i was born on the 19th too man! we get the whole "happy birthday AND marry christmas." (one present)

Janeway 08-09-2006 12:15 AM

I need lube right now, but I don't want a yest infection from vaseline.

The only thing I can think of is spit. Damn it.

Maggot Dream 08-09-2006 12:18 AM
But I did just get back yesterday from a 2-week visit..
That's what I was thinking of.

I've been in airports/airplanes all day, and I'm not tired at all. This is surreal.

LiquidTensionTheatre 08-09-2006 05:40 AM

Does anyone know how Rabb gets his one handed rolls? Are they just Moeller, really well-practised?

Just watched the Meinl Booth video of him, hadn't been interested in learning them until I saw them used tastefully!

~~

Ethan. 08-09-2006 09:12 AM

I never really thought of a practical use for them...

We_Love_Lime 08-09-2006 09:15 AM

I have.

Everyday when I get behind the kit.

Ethan. 08-09-2006 09:20 AM

I'm talking about the one where you bounce it off the head while resting it on the rim the bounce it again so it deos it really fast. I could never really get it to sound even and powerful like a normal roll.

If it did sound good though, then I'd use it. But I don't really care about it that much.

ofDooM 08-09-2006 09:25 AM

theres the push pull that buddy rich and jojo mayers bust out. basically the one handed roll.

Ethan. 08-09-2006 09:27 AM

Is that a different method?

We_Love_Lime 08-09-2006 09:29 AM

I think.

The push pull (I think) doesn't need the assistance of the rim, while Rabb uses the rim as a sort of rebound.

I don't know though...
i was born on the 19th too man! we get the whole "happy birthday AND marry christmas." (one present)
Hahaha. You're like the 4th or 5th person I've met [well..."met"] with the same birthday as me.

And I know an assload of other people who have birthdays within a week.

Ethan. 08-09-2006 09:43 AM

I'm a twin and I met another pair of twins with the same birthday as me and my twin :amaze:

Sunshine 08-09-2006 09:44 AM

Now that's just damnably creepy.

We_Love_Lime 08-09-2006 09:50 AM

To be precise.

That's just creepy.

ofDooM 08-09-2006 10:16 AM

the push pull does NOT need the rim.

you basically push the stick, making it hit, then pull it, making it hit again. repeat.

THAT is the push-pull. i tried practicing it and it basically turned into the normal one handed roll. hit, bounce-hit, bounce-hit, etc...

I went and seen darkest hour last night, because I like em of course. It was pretty kickass, the pit was quite crazy. It was good fun. I must say their drummer isn't anything amazing or nothing. Almost looks like he struggles alot, but I just think that's his look. But it was a pretty kickass show

MeaninglessPhoto 08-09-2006 11:03 AM

So yeah. Im sitting here in the recording studio on my laptop while my lead singer lays down his tracks. We did one song already and in the middle its got a really sweet groove in it. Ill post it when its completed.

Sorry for the use off It pespi, i'm jsut not sure, or are you a haemaphrodite, or a skitzophrenic (no idea how to spell those last two big words)?

Josiah 08-09-2006 02:51 PM

So aparently, my girlfriend has been going to mrs spielberg's (stevens mom) resturant for some time. They've become friends, "a darling woman she is..." *sigh* and I was just informed we've been invited to a dinner party at her house. maybe stevie will be there, one can hope.

Who here reads Rhythm magasine? Has anyone been reading the series they're currently doing on drum tuning? I love the guys methods, keeping it simple and dispelling some of the myths.
I tuned up my bass drum by his advice- no dampening, and no hole, and it sounds absolutely brilliant! So full and punchy and I can really feel it, but it sounds great from round the front too. Mmmm yeah.

maniac0796 08-09-2006 03:13 PM

I got the first one (the basic overview), but i havn't bought any since them
havn't had the time to buy or read em.

Janeway 08-09-2006 03:14 PM

Last night was fun.

I'm never going to think of cucumbers the same way again.

Cocaberry 08-09-2006 03:21 PM

So you made the "not cocaberry" name too then?

Josiah 08-09-2006 03:25 PM

Last night was fun.

I'm never going to think of little girls the same way again.

Leprechauns1021 08-09-2006 03:28 PM

Last night was fun.

Im never going to think of an underage girl that was drunk at my friends party so I took her back to my place and played scrabble with her the same way again.
