I've been put off Rock Band because a friend of mine said he played it and broke the drums - not because he was smacking the crap out of them but because they were really badly made.

while the guitarist was restringing or whatever the singer went on a rant about how much he hates the new 'green' trend and straight edge kids, which was way more entertaining than their actual music

The Acacia Strain's riffing has never been that technically impressive. They're just genuinely brutal and awesome.

i know that all they do is chug chug squidly but they're live performance is mostly just vinny going rah rah ahhhh, and the guitarist doing really sloppy chug chug squidly's. the pinch harmonics were good though.

you have yet to make an actual point, because that video isnt noticibly sloppy

like, they sound better live than on album, therefore they suck live because they're not sloppy but you say they are.

i actually do like them to an extent. they aren't anything amazing but they're fun to blast when your in the mood for chunky riffs and big breakdowns

the only things you can understand in the song are when he clearly states "everyone will suffer" or yells something like **** this place up unless you pay an incredible amount of attention to every word (2:26-3:00 in the video for example)

and i hate to use this analogy because it's probably the lamest thing i've ever heard anyone say when describing distorted instruments but the guitar honestly sounds like a chainsaw. all he's doing is palm muting open chords, and he can't even do it with an ounce of clarity.
