I'm too young to have a preference. I'm at the age where whatever you give me will work.

What's the job?
cashier at a grocery store. its only going to be part time so i can only work like 17 hours a week, but ill take it seeing as its the only place where you dont have to be 16 to get hired.

Jim, im guessing you go very light on your drinking.

Double Bass Jim 08-22-2005 07:17 AM

I don't drink at all actually never have once.

Plan B. 08-22-2005 07:34 AM

How very... un-Bonham of you.

Drum Phil 08-22-2005 07:34 AM

Jack Daniels or Jamesons irish whisky, straight from the bottle (or if im feeling classy, a hip flask) Unfortunately i tend to go through a bottle..... I bet my liver hates me.

Cant beat a bit of vodka or brandy now and then like. Or absinthe (80% EEK) :)

Futuro 08-22-2005 08:58 AM
I don't drink at all actually never have once.
easier to drum sober ;)

Massik Kretal 08-22-2005 09:23 AM

Arite well I'm off to drum lessons....

spike9908 08-22-2005 10:02 AM

well im back from the interview. i sware the guy that interviewed me was a high school dropout. one of my questions was "how does science apply to cashiering?" what the fuck was the only thought that went through my head.

You are not missing out on anything. I have drank a few times, feeling dimwitted and uncoordinated does just not feel right to a dedicated drummer. The long term mental effects are cumulative, and I am not willing to trade a permanent piece of my mind for a few hours of intoxication.

I have never smoked a cigarette though, and never will.

Josiah 08-22-2005 10:45 AM

Girly men.

When you're a baby you drink milk, then you grow up to be a man and drink beer.

Drum Phil 08-22-2005 10:48 AM

Look on the upside, you could turn out like me :-/ hard spirits, ciggaretes, weed an speed :( Ive pulled myself off speed though and am startin to go straight. Cept for maybe the occasional drink

Oh yeah, would you guys consider £200 a good price for a 1980's ludwig?

Hello. New user to these forums. My name is Nick, I'm 15 years old and I live in Tennessee. I've been playing drum for roughly 7 months. I love music. Metal and hardcore (subgenres included) are my two favorite types of music. I listen to other stuff also. I like dating and going out with girls for fun, but I like relationships also. I'm about to make a major upgrade from my kit and cymbals. I have a B average in school and plan on going to Berkely College.

Real men only drink the blood of a freshly killed deer under a full moon. No wait, I haven't been thinking right ever since that wolf bit me last night.

Win A Rabbit 08-22-2005 03:09 PM

yay i just threw up again.

well i'm in the middle of making an arabian techno song. it sounds very cool, very arabian.

and i'm listening to my relient k cd which i just found unfer a pile of socks. i only listened to this cd once or twice, i'm giving it another chance.

Voodoo Rabbit 08-22-2005 03:11 PM

Arabian Techno!....

A band that play that kind of music added me to their 'Friends List' on Myspace....Which was surprsing because I have no friends on the site (well, except three or four people)....

And I just opened up the back door to the house (I live in) and I thought it was snowing, but on closer inspection it turned out to be a huge cloud of bloody midgies....

Massik Kretal 08-22-2005 04:00 PM

If d means a half note then what does d = 120 bpm?

It says it in my book and I dunno if it's 60bpm in quarters or 240bpm.

spike9908 08-22-2005 04:04 PM

120 halfs a min. would be 240 quarters a min.

Massik Kretal 08-22-2005 04:06 PM

Oh **** thats fast. I have to play eighth notes to 240bpm so that becomes 480bpm in quarters!!

Win A Rabbit 08-22-2005 04:11 PM

well my arabian techno song took a bit of a turn. i had it as all arabian, then just drums for 4 bars, then the next part was part arabian, part evil sounding, then i was messing around with the evil sounding thing and got an evil mario thing going on. it sounds amazing. who'd have thought arabian music and mario music would have been so good together?

Massik Kretal 08-22-2005 04:45 PM

You know what sounds awesome. Metal mixed with some arabaian music.

The Fiction We Live 08-22-2005 04:46 PM

Pics of my new ride in a little bit.. just got home from my friends house now I'm waiting for an e-mail.

I just got back from seeing Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge. Damn was that awesome. Carter had a mini drum solo in Dream Girl, and started out Lover Lay down with a solo, and when they played Crush at the end he did his typical triplet pattern between the toms and the snare. On top of that, the Gorge Amphitheater was spectacularly beautiful, topped only by Red Rocks in my opinion (maybe some others that I haven't been to aswell). Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera, but I'm sure you can find pictures of the concert in the next few weeks if you look. If I find any I'll post 'em.

Setlist from DMBand.com

Pantala Naga Pampa
Rapunzel
Dream Girl
Hello Again
Lover Lay Down
Bartender
Louisiana Bayou
Grey Street
Out Of My Hands
Say Goodbye
Drive In Drive Out
Hunger For The Great Light
Dancing Nancies
Warehouse
Blackbird
Dreaming Tree [tease]
All Along The Watchtower

what you get??

Win A Rabbit 08-22-2005 05:37 PM

well i just modified my set once again. i brought my little timable snare up behind my 13" tom, it's alot more convenient having it there instead of on the left of my hats. this makes it alot easier to use my marching snare drum too. here's the link, to my magical kit.

it's so comfortable to play, and everything's all nice and close. my rack tom is tilted the slightest bit, and my floor toms are perfectly flat.
