I gave him a warning before I go into full-scale pwn mode.

Edit: Has this thread specifically been lagging for anyone else? I think it's getting too big.

Stinkfist2 09-25-2005 03:09 PM

Yup
If ur a drummer and u need to look up tabs for AC/DC, u must really suck.
Yup

Jacaranda 09-25-2005 03:09 PM

The Pit is lagging a bit for me also I think its just the site.

But this is lagging more, now that you mention it.

DeusExMachina 09-25-2005 03:17 PM

Perhaps a new Classic Rock thread should be made? Although it would kind of suck if this one was deleted entirely.

Especially since its been here a while.

Jacaranda 09-25-2005 03:22 PM

Wouldn't they just close it like they do to the Community Threads?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-25-2005 03:23 PM

If this thread was deleted I'd lose more than half my posts. :(

They'll close it once it gets around 60,000 posts.

Lunch 09-25-2005 03:24 PM

I'm sure they wouldn't delete it, they would close this one and start a new one. Like they did with the old Community thread when it got too big.

angusmaster 09-25-2005 03:26 PM

Id lose about 9/10 of my posts.

Walrus Gumboot 09-25-2005 03:26 PM

Me too. More than half, I'm sure

I'm wondering if we could defer all of the n00bs by making a un-Classic Rock name, like The Selzer Thread or something likewise as random, so that everyone knew it was here, but you would have to get a tip off from someone if you were a n00b, thus eliminating all the first page quoting and random bashing

Thats a good idea.

Np:bob dylan-knockin on heavens door.

Lunch 09-25-2005 03:33 PM

We should make it something esoteric that still ties into classic rock in some way. So if the new guys figure out what the thread's about, they are probably intelligent enough to be here.

Jacaranda 09-25-2005 03:35 PM

Like something like The Chuck Berry Inspired Artists thread, because he inspired alot of CR.
Not a good example but if someone though of a really good one that'd be a great idea.

We could do a Bob Dylan thing, since most well-read CR fans have some form of understanding of Dylan

Lunch 09-25-2005 03:38 PM

Or we could try to come up with our favorite songs as a group and name it after one of them.

Walrus Gumboot 09-25-2005 03:40 PM
Or we could try to come up with our favorite songs as a group and name it after one of them.
Or perhaps album titles to be more universal

Jacaranda 09-25-2005 03:42 PM

Thread on the Tracks: like one of those things?
The Freewheelin' Thread
The Threads Are A-Changin' or just The Times They Are A-Changing because CR music is a thing of the past and new things are coming up
/bad ideas.

Lunch 09-25-2005 03:45 PM
Or perhaps album titles to be more universal
That's a better idea. Plus it gives us something to do.

Walrus Gumboot 09-25-2005 04:00 PM

Random Ideas:

Band of Gypsies
Shady Grove
Built to Last
Chronicels, Vol 1
Everybody knows This Is Nowhere
Houses of the Holy
Shelter from the Storm
A Night at the Opera
Shakedown Street*
Terrapin Station
Freak Out!
Hot Rats
Surrealistic Pillow

*My favorite, as it brings to mind the image of an actual place, but most of these names would cause conflict as Ray doesn't like the Grateful Dead, and Schyma doesn't like Led Zeppelin, etc.

angusmaster 09-25-2005 04:03 PM

i think we might all agree on hot rats.

DeusExMachina 09-25-2005 04:08 PM

I think Band of Gypsies is a really good one.

Lunch 09-25-2005 04:09 PM

Actually, I doubt we'll find an album we'd all like to have, or that is great enough for it to be the name of the thread.

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-25-2005 04:20 PM

i actually dont like Hot Rats

/waits for flaming to begin

Walrus Gumboot 09-25-2005 04:26 PM
Actually, I doubt we'll find an album we'd all like to have, or that is great enough for it to be the name of the thread.
We could just use the Kenny G method:

If we can't have something everyone likes, we'll have something nobody likes

Why esle would anyone play Kenny G? Ever?

EDIT: I also like Bad of Gypsies. I think all of us have some common ground with Hendrix, The Beatles and Cream

Lunch 09-25-2005 04:31 PM

Some people aren't big on Cream.

robo2448 09-25-2005 04:31 PM
I think Band of Gypsies is a really good one.
I like that one too. I'm in one of my phases where I worship The Band, so we could do Thread from Big Pink or something like that.

/lame

I just came up with one that isn't so lame, how about A Day in the Life? I think everyone loves that song.

Glitterati 09-25-2005 04:47 PM

Got the new Stones CD today. Pretty great, IMO.]

Random idea: Exile On MX Street :cool::cool:
