New T.I. is disappointing.
You think so? It's definitely better than his last one.

Meh he's alright.

I like Moka Only a lot though.

I don't think it's any worse than King.

horseypie 10-07-2008 01:57 AM

It's the first T.I. album ive got but i think its pretty good

there are some really good tracks (Live Your Life, Whats Up, What Happenin, Swagga like us) and his beats are good

ATM 10-07-2008 07:54 AM

T.I. has some good singles, but he's pretty boring overall. That guy cant write an interesting rhyme to save his life.

i just realized this banger is 10 years old

but its still super dope , this is def a classic imo

ATM 10-08-2008 06:27 AM

Yeah that song rules.
Just got back from interviewing Messiah J (the Expert was otherwise engaged) and it was awesome. The reviews site will have an exclusive stream of 5 tracks from the new album (out October 17) from Friday onwards, so I'd be really grateful if you guys could stop by and check it out since they deserve all the publicity they can get.
Never heard of this guy... checked out some samples, and it's not bad. Thanks... really heavily Aesop influenced and doesn't have the typical british "wot wot" hiphop vibe.

On another note, the new Heltah Skeltah is disappointing :(

Rams 10-08-2008 07:50 PM

The new Murs album is good.

ATM 10-08-2008 07:55 PM

Sweet, I just brought it home from the station to review it.

Rams 10-08-2008 10:34 PM

It drags on a bit for the last 3 or 4 songs, but the rest is pretty much gold. I'd say it's easily his best solo effort without 9th Wonder, although I don't think that means that much.

Eh, I could never really dig murs or 9th wonder. Too west coast for me :-/

Although, speaking of west coast, the new Blu and Mainframe joint is sick... it's called Johnson & Jonson I believe. Check it out.

sgrevs 10-10-2008 01:59 AM

Digging new Madlib, pretty rad stuff as usual.

kingsoby1 10-10-2008 08:49 AM

You're gonna review the upcoming album I assume?

I still don't like None Shall Pass but I think it has a lot to do with not being able to understand a word he says.
He's easier to understand on None Shall Pass than the other ones, at least for me. The beats are some of the sickest on any of his albums imo.

Scarlet_SUICIDE 10-14-2008 03:01 PM

good albums that just came out...

Sabac Red - The Ritual
Top Choice Clique - Reel Chemistry : The Anthology
Non Stop Krooks - Polish Your Skills
Blue Sky Black Death & Jean Grae - The Evil Genius
East Coast Avengers - Prison Planet
Dela - Changes Of Atmosphere

You guys should all check out this underground rapper called X-Raided. I started listening to him about 6 years ago. He's pretty popular in the underground crowd and places on the Independent Album charts when he drops a cd.

More info + music: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=30088170

Also, I just posted him as an artist as well as all of his albums in the last 2 days here on Sputnik.

ATM 10-15-2008 06:36 PM

My group has our first show on November 8th. I'm excited as hell.

Royce over a pretty dope Kanye beat that he never paid for.

X-Raided i personally dont really like, i find hes highly overrated people give him more love then he deserves , hes in jail for 1st degree murder... hes been recording from jail (secretly...via unknown source) for like the last decade almost and thus his vocals (from the phone) sound like garbagio, hes a horrorcore rapper too... i dunno id rather take Brotha Lynch Hung over X...

How's BSBD and Grae? I was looking forward to that. Where do you find new hiphop releases? I use hiphopdx.net, but the reviews there kinda suck.

I mean, he only did like two cds over the phone before a guard started letting him use legit recording equipment. His newest song Incarceraided is sick. Slick production too.

ATM 10-17-2008 06:34 AM

**** yes, I get to see Devin the Dude!

haha funny you mention hiphopdx. its a good site , Shake (aka m.S) is a buddie of mine hes a really cool dude , hiphopdx is a good place to find out about new artists (hip-hop) and its good for the occassional free download
i use alota things to find new artists mostly i just know what im looking for (iv been a fan of u.g. hip-hop since like co-flow funcrusher (the days when mainstream and u.g. really shifted and became two different genres) late 90s... so i have the ear to the know , i also used to work for goodvibe recordings.. so i still get some inner source news

if you want some recommendations feel free to ask... i got a great u.g. hip-hop collection... and ya that new BSBD & Jean is very good.. i suggest picking it up jean is a beast and blue skys production is always fantastic.. "razah's ladder" is another good BSBD project
