Unreleased (and maybe the direction their going in?) track. The vocals suck. The track is mediocre.
I wouldn't say it sucked, but I was dissapointed.

Wow 10-23-2005 08:57 PM

I've been dissappointed with FBtMoF since Art Damage. :(

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 10-23-2005 08:58 PM

I can't listen to it right now but how does it sound like?

Crunchwrap Supreme! 10-23-2005 09:23 PM

Art Damage is great and I'm beginning to think I like it better than OHPS.

Mute Print 10-23-2005 09:25 PM

I like both albums a lot. I wasn't really into the new song but it was alright.

I'm seeing FBTMOF and The Fall of Troy next Sunday. I can't wait.

Crunchwrap Supreme! 10-23-2005 09:26 PM

Bleh, The Fall Of Troy is so mediocre and overrated.

Wow 10-23-2005 10:17 PM

You say TFoT is mediocre and you said Art Damage is great prior to that. OHPS wasn't that good either. Some good tracks, but meh. Fear Before are just bleh.

cbmartinez 10-24-2005 07:52 PM

Fear Before are miles better than TFoT. OHPS is good because it's got so much emotion (I consider to be an emo album) but Art Damage just kills with the technicality and dark and brutal feel. It's alot harder to get into but when you do, it's awesome.

Wow 10-24-2005 08:23 PM

If you're gonna say an album/band's good because of emotion, then Devola are the best band ever. Art Damage was just boring. It did absolutely nothing for me. Atleast when I hear TFoT I'm slightly entertained and don't wish I had an abusive father who would hit me in the ears with a baseball bat every night when I was younger.

deadohiosky9 10-24-2005 08:26 PM

Art Damage f.ucking sucked. Boring and not creative, and the vocals were horrible. OHPS was emotional, but i would not call it an "emo album". Nonetheless, this band sucks now, and were only mediocre before.
so besides the ignorance of the majority, is there any scene for emo and/or screamo out in indonesia?
well, the thing is my country is a VERY LARGE country... so i'm not sure.. But, until this day i haven't found anybody else who have the same concept of emo/screamo as me and u all guys do...
Most( by that, i mean almost everyone) in my country who said that they listen to emo always mention bands such The Used, FFAF, u get the idea..
There are some local bands who plays that kind of music.. But the thing is, i think because the local scene are very much affected by the US scene, our band's sounds are sort of lack of innovation... There's not much to say..
There are communities that we(normal college kid like i am) like to call "indie kids" who wear black t-shirts, and baggy pants and have that famous "emo haircut"(u get the idea).. But, i'm not one of them,o'm just a regular college kid.. :D who love music...

Concubine 10-24-2005 10:55 PM

Btw i started get into this kind of music after bought Saetia's A Retrospective (import):( for like US$17... Fortunately, it's all worth it.. :thumb:
Hmm, can u guys suggest some great albums by other similar bands in the genre? i was thinking of : Drive Like Jehu (Yank Crime) and Swing Kids(forget the album's title)..
How about Kaospilot? Are they good? thanks...

Wow 10-24-2005 11:07 PM

Bob Tilton, Breakwater, Burned Out Bright, Joshua Fit For Battle, Reach Out, The Khayembii Communqiue, and The Sea, The Sea.

Oh and Anasarca, the band Saetia ripped off.
That sucks but at least you have some form of non-pop music. That's always neat. Europe has a lot of great emo bands, most notably in France and Netherlands.
I think Italy should also be mentioned...

and Loner-guy...I can't imagine that there are no indonesian emo/screamo bands, maybe they just don't call themselves emo or screamo but just hardcore..

Saturday Supercade 10-25-2005 04:59 AM

by the way...what does everybody think of Cerberus Shoal (there first album)?

well.. i never said that there are no emo/screamo bands in Indonesia... But, AS FAR AS I KNOW, there are no local bands (yet) that sounds even close like Saetia, CTTS, Funeral Diner, and the likes...
There are A LOT of bands who sounds like The Used, From First To Last, Thrice, Saosin and bands like that..
Metalcore are also starting to become a trend here..
Well, maybe we'll have a decent band in the future (hopefully)
I also want to recommend some good local bands that i know :
1. Seringai (influenced : Black Flag, although their music is somewhat people often called stoner rock)
2. Step Forward (sounds like Wall Of jericho, also with female vocals)
3. Killed By Butterfly (sounds like Metalcore version of Thrice.......... oh well i can't give better description..)

Art Damage > Odd How People Shake.

Wow 10-25-2005 07:36 AM

No. Art Damage < The Fu cking Cu nts Treated Us Like Sh it

Oh and I hate the vb update.

Pinkpiche 10-25-2005 08:30 AM

France : Belle Epogue and Daïtro

Anyway i just got to know 1905 and Mihai Edrisch. Also great screamo.

tornpictures 10-25-2005 08:44 AM
by the way...what does everybody think of Cerberus Shoal (there first album)?
Very, VERY good.
After that (and the Still Life split 7") Cerberus Shoal turned all weirdo-indie.

And Mihai Edrisch are also pretty good and pretty French.

DFelon: The NETHERLANDS as a country for 'good emo bands?'
Name a couple.

StandingStill 10-25-2005 09:02 AM

Ughh someone just called my band Discocore....
There are a few decent Indonesian hardcore bands with a screamo influence, but the scene is more grind/metal over there.

yeah..I know..I heard a 'newer' song of them and it had a lot of weird rainforest-like sounds or something..but there first album has really amazing epic songs.

You might like the Red Scare, check out Cappilary Lockdown by them, Usurp Synapse, In\Humanity, Cap'n Jazz, Julia, Rockets and Blue Lights, Boys Life, and I have heard Shotmaker is good. :thumb:

I have to agree with you cb, I have heard most of OHPS and own Art Damage and they both are really good. I really enjoyed that dark presence you mention it is present on both of their albums one song that strikes my mind (from Odd How People Shake) is Lisbon Girls, O the Lisbon Girls.

The only one of those bands that are anything like Saetia are Shotmaker on a rare occasion. Saetia aren't upbeat and catchy and they're not ridiculously chaotic, so yeah.
Julia are an alright one to list.

nah...I wouldn't say Saetia sounds like Julia...but its a good one to list because everbody should love Julia
torn, I was under the impression that Dodewaard and The People, Listening were both Dutch bands. Also, the way you speak of your local scene and the bands in your area made it seem as if it was notable.
I mentioned those bands a while ago..they both broke up, but were great.
But I don't believe the dutch scene is any better than for instance the German or Belgium one...
