Gmail isn't working now, but when it's up I'm going to upload some songs by Luther Allison. He plays some baaaadass blues guitar, and those of you who enjoy that style will love this.

Lunch 09-26-2005 01:53 PM

I do enjoy the bus scene with Tiny Dancer from Almost Famous.

Broken Arrow 09-26-2005 02:14 PM

Hey, idea here. Would anyone here be interested in running a classic rock album emailing thing for the rest of R&M (we already have our own established file sharing method within this thread, obviously). This would go along with our idea while ago about giving metalheads a taste of classic rock, etc.

It wouldn't just be one person doing it, we could alternate who sends the albums and discuss which albums we would send out. Or we could just stay isolated from the rest of R&M like we usually do.

I can help you run it if you want. I don't mind uploading albums for people either.

Lunch 09-26-2005 03:14 PM

I wouldn't mind uploading an album every week or whatever, the only reason I don't want to do it is because album mailing is becoming the new trendy R&M thing.

magicbus 09-26-2005 03:17 PM

Eh, who cares. We've been doing it longer than anyone else. (Except maybe Neurotoxin)

We could like type out a review of the album, and then ask who wants it, and they give us their email. That way we wouldn't have to send it out to a million people each time. Or something?

Lunch 09-26-2005 03:19 PM

Yea, good idea. I'd say we need another few people on board before we go through with it though.

Woodstock 09-26-2005 03:28 PM

I'm in.

Walrus Gumboot 09-26-2005 03:43 PM

I'm not sure if I want an inbox full of the kind of stuff that deeply saddens flower children like me, but maybe I would learn something new

I think this would be a great idea with the Other/Alt-Indie forums, though

You don't have to get anything, my point was to send classic rock albums to metal heads.

Sounds good. I'll throw in a "mxmetalheads" list in with my "mxclassicrock" list :)

That sounds like a great idea. I can contribute some albums.

Lunch 09-26-2005 03:51 PM

There it is, four people, and I'm sure others will be willing to contribute.

PinkFreud 09-26-2005 03:53 PM

i'll do it to if needed.

BigTrav415 09-26-2005 03:57 PM

Hey guys, what kind of equipment would be cheap but good for recording bootlegs? I'm possibly going to both an Allman Brothers concert and a Stones concert, and would like to record them for you guys if I indeed get to go. Thanks in advance.

JonG 09-26-2005 03:58 PM

*EDIT* Whoops, I thought something different. Go up to the soundboard and ask.

1) Buy the insant live for ABB befroe the show, the quality is excellent and it is only aroung $25 for three discs, you won't be dissapointed

2)You are likely to have any equipment confiscated if you bring it to a stones concert

robo2448 09-26-2005 04:13 PM

Any chance I could get recording stuff inside Cream? I doubt it.

I like Lunch's idea. I'd help out.

Traffic is awesome

I bought John Barleycorn Must Die this afternoon. It's amazing.

np- Empty Pages

Walrus Gumboot 09-26-2005 04:42 PM

I didn't know Phil Lesh & Friends were touring, I have until October 1st to figure out a way to go

Jacaranda 09-26-2005 04:46 PM

I'll help with that CR mailing to Metalheads thingy, but to be honest how many do you think will really listen to the album or even download it?

Lunch 09-26-2005 04:50 PM

Well if they post their email address in the thread I'm going to make, it appears they are interested.

robo2448 09-26-2005 04:54 PM

I just read the 3 pages I missed last night, and to catch up on the possible new thread naming, I think "Classic Rock Revisited" would be awesome. Bob Dylan reference in there (the revisited part). I can't wait till 9, that movie is going to be awesome.

np- Stranger to Himself.

Eee! That's gonna be great

Classic Rock Revisited is great, I'll go for that.
I'm starting to get more and more into Elton John these days. Or, Sir. Elton John I guess. It's funny because I always kind of liked his music, but now I'm really starting to like and appreciate it. Maybe my musical tastes are maturing.
I like Elton John.

BludgeonySteve 09-26-2005 05:04 PM

Me too. He's the 2nd most rockingest gay guy.
