Just play it right handed.

My guitar teacher was a lefty but he played guitar righty.

Win A Rabbit 12-02-2006 04:14 PM

I tried. My brother bought a right handed used guitar for dirt cheap (back when I only had a bass, left handed of course) and gave up on it in 2 weeks. I started trying to teach myself right handed and it just wasn't working.

Plus, now that I've played left handed for almost 5 years now, it'd kill me to start back at the very basics and work my way up again.

Janeway 12-02-2006 04:22 PM

Oh.

Then...play it left handed but learn the chords backwards and get good at upstrokes.

I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put the contents of my wallet in my ZVM pouch, or keep it in my wallet.
And I may be buying a mandolin today. I've been wanting one for a while, and a store in the city is having a big Christmas sale inventory clearout. Only problem is, I have to hope they've got a left handed one. :( Sometimes I hate being left handed.
I've never actually seen a lefty mandolin,so not so sure they would have one man.But you could probably do like you would a guitar and just flip the nut and restring it.And even if that wouldn't be possible, though I'm not so sure why it wouldn't be,playing things upside down isn't so bad,you get used to it.

raz0r 12-02-2006 04:26 PM
w00t, in 1,5 hours I'm at the venue I play tonight! :D (it's 14:34 now). It's gonna be a great night, with loads of beer, great music and pretty girls.
Where are you playing?

trysthedrummer 12-02-2006 04:31 PM

How is the mx folk on this fine winters evenin'?

I've seen them sold on the internet and such, but I've never played a lefty myself. I may just try out a bunch of right handed mandolins then buy through the internet.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 04:36 PM

Whatever you're feelin man.I love playing the mandolins at the stores around here, even if they are all right handed. Its a damn cool instrument.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 04:45 PM

Dylan likes man butt.

Josiah 12-02-2006 04:46 PM

Hot and Windy.

I'm workin on this pretty cool snare solo though...

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 04:48 PM

I'm working on warming up my hands.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 04:52 PM

I'll warm up your face mike, you big st00pid.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 04:53 PM

Oooooooooooooh burn to whoever this mike character is.

Janeway 12-02-2006 04:53 PM

I need a haircut.

It's halfway to my elbows. I haven't had a proper cut in almost 4 years.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 04:54 PM

Haircuts are overrated. Just like showers, brushing your teeth, and trimming your toenails.

EDIT: Janeway, is that you ion your avatar, I always wondered what you looked like.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 04:56 PM

Mad hate for significantly cutting ones hair, long hair is where its at.

Janeway 12-02-2006 04:59 PM

Long is where it's at when you've got short hair.

Or if you don't wear hoodies. Which I do.

And it makes my hair all messy.

Josiah 12-02-2006 05:00 PM

shower days... i hate them.

No, I don't think that's her. The girl in that avatar looks much oler, around 30+ easy.

I've kept my hair short, buzzed that is. #2, 1/8" I think. For the last few years, let it go a lil longer here or there but not much.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 05:02 PM

Whats wrong with showers dude?Being clean is great.

Josiah 12-02-2006 05:03 PM

Showers are great actually. It's just the getting in part I dislike.

Though I got this new Axe body wash.. 'Snake Peel', it smells great. I love it, it's motivated me to shower more.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 05:03 PM

Yeah especially when you take 40 minute showers thats like so awesome!!!!!!

(SlincoJ takes 40 minute showers)

Loser 12-02-2006 05:03 PM

Showers contain experimental mind control chemicals that cause cancer, duh.

Janeway 12-02-2006 05:03 PM

It's Mary McDonnell. President Roslin in Battlestar Galactica.

She's 54.

She was in Donnie Darko, too. I think she was his mother.

Josiah 12-02-2006 05:04 PM

Oooh that's where I regonized her.

Good call. She was great in Donnie Darko, one of my all tiem favorite movies.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 05:04 PM

Uhhh, dont get me started about that movie.

Janeway 12-02-2006 05:06 PM

I saw it once, a very long time ago.

I don't remember it. Like, all I remember is the plane and the rabbit.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 05:06 PM

Mike,it was a good movie, you just have a short attention span.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 05:08 PM

Well the rabbit(named Kevin) should have had a threesome with donnie(Emelio) and fat asian chick, who I might add did not relay information to the chinese mafia like she was supposed to.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 05:10 PM

God damn,I didn't think you'd be able to remember the nicknames you gave them.

Josiah 12-02-2006 05:11 PM

Hahaha somebody is projecting....!

Great movie. Took me a long time to figure it out and get through the website.

Deffinetly one of those you have to pay attention to though.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 05:12 PM

The website pissed me off,was pretty confusing if memory serves.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 05:12 PM

I have a memeory like some sort of great remembering super machine/animal/man beast. I'm sure the movie was good, but you cant just say "mike sit and watch this movie" like you and ryan did, I wasn't in any mood for paying attention to a plot that required thought.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 05:15 PM

Trying to get Trevor to watch it was a lost cause as well,I don't think that boy is ever in the mood for a movie that requires thought.

Bonham#1! 12-02-2006 05:17 PM

True nuff. Blonde through and through I'm afraid.

Josiah 12-02-2006 05:17 PM

Yea, you gotta have a pretty good knowledge of the movie and then some puzzle sovling skills on top of that to make it through the website.
It gives you a lot more information though.

I ran into a dead end though, at the recorded conversation between the FAA officials talking about the plane engine

Now a movie like Good Fella's. Then you gots to have the guys around drinkin and recitin lines with the movie

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 05:19 PM

Yeah,I got that far eventually myself,as far as I could figure out that was as far as the site went.

Janeway 12-02-2006 05:20 PM

The Judas Cradle.

That would be a good name for a song. I bet it's a band, though. =/

Edit: Yeahp.

Crappy one, too.

I would have rather it been acoustic soft-rock.

SlincoJ 12-02-2006 05:22 PM

Eh,names\titles can't be copyrighted from my understanding of copyright law.

Josiah 12-02-2006 05:25 PM

^Depends on context.

For instance.. Gap. The word Gap itself is free, public domain. However if you tried to make a brand or company named 'Gap', you'd have issues.
Yeah,I got that far eventually myself,as far as I could figure out that was as far as the site went.
There is rumor it goes farther, but I haven't found the way past that page. I'm goina have to call up what's his face director one of these days...

*beer is good*

I almost got this snare solo down. Almost...
