switch to death metal, and you may be on to something. good luck.
Harp is a pretty br00tal instrument, it would be a neat combo.

_Wrathchild_ 12-01-2006 12:21 AM

Alright, death metal it is then.

I already know a progressive metal band with harp in it anyway. And violin.

LoneStarDrummer 12-01-2006 12:24 AM

yeh it's best to be original and the only band of the type. death metal is the way to go.

i played kazoo in a death metal band, but the other band members kicked me out because i was "too hardcore." they wanted to go all soft and gay. i was planning on leaving the band anyway. my kazoo skills were too much for them.

Ever seen Metalocalypse?
I love that show.

PowerStamp 12-01-2006 04:02 AM

^^ Awesome show

my singer and a few select friends don't like, but I love it.
"I'm uh, what do you call it....yeah, stupid."

Plus the Dethklok song on Guitar Hero 2 is NUTS.

I'd like to take this moment in time to introduce you all to a very cool original band, (if Myspace's player will work)

2 keyboards/synth, 1 on vocals
+1 guitar
+drum machine
= Insanity.

GENGHIS TRON

http://www.myspace.com/genghistron

"White Walls" is the coolest song on there, displays their overall style very good. I freaking love this band.

Definitely one of the best CDs of the year.
Yeah, sometimes I get frustrated when I can't play my drums because I often get home too late at night. Most of the activities that keep me busy involve drumming or something else music related anyway though so it's all good.

I still get time on the weekends to hang out with friends, and sometimes (like maybe tomorrow night) even smoke up >_>

A bad thing though, is that I have a hard time relaxing sometimes, because I always have something I could be doing and feel guilty for just doing nothing. :upset:
For sure, happened to me sometimes in high school, with show/ play practice and such. Hanging out is good, as is smoking up, hehe, as long as you don't do it too much. Now relaxing is good too, just make yourself do it sometimes, heh.

Corkofski 12-01-2006 04:50 AM

just ordered my fake id :)

Dave*Grohl 12-01-2006 06:15 AM

Just got my official drivers licence id thingy today. And it's friday! I want to drink like a monkey. But im not going to...altough I'm going to see a kickass band today "Hero Dishonest" awesome band right there. But since all my friends are planning on being sober tonight so I will do it too. And I will be the one to drive us to the venue....we also have our own gig before that. YAY, I can't wait...I love performing to big crowds

Kosmos Tree 12-01-2006 10:40 AM

German Parliament has decided about a new "Non-Smoking"-bill.
It will be soon officially forbidden to smoke in hospitals or public places but it will be still allowed in bars or clubs - just like it is now! This makes me sick.

I envy all Scandinavians, Italians and Americans who can have a social life without being poisened...

Public placed...so when you're outside you can't smoke? :p

I must say, I think it'd be great if smoking in pubs would be prohibited...Then I can come home and not stink like a smoke-addicted smoker :p

maniac0796 12-01-2006 11:15 AM

I heard the nicest snare drum ever today! Black panther deep forest walnut 14x5.5"

I wanna buy one, but they're £350, around $680

Drum Phil 12-01-2006 11:19 AM

I never realised how far back i pull my sticks sometimes. Its a wonder i dont hit myself.

maniac0796 12-01-2006 12:37 PM

Remo heads are shocking. I played a snare drum with a coated amb in the store today and after about 1 minute, you could already see the coating come off.

Jezen 12-01-2006 12:40 PM

My coated amb hasn't lost a single bit of coating after a year and a half.

trysthedrummer 12-01-2006 12:43 PM

Same here, the one that came on the snare I have, the coating has hardly come off yet.

maniac0796 12-01-2006 12:50 PM

Interesting.

Well, i'll stick with evans anyway. They probably all come off the same production line with a different logo anyway....

Sunshine 12-01-2006 01:02 PM

School can be a waste of time sometimes.

Not always, but sometimes.

maniac0796 12-01-2006 01:06 PM

I didn't go to school today. Instead, i went to exeter college for 2 hours, and then spent 3 hours around exeter, then i came home and slept, and then i played drums, then i played NFSMW, then i came here to complain about remo heads but praise black panther snare drums

Tell me about it.

I could still smell the smoke on my hair from seeing Iron Maiden on monday.
That was until the smell of sweat from playing basketball washed it out :D

Win A Rabbit 12-01-2006 03:20 PM

So I haven't showered in a couple days, and I work today. :( My mom's going to be sleeping until 4:00 atleast, usually to 4:45, and I have to leave for work at 4:30. The shower's right next to her room. I guess I'm going to have to hop in and have a quick shower, for sanity's sake.

I got a coated snare head w/my Pinstripe pre-pack & it was chipping within 30 minutes, new sticks as well

Remo's coating's aren't shocking, they just SUCK

Sunshine 12-01-2006 03:55 PM

Arrgh.

Stupid speeding ticket.

Stupid $100 defensive driving course.

Oh well.

It's cheaper than a $280 ticket plus insanely raised insurance.

Saturday, Dec. 30th...7:30 am...I have to find out where the hell that place is =/

Seafroggys 12-01-2006 04:19 PM

bah, what's with people's problems with Remo? I put my current snare head on in late August and its blackish in the middle, but no chipping.

drummguy731 12-01-2006 04:26 PM

I don't know, someone said to me, and I sort of agree with this, that two big companies, Remo and Ludwig, haven't really updated any of their stuff since the late 80's? maybe, I don't know, either way I dislike both of the companies

stevensonmat2 12-01-2006 04:26 PM

82 in a 65.

3 under criminal speed.

Awesome, though, because when I was going 82, I was slowing down from 100.

True about Ludwig, don't know about Remo though.

maniac0796 12-01-2006 05:13 PM

I dislike ludwig and remo...

They kinda have this old image which just doesn't appeal to me....

Also, every ludwig kit I've seen or heard as looked/sounded like crap

All remo heads I've used were just rubbish....

They havn't left a very good impression on me...

Psh that's not very bad. The 85 criminal speed thing is bullshit anyway. 85 isn't even very fast on a highway.
