Hey, since me and a few other guys in the Metallica thread have decided to make a cover song, other Official threads want to make a song as well. Maybe each thread could have a cover and then we can have a contest or something?

This seemed like a cool idea to a lot of people. I know that people in Tool, Opeth, and Megadeth have talked about it.

If we are going to do this, I would be happy to run it.

Bartender: you can unsticky the YSI thread, I have no problems with that. Ken said he was going to do it after a couple days, but since it's been more or less a success so far, he must have left it. But you may unsticky it, I have no qualms about it.

EddieVanHalen769 and I would like to start a thread dedicated to the uploading/discussion of rare EP's, out-of-print tapes/cd's, 7", and basically rare material.

It could be formatted somewhat like the definitive albums thread, with uploads said material at the end. I think it would be a cool way to get some rare material, start some good discussion, and promote new/unknown bands.

It wouldn't just be a thread full of these posts though. Discussion would be what would make it interesting, rather than scanning a thread with similar posts for a demo you want.

If this doesn't get approved, I'll just end up making a thread on a bunch of different rare bands, :p.

It's no more illegal than the Yousendit Thread or uploading sample songs. It's probably less likely to cause any trouble either, because the demos, etc that I'm talking about are either generally going to be out of print, by a very unknown band, or very limited anyway.

Anything that might cause trouble that was uploaded could be deleted, and I could add in the first post not to upload anything common.
