nah, people who wear tshirts are one thing, but people who claim they are true classic rock fans because they like hendrix (when theyre just wiggers who love rap and sweat black people) piss me off. People are gay.

Must say, I like their stuff. I have the first CD, and might be interested in getting the 2nd if I could ever find it.
EDIT: Also, I love Harrison's solo efforts.
The 2nd is so rare I haven't herd it yet. Got the 1st and 3rd though :smoke: |

There was no Volume 2, the 2nd CD I meant was Volume 3. |
Dark side of the moon shirts are trendy. I don't like them. Though it's a hell of an album.

I said basically the same thing to my mom the other day. I'd wear the shirt if I didn't see everyone else in my school wearing it. |
I have an Animals shirt
Anyways, the best of is jiberish. How can you throw songs from the wall and mix them with songs from DSOTM? It just doesn't fit. Sometimes there are good greatest hits. But with Pink Floyd, each album has a certain atmosphere and theme so if you take bits from each and put them together, it looses a certain feel which makes Pink Floyd unique. |
The pink floyd best of album is for the idiots who wear dark side of the moon shirts and haven't heard any floyd but like to be trendy. At least then hey can say that they like another brick in the wall, wish you were here and time and such.

for anyone looking for a band that comes somewhat close to revitalizing classic rock style, listen to Silvertide.
download I Ain't Comin' Home by them |
Where do I go for that download?
|
Has an eric calpton (concert) t-shirt, two the who t-shirts (who's next and a random one), a doors shirt (morrison in flames), and the dark side of the moon shirt (so sue me).
I can understand getting best of albums even for certain great bands because.. 1. You may not have known much of their stuff at the time 2. You may not be able to afford very many CD's 3.Sometimes albums are just impossible to find. |

i agree i tried not to buy that one and got the "iwish you were here" tshirt instead. :) |
if you asked people who "liked" pink floyd how many of em could tell ya that they have listened to comfortably numb and could tell you what it is about i wonder.

Well, for one, we both are in a classic rock thread, so it seems my taste is your taste. Think about it for a sec. Secondly, after you wrote something along the lines of "call me a newba and lets ****ing go ill kill you u ****ing homo faggot", i'm not gonna take you seriously. I'm not an idiot for making fun of you. Now back to what matters. |

I don't care about your fights with anyone else, I just feel you've underestimated the Who, one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever. Pete Townsend was a great guitar player. No, he isn't Petrucci, but tons of modern guitar players are inspired by him. His style was more based on the power in his hand, rather then the effects he could use, and Who songs are very distinct because of this. You can tell a Townsend strum, its his calling card. Not to mention his ability to write songs is nearly unmatched. Not to mention, he was able to blend so well with the very active rythym section he had, playing a style that accented them, rather then taking over. Keith Moon, may he rest in peace, will always be known as the original crazy drummer. His speed and style still retain their uniqueness to this day. John Entwhistle...jeez...one of the pioneers of the bass. The stuff that guy would do still amazes me....I'll never forget the first time I heard the bassline on Pinball Wizard...wow. Roger Daltry was a great frontman the same reason Plant was a great frontman...not because of singing ability, but because of lyrics and style. The Who were also one of the great songwriting bands...right up there with The Beatles. I hope you'd give The Who another chance. |
thelizardkingcc, Chill. Take a deep breath and come back when you can justify the stuff you say w/o using swear words.
Annyway. I was listening to the BBC sessions version of 'Thank You' (LZ) and i thought it was really awsome! Its just that, i dunno, alot of people think Thank You is a really bad song but i was listening to the BBC version of it and was like, hey this really rocks! What do you guys think about it? DVG. |
I love that song.
I've DJ'd a wedding where the couple had that as their main dance. It was wicked. |
That's awesome.
