When I learn a song, I usualy learn the whole thing. Its rare that I dont.
Right now, Im trying to learn In Mist She Was Standing. Going well so far. only at about the 5 minute mark though. And out of the 2 solos in that part so far, Only attempted the first one, which isnt that bad but sloppy.

I usualy play along with the song on my sound system. A lot funner IMO.

That's what i'll try to do, but the problem is that the rest of the band members are way ahead of me. So they want to play some power metal, and im always like " I cant play that yet" so i need to practice if i want to be able to catch up with them.

I have to finish learning Hallowed Be Thy Name as well...few spots I still have to clean up (not including the solos :upset:)

Man, I've mostly been sight reading intermediate songs out of my bass book and not learning many band songs.

Me too, except I don't know anybody around me who is better then me, hahaha. That's only because my town sucks for music (metal especially). Impatience can be deadly though. If you try to learn too much at once you'll fail and most likely get frustrated, which is only going to make things tougher.

I've been doing nothing but jazz with my teacher so far...

Jazz band last night was damn hard. Played for 2 hours straight with no break.

Got lost quite a few times too, a couple to comical effect. :lol:

I'm probably the best member in my band. :D

My country, the whole, sucks at metal, but there has been some progress lately specially in the progressive genre and there are really good guita players and drummers. That's when I get kind of frustrated because i see like 17 year old guys who play very well when one year younger and im just beginning but it's also like setting a goal, trying to at least play like him, or even better.

So, I made it home alright. Thanks to everyone who left me nice messages on MSN as requested.

And... I'm home to find out that I can't access the Internet or sign on to any instant messaging services on my family's desktop computer. So now I'm using my laptop to access the Internet.

My parents have Norton, and apparently Security is shut "Off," but I can't turn it back "On." A dialog box pops up that says, "Derr, not found, please restart computer." It's freakin' ridiculous.

Your laptop is more convenient, anyway, I thought.

I'm at Uni right now. Studying for an exam, and posting intermittently on MX, also.

Haha, I write my best essays when I'm at the college lab and also browsing MX.

I love playing jazz especially for long periods of time. Last schoolyear I was in the city youth jazz program and we had about 5 hours of jazz every Tuesday. On top of that I had two hours of piano at school so that's 7 hours of piano every Tuesday.

I bet you those scenes weren't even that important. A screenplay equals a page a minute. If every silly "shipper" scene was included then the movie would be 6 hours long.

It's really just people that are dying to get every possible hint of who's gonna shag who. If there aren't enough then the movie's automatically bad.

Prisoner of Askaban suffered for what it left out, because important context was established in the book that the movie missed. But this one appeared to hit many of the important basis.

And c'mon. Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort. How more perfect could you possibly get in terms of a villian choice? The man has played SS-Major Amon Goethe in "Schindler's List" and Ramses in "The Prince of Egypt." The man is a bona-fide badarse.

Considering the book was about twice as long as the previous, and the movie was the same length as the previous, there's bound to be scenes cut out.

I really have no interest in seeing this...but my brothers do. Maybe I'll tag along...free movie. :D

Heh, they cut out important parts in the first two as well :thumb:.

They also did the same for LOTR.

They'll do the same for Narnia.

I've seen all of them except the new HP and Narnia so far, and I don't care, they'll still be good even if they're not perfect.

No book translates perfectly to movie, so if what is missed will offend you, don't bother seeing it because no one wants to hear you bitch about what's not in it. A good movie is a good movie.

As cool as Tom was, that's an acceptable cut because he's pretty irrelevant to the main plotline.

After dinking around with the computer for a good hour or so, I fixed whatever the problem was. With magic. Hooray!

I didn't really like any of the LOTR movies. It just seemed to move too slow, and that leads into being boring. I never read the books either, so that doesn't help.

The second one wasn't too bad though.

Yep. That part in the book just dragged on to long and not too too much was accomplished. He's basically just some all powerful hippie who wantst to eat, drink and make merriment. "Like, hey man, I don't wan't the ring, man"

The only part I didn't like is the 3rd movie ended too Hollywoodish, I wanted the books ending. Hehe, Shire burns...!
