph slays. Start with that.

lightningmetal666 09-22-2006 01:58 PM

Sweet, will do.

Stoic 09-22-2006 02:30 PM

Nah, most people think their first one is the best.

ArcLite 09-22-2006 02:32 PM

I mentioned Epitaph because I was in the exact same situation. I was trying to get into death metal, then I heard Epitaph and from there my liking for death metal increased greatly. The first album is great though.

Onset of Putrefaction

It's much better, in my opinion.

From what I've heard, I really like them but I wish they'd beef up their guitar tone.
