Sweet :)

Yeah, the lineup.

Against Miik! 08-29-2004 05:24 PM

Greg, Warren, Butch Trucks and Jaimone on drums, I think his name is Marc Quiones on percussion, Derek Trucks(Butch's nephew), and Oteli Burbridge on bass. In the middle of the concert, Oteli just did this 10 minute bass solo thing. It was believe in or not one of the highlights of the concert. I think he is probably the best new member of ABB, meaning he is the only one who exceeds his predecessor in talent. Warren and Derek are great obviously, but nothing beats Dickey and Duane.
Okay, so... I was with my mommy at the mall (stfu) and there were at least 30 kids with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Ac/dc etc.. shirts. my god! I mean I knew it had become trendy to like music from the 70s but this is just out of control.

I could out quiz all of those people on any of the bands that they wear on their shirts. I always hated the word poser, until now!
Christ man, I know what you mean. I went to buy some new shirts today, and I couldn't find one shirt that I hadn't already seen on some gay freshman last week. It was sickening. I'm ready for this trend to end.

Badmoon 08-29-2004 05:32 PM

Me too, but I rule :p

Nobody has my Gov't Mule shirt

Wonderful that's just what I was hoping you'd say.

Speaking of Trucks, it's good to see a slide musician who actually has a reason why he's playing a slide (Other than just the twangy sound) and has adapted his style to it.

Woodstock 08-29-2004 05:35 PM

wOOt, Ninth graders we rule so much, ok that's enough.

Anyways, I brought this up with no reply but what do you guys think of Emerson, Lake and Palmer?

magicbus 08-29-2004 05:35 PM
HEY!

I'm a Freshman(prepares for flaming)
But it sounds like you have a decent knowledge of classic rock. I'm talkin bout the freshmen who have the "Led Zeppelin USA" or whatever shirts. That gets real annoying.

Woodstock 08-29-2004 05:36 PM

That really isn't common where I live.

Hey, decent knowledge!

Badmoon 08-29-2004 05:38 PM

:D

They're part of the Prog circle of three I made up. Which ELP, King Crimson, and Yes. Who I believe traded around a few musicians back in the day.

Woodstock 08-29-2004 05:40 PM

We'll make a club. The ELPKCY fan club.

Edit: To long, nevermind :upset:

Against Miik! 08-29-2004 05:40 PM

I have an idea. Lets make a new list of who is the most knowledgable of the regulars in here. It would probably only be a top 10 though.

Badmoon 08-29-2004 05:41 PM

No, that'd make us angry and mad at each other.

Against Miik! 08-29-2004 05:41 PM

Well, I guess its pretty obvious anyway

Woodstock 08-29-2004 05:41 PM

That would be somewhat demeaning.

magicbus 08-29-2004 05:48 PM

Would I be in it?

Also, I'm really gettin into Yes more and more. Their music creates like an atmosphere when you listen, like man. Can't explain. Kinda like Floyd's more instrumental peices. I'm really into the long instrumental, psychadelic stuff. Close To the Edge is a great cd.

rock not the roll 08-29-2004 05:52 PM
^you should get Jeff Healey shirt i bet alot of people don't have those.
Sounds super-duper. I like the way you think.

Woodstock 08-29-2004 05:53 PM

There's gotta be one in the world.

lunch998 08-29-2004 05:59 PM

The only trendy t-shirts around where I live are really Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and maybe Floyd. (The same "Stairway to Heaven" Zeppelin noobs Woodstock and I were discussing in the LZ thread.) So I'm currently hunting for a Who t-shirt. While not a rare band people haven't heard of, they have very few t-shirts so wearing one usually means your a real fan. Maybe an Allman Brotheres t-shirt too.

rock not the roll 08-29-2004 06:01 PM

An allman brother shirts, Jeff healey and possibly the doors would do nicely.

Woodstock 08-29-2004 06:02 PM

Has a Who and Doors shirt.

lunch998 08-29-2004 06:09 PM

I'm going to have to order a Who shirt off the interent, any good places you guys know of?

magicbus 08-29-2004 06:13 PM

I got a Morrison one, Dark side of the moon (but not the one everyone else has), and a Bob Marley shirt.

Woodstock 08-29-2004 06:13 PM

I have two DSOTM shirts.
i love:
Ac Dc
Creedence clearwater revival
Pink Floyd (just got thier best of CD its awesome!)
Tubular bells!!!!
The beatles

I dont think there will ever be a band as good as the beatles because they had three songwriters who could have all easily been Bigger than anything before but lucky for them they were all in the same band. i dont think as much talent could be packed into one band nowadays. Notice on the later albums they all started to explore in thier own directions but they still made **** good songs.
which songs are on the pink floyd best of CD

thelizardkingcc 08-29-2004 06:21 PM

nah, people who wear tshirts are one thing, but people who claim they are true classic rock fans because they like hendrix (when theyre just wiggers who love rap and sweat black people) piss me off. People are gay.

magicbus 08-29-2004 06:22 PM

Honestly, how could you bring yourself to buy a Pink Floyd Best Of cd. If you want any respect at all, buy all the albums. Best Of. A single cd could not hold the best of Pink Floyd.

Woodstock 08-29-2004 06:25 PM

Astronomy Domine
See Emily Play
The Happiest Days Of Our Lives
Another Brick In The Wall, part two
Echoes
Hey You
Marooned
The Great Gig In The Sky
Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun
Money
Keep Talking
Sheep
Sorrow
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts 1-7)
Time
Fletcher Memorial Home
Comfortably Numb
When The Tigers Broke Free
One Of These Days
Us And Them
Learning To Fly
Arnold Layne
Wish You Were Here
Jugband Blues

thelizardkingcc 08-29-2004 06:25 PM
