Seriously though, the car insurance thing - weird. Rules out quite a few people.

Retarded Chipple 11-28-2006 04:15 PM

Its good to see they won't insure fairground workers....damn carnies!

Maybe its cos those jobs involve quite a bit of driving. Although there are jobs that involve more driving than those....

http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12529-1074065,00.html Read this review of my car (well, the british equivalent), hahaha.

Corkofski 11-28-2006 04:59 PM

gotta love clarkson....

White Riot! 11-28-2006 05:08 PM

I hate insurance

Loser 11-28-2006 05:20 PM

I like insurance when it works for me.

Sunshine 11-28-2006 05:22 PM

I'm not going to own my own car for a loooong time.

Because I won't be able to pay for insurance.

And I think that, even once I *can* pay for it and I get to be 18, my mom still won't completely give it to me =/

Speaking of.

Birthday #17 in 22 days.

maniac0796 11-28-2006 05:31 PM

kdizze 11-28-2006 06:24 PM

Zildjian 11-28-2006 06:28 PM

Driving is easy....

I hate insurance. $1000 a year to keep my car running

Corkofski 11-28-2006 06:28 PM

Brokensticks 11-28-2006 06:28 PM

But you'd think they'd have tuned before.

12 minutes EPA.

Sunshine 11-28-2006 07:55 PM

My instructor is a silly, goofy man.

Him and his guitarist buddy are doing some experiemental stuff, and they made up a genre name.

"Jam Metal Electronica"

But I thought it sounded clunky and awkward so I called it "Jam Metalonica."

And he became very, very much excited.

It was kind of cool though. They took one of President Bush's speeches and played behind it.

Kosmos Tree 11-28-2006 08:10 PM

Wow, i just returned home from watching "children of men" in cinema.
I don't believe i've ever seen a more impressing and intense dystopia.
Set, actors, story - everything was perfect, definately my top movie 2006 along with Miami Vice.

If you still can, watch it, it's a very intense and even frightening experience.

stevensonmat2 11-28-2006 08:13 PM

Miami vice? seriously?

Kosmos Tree 11-28-2006 08:15 PM

Of course, great action scenes, cool cars, attractive women and fantastic light - Micheal Mann is the grandmaster of illuminating night!
And it was the first movie where Collin Farrell didn't act like a sissy.

stevensonmat2 11-28-2006 08:23 PM

Hmm, two things turned me away from seeing that movie: Collin Farrell(especially after Alexander) and Linkin Park playing in the ad's for it.

Kosmos Tree 11-28-2006 08:29 PM

You definately missed something - especially some very fine and intense action scenes. I also don't really like Collin Farrell very much, but i gave it a try because a friend who had seen the movie highly recommended it and i was not disappointed.

stevensonmat2 11-28-2006 08:31 PM

Perhaps ill catch it on HB0.

Quinto 11-28-2006 08:33 PM

miami vice was without a doubt, the worst movie ive ever seen, the plot was barely there, the acting was terrible for the most part. the only plus was good action scenes.

spirit 11-28-2006 08:35 PM
Perhaps ill catch it on HB0.
Perhaps you'll catch herpes.

stevensonmat2 11-28-2006 08:37 PM

haha perhaps I wont.

catch it on hbo that is.

Kosmos Tree 11-28-2006 08:39 PM

@quinto:
You haven't seen Uwe Boll movies then ;)
Watch "Alone in the dark" and come back talking about bad plots and acting *g

I liked the movie, but people are different, so that's fine.

However, has anyone seen "children of men"?

stevensonmat2 11-28-2006 08:40 PM

is that a sequel to arnold swa4rtzenegger's "juinor" ?

spirit 11-28-2006 08:41 PM
is that a sequel to arnold swa4rtzenegger's "juinor" ?
no, kindergarten cop

Kosmos Tree 11-28-2006 08:49 PM

No, it's a dystopia, women have become infertile and mankind has lost hope and disorder spreads - except in England where military keeps order and immigrants out (or in concentration camps) One day a disillusioned man meets his former wife and she asks him to look out for a pregnant girl.

It's a very dark movie - sometimes even disturbing because of the realistic approach it has. After the movie i needed some time to be able to talk again - quite touching (in a non-lovestorie way) too

Judge Dredd (sp?) was the worst movie Ive ever seen.

Kosmos Tree 11-28-2006 09:04 PM

Rambo is imo the only good Stallone movie, all others are pretty crappy...

The worst movie i've ever seen was "Kagemusha"... it was so boring i didn't even watched it to the end

HEY!!!

Chad Smith.
God people don't shut up about this man.
Okay, he's good we get it.
No need for a 6 page thread on drummerworld from people who praise his greatness.
They use the word groove like it compensates for something.

"He doesn't have chops, but he has groove."
He's pretty "Groovy", but not "Groovy" enough IMO that he can replace chops with it.
Jesus Christ.
Stuff he plays isn't that hard.
Pop in the Californication album, and your playing half the songs correctly even though its the first time you heard them.
And don't give me non of this "But it's about the groove ****."

It isn't that hard to Groove to Scar Tissue.

I kinda agree with you there. His duet with Ian Paice of Deep Purple gets posted alot and so many people are all "omg chad smith". Ian Paice > Chad Smith.

So the english military keeps order out or in concentration camps along with immigrants?

Well, I think he is a good drummer. I just can't take RHCP seriously. Way to boring for me. <shrug> same goes for most of the other rock bands...

Kosmos Tree 11-28-2006 09:20 PM

The government tries to keep immigrants out of the country, those who manage to get in are chased by the military and put into some sort of concentration camps (like the jewish ghettos in WW2).

Electric Requiem 11-28-2006 09:22 PM

I think loser's being the grammar police.

We_Love_Lime 11-28-2006 09:25 PM

No doubt he's a good drummer.
But so is Meg White.

What he said and the way he said it could actually work. It's zeugma or something liek that. A little confusing, but still correct... I think.

ofDooM 11-28-2006 09:28 PM

i think i have pneumonia.
