Check out songs like "Cortez the Killer' and "Pardon My Heart" of Zuma.
Yeah, those two are definitly awesome. |
Whoa, pretty slow here today.
So I'm reading another biography about Bob Dylan but I think I'm going to stop because he has a really boring early life. |
Just downloaded a bunch of albums over the night..
Blind Faith - Blind Faith Bob Dylan - The Gaslight Tapes Bob Dylan - Another Side of Bob Dylan Bob Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home Bob Seger - Ramblin' Gamblin' Man Byrds - Turn! Turn! Turn! Byrds - Ballad of Easy Rider Dr. John - Gumbo Flying Burrito Brothers - Glided Palace of Sin Gram Parsons - GP-Grevious Angel Neil Young - On The Beach Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood The Who - Tommy Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot A good bundle :o |
Who'd you get the Wilco from?
Have you listened to Gram Parsons? He's supposed to have been a very big influence on Keith Richards during the Exile on Mainstreet era. So I wanna hear him! |

Bob Dylan - The Gaslight Tapes
What's this? Is it the bootleg of The Basement Tapes with 5 discs? It's my birthday today. I'm looking forward to getting 3-4 good albums, but I'll get a lot of cash I can buy a bunch more albums with. Birthday's during the week suck, especially when you're stuck doing homework on them. Usually my birthday ends up on a weekend or a Jewish holiday, but this time I don't get the day off from work. Good luck with the hurricane Schyma. A lot of my relatives live down in Houston (my dad grew up there), and so I'm worried about how they'll do in the hurricane. |
Happy Birthday! :thumb:
I like birthdays, and all holidays in general. I really wish it was a holiday right now. |

Nope, not yet. I plan to listen to them tonight.
Well I'm staying here with my mom. I'm not going to be posting until Rita passes. Wish me luck.
Good luck, I'll think of you when the gas prices double  I have been realizing how American the Grateful Dead are. They don't have many follwers (esp. compared to bands of their era) outside of North America, and I have rarely come across anyone from another country that has even heard of them. Some of their songs are pure Americana to say the least (Workingman's Dead) The most amazing thing is that they sustained themselves without having more than one hit, and of course that they started a genre and had a cult following which was more loyal and dedicated than any other band's fan base Phil Lesh once siad "There's nothing more un-American than the Grateful Dead", but I think few things are as American as the Grateful Dead |
What about me?
Does anyone have the Black Keys album "The Big Come UP" or something along the lines of that. |
I consider the Dead a very American band, probably one of the most American rock bands (by my definition).
Robert Plant in four hours.
np- The End
I wish I could see Robert Plant. Does anyone have Bringing It All Back Home that they could upload? I only have it on vinyl and I get the most intense cravings to listen to it while I'm at my computer and in my car, and if you can believe this....I went to five different music stores the other day looking for it and none of them have it! I hate how some music stores will have like eight different greatest hits albums from each artist, but none of their actual albums. God that makes me angry. I honestly can't find a half decent CD in this city I don't already own. |

Thank you very much! I'm so grateful. I just made tea and now I've gotta go study, tomorrow I've got a test in math, physics and info pro. |
I hate those Friday tests, I have two tomorrow myself.
|
It seems like all the teachers in my school all get together and schedule tests on Fridays. This Friday I don't have one. But who cares, I'm goin' to Minnesota for the weekend.
