19 million albums doesn't mean he has $20 million, it has to be split amongst the guys, spent on band expenses ect. And don't forget only a small percentage of the record sale actually goes to the band. I'd be suprised if Dave had $2 million.

"Mustaine's suit, which seeks damages to be determined, was filed in response to Ellefson's original action, filed July 12 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, which alleges that co-founding guitarist David Mustaine breached their long-running partnership agreement. He claims Mustaine wrongfully took the lion's share of the band's gross income (estimated at more than $200 million since 1984) for himself and cut Ellefson out of the band's music publishing and merchandise revenues "

Dave is loaded.

fatbandit 10-25-2005 10:51 AM

Dudes, you know you get money from record deals too? ;)

Robbie Williams recently got signed in England for £80m. That's a huge contract, but if 'Deth got even a fraction of that for like a 6 album deal, they'd be loaded. Plus merchandise, music sales and the money Dave probably makes on like... Gigantour.

:smash:

Jev 10-25-2005 10:55 AM

Hmm I guess so. Can't somebody post it on the Megadeth forums?
"Dave how much money do you have?"

lightningmetal666 10-25-2005 11:57 AM

Dave: Well, let's just say I can have any girl I want. ;)

Britton 10-25-2005 02:26 PM

And that's all you need

Britton 10-25-2005 03:09 PM

other then breaking peoples lgs and stuff

 me too. I dont know what to say.

Britton 10-25-2005 03:11 PM

LoL

My friend and I make up all these jokes of Dave breaking peoples legs...
it's almost one of those things you have to see to get

Jev 10-25-2005 03:24 PM

Because he broke that dude who dissed Lars' leg right. Methinks he should've just saved us all and broken Lars' so he could never play drums again.

Britton 10-25-2005 03:32 PM

That would have been so cool!

I wonder what Tallica would be like without him?

RustedPieces 10-25-2005 03:36 PM

There probably wouldn't be much of a Metallica without Lars. He is a crappy drummer but he is a good business man.

Britton 10-25-2005 03:37 PM

Yea..that's true.

I bet Dave could have drummed better then Lars (I wouldn't be suprised
Dave has talant)

Jev 10-25-2005 03:51 PM

You never know, I'd say he probably is seeing as he writes a lot of drums for Megadeth ( I think)

Britton 10-25-2005 04:01 PM

I havnt heard that but The man is amazing with music

Jev 10-25-2005 04:16 PM

Well on a hell of a lot of songs the only credits are "Mustaine"

Britton 10-25-2005 04:20 PM

Yep. that's true

I want to see Dave and James H jam together

fatbandit 10-25-2005 04:40 PM

Drummers are often not given writing credits, in many genres and bands.

Just a sad fact.

However... In the Remastered RIP, he mentions about 'My Creation' that it was a beat he'd been playing around with since High School or something stupid like that. So I guess he drums.

Well I guess after being around drums for 20+ years you are bound to learn at some point.

FatalEnergy 10-25-2005 04:51 PM

Then why does Lars have songwriting credits on almost every Metallica song?

Jev 10-25-2005 04:59 PM
Then why does Lars have songwriting credits on almost every Metallica song?
He writes lyrics I think and tries to write guitar parts. And the drum tracks.

fatbandit 10-25-2005 05:17 PM

I didn't say no drummers get recognition. Just some don't get writing credits.

And he arranges the songs, like structure and stuff. Him and James write most of them. He tells James what sounds like arse.

How would he know what sounds like arse? Doesn't he ever listen to his own drumtracks?

Britton 10-25-2005 07:24 PM

Owned!

Okay back to MegaDeth

smart blockhead 10-25-2005 09:50 PM

Do you guys think Dave is as good of a lead guitarist as Kirk?

Britton 10-25-2005 09:56 PM

He's not as good a lead player but he is a better all around player.

And can we please stop with these conversations

Apocalyptic Raids 10-25-2005 10:08 PM

I think Lars gets writing credits because he helps arrange the songs.

smart blockhead 10-25-2005 10:11 PM

What do you guys think is the best album cover? I like Rust In Peace and the original KIMB.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-25-2005 10:12 PM

Probably Rust In Peace, although none of Megadeth's artwork is particularly great.

MAthiAS 10-25-2005 10:15 PM

Youthanasia and the Remastered KIMB.

Sph 10-25-2005 10:17 PM

The System has Failed is cool but the best is probably Rust in Peace

smart blockhead 10-25-2005 10:17 PM

I was just watching the Hangar 18 video if anyone wants to see it.

lucstone 10-25-2005 10:18 PM

I think Cryptic Writings was way too under rated. That album was good, man!!! It IS good!!!

smart blockhead 10-25-2005 10:21 PM

I don't really care for much of their stuff post RIP.

FlyingPaul_83 10-25-2005 10:32 PM
I don't really care for much of their stuff post RIP.
CTE? TSHF?

those albums are great.

oh yeah CW?

Same as Rust in Peace.. Polaris, he says it was his drum rhythm (At least for the intro of the included [Demo] song), I think he took drumming lessons some time in his life?

FatalEnergy 10-25-2005 11:04 PM

He probably programmed a drum machine to do that rhythm and then told Menza to play it like it was on the drum machine. Anyway, how is that "My Creation" song? I don't have the RIP remaster
