Misery Signals has probably had more of an affect on my life than any other band out there.

Malice was incredibly profound, and while Jesse's dual layer vocals make me kind of weary sometimes, he was an amazing vocalist and lyricist.

From what I've been told, a large portion of, if not all of Mirror's lyrical content was penned by Zraska before he left. I think Karl did a really good job on mirrors, but through some of the songs something was definitely missing. It became very apparent what it was when Controller came out.

For those of you who are fans of 7A7P because of the rawness might be enticed by MS' self titled album. It's got an early version of TYSEIJ, but the other 5 are unique to the release.

Five Years and In Summary Of What I Am are two of my favorite tracks ever written.

A saw them a couple years back at a shitty club here in Des Moines with Shai Hulud. As he's my favorite drummer, I made it a point to sit behind Branden and it was un****ingbelievable, and Karl did an excellent job live.

It was an EP not an album, but yeah that rules too.

sleepless 05-13-2010 11:54 AM

Whoops.

Smoochy 05-13-2010 01:57 PM

Been listening to Robotosaurus today.

The Feeding 05-13-2010 04:46 PM

I live 2 hours away and diddn't hear about that show, would have made the drive

****

sleepless 05-13-2010 06:04 PM

Yeah, it was in December of 2008 (IIRC) at Vaudeville. They were supposed to have played a show prior while out on tour with AILD and ABR, I think it was...but they cancelled the date at People's Court because evidently they were sick, and the night before they were home in Milwaukee, so yeah...

Btw, The Feeding, do you know the former members of The Feeding?

I'm good friends with Dustin and Lucas.

lim 05-13-2010 06:54 PM

Malice was incredibly profound

The Feeding 05-13-2010 07:11 PM

I've known those dudes for years, Lucas is an amazing drummer.

I was at that AILD, ABR show, Evergreen Terrace opened up

small world, eh?

Manhater is purty good.

sleepless 05-13-2010 08:35 PM

Yep, that was the show, small world indeed. I was pretty pissed because I preordered tickets because of MS, although I am a huge ABR fan and I've seen AILD many times.

Lucas is amazing, I've actually learned more as a drummer from him than I have anyone else (firsthand.)

The Feeding 05-13-2010 08:39 PM

His technique is flawless, and I have never seen a drummer with better posture in my life.
Know any other local bands? Like Sender Receiver is prolly the best one around there, I'm actually in North Liberty (Iowa City suburb) and the scene here sucks. There used to be a band called Labyrinth that was mad shred
