The secret message is:

'Congratulations. You have just discovered the secret message. Please send your answer to old pink, care of the funny farm. Chalfont.'

BigTrav415 05-10-2005 03:08 PM

You guys missed the real kicker that makes it hilarious, after he says Chalfont, he's about to start talking again, and then in the back ground, very faintly, you can hear someone say "Roger, Caroline's on the phone" and then he says "Oh" and it cuts off.
Well, in 1979, it wasn't so clear. I mean, now we have the technology to easily reverse a recording, so we recognize the sound of backwards vocals. Back then, I would imagine it wasn't easy to reverse, so the backwards singing would just sound like jibberish until someone reversed it.
That's true. I remember when I was real little (I mean like 7), I remember riding in the car with my dad and him telling me about the Beatles, and how there was a rumor 'back in the day' that one of the songs played backwards said 'Paul is dead', beacue he was the only one barefoot on Abbey Road and stuff, and he said that noone could check it because only really expensive record players could go backwards. I remember thinking that was the coolest thing ever.

GOme 05-10-2005 05:04 PM

Im going to cry
I cant find my DSOTM CD!!!! :'(

robo2448 05-10-2005 07:21 PM

that sucks

lunch998 05-10-2005 07:29 PM

I listened to Dark Side the other night after not listening to it for awhile. It was quite an experience, as you would think.

Distant Echoes 05-10-2005 07:34 PM

Im still in dire need of getting the approiate effects for that album. Hows Rick get that effect on Any Colour You Like on his keyboards...does he got a Delay running through that Or is he playing it how it sounds?

blue3 05-10-2005 09:15 PM

I lost my DSOTM CD a year ago, I still can't find it.

Yay.. this is my 4th post in the Pink Floyd thread

pigonthewing82 05-10-2005 09:22 PM

I have no idea where mine is, Pulse replaced Dark Side of the Moon for me, and my new 1973 bootleg has replaced Pulse.

blue3 05-10-2005 09:41 PM

I just got Pulse and I've been listening to that alot

I'm pretty sure it is a slight delay. I can sort of pick it, and he is using a tone, but I'm not sure what it is emulating...

A 1973 bootleg of them playing DSOTM live?

DeusExMachina 05-11-2005 01:30 PM

I need to get some Pink Floyd bootlegs. Unfortunately, I live in a shitty suburb, so I can't get hold of any good CD's without doing a lot of driving.

skynyrd73 05-11-2005 02:11 PM
I read about that a few years ago...some New York City DJ found it out 1 or 2 years after the album was released and played it on the radio. I tried it myself, and it was intentionally put in there...pretty interesting if anybody cares to do it (soundrecorder works fine too, comes with about all Windows computers).

Somethin about 'congratulations, you found the secret message...the funny farm...' and some other junk. Its hard to hear over the backround noise though.
yeah go to that site..awsome..somone was talking about the beatles thing, well they have it there, definetly check it out

skynyrd73 05-11-2005 02:12 PM
A 1973 bootleg of them playing DSOTM live?
Yeah its really good. Disk One is Obscured by Clouds (bout 5 min) When You're In (9+min) Set The Controls For The Heart of the Sun (11min+) Careful With That Axe Eugene (16+min) Echoes, best version I've ever heard )23+ min). Disk Two is all of Dark Side of the Moon and One of These Days.

The only problem is the bass over powers some of the instruments, but if you just turn the bass down on whatever you listening to it on it is no problem at all.

BigTrav415 05-11-2005 04:42 PM

Where can I get it, I've heard all about it but can't find it anywhere, but then again I probably need to get Pulse first.

MustkillLois6712 05-11-2005 06:59 PM

ok, so i have the most well known PF cd's (DSOTM, WYWH, and the Wall) and I was wondering what you guys suggest for my next floyd purchase. I really love all these cd's (WYWH being my fav.) and want to hear some more. Any preference would be great :thumb:

lunch998 05-11-2005 07:03 PM

Pigs, I would probably turn gay for something like that. It's imperative that you upload it whenever you can.

Animals is a common step after getting those three. It's from the same era, and I sort of view it as a cross between WYWH and The Wall. It's a very solid album.

Get Meddle too then, if you're interested in beginning to get into their earlier years.

Ok I'm not making any promises but I am going to be at one of my friends houses with a good internet connection this weekend, so if I go on at his house I will try to upload it and thus make all of your lives compleate.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-12-2005 05:53 PM

Who was one of the lucky fucks who got to download Comfortably Numb off of YSI earlier this morning?

Can someone upload it again?
