Meh, they'll be back.
true, true...hopefully they'll play Newcastle, I'll go down with a load of mates if they do. |
can anyone suggest any songs of black sabbath without ozzy.a lot of people might say that ozzy is better but i heard some songs without ozzy and sounds good.please!
|
I'm going on Sunday.
Also the lyrics to Heaven and Hell are very typical of Dio's song style, it may be worth a few of you guys checking out Rainbow to see how similar that stuff is to his run in Sabbath. And Dio has a MUCH better voice than Ozz.
Of course he does although I just prefer the sound of Ozzy's voice. But I think the sabbath singer with the most talent is Tony Martin. |

Well the only ones I own are Tyr and Dehuminizer both awesome albums. Tyr has Tony Martin and Dehuminizer has Dio, but Dehumizer is very different to anything either Sabbath or Dio has ever done so if youre looking for Dio stuff get Heaven and Hell. Which reminds me does anyone here have a copy of heaven and hell thats not a 96 remaster? Cause if there arnt any other remasters im gonna have to buy the vinyl. |
Not strictly true; Tony and Bill came from a once very popular band called Mythology, Geezer was in a band called Rare Breed. Ozzy's advert was for him as a singer - he auditioned for the vocal role in Rare Breed but the band fell apart before he ever performed with them. Ozzy's ad was still in the shop window after Mythology broke up and that's when Tony and Bill saw it and went round to see him. And of course, for a while they were called Polka Tulk Blues Band, then Earth Blues Band, then Earth, then Black Sabbath.
Iommi says on last supper that when he went it see ozzy he said that they already had a guitarist. |

Does matter about how much better singing talent they have? If we go like that Martin was the best singer sabbath had. When was the last time we had discussions like this? |
lol, although you do have to marvel at the sheer talent Martin has.
|
I was listening to a couple songs off of born again, good god i don't like Gillan's voice!
Also Tony Martin is a fucking awesome singerr. :thumb: |
Whats wrong with Gillans voice?
|
No wait sorry it was Rob Halford the people i got the songs from just said it was from born again...sorry Gillan i havnt listend to any of his stuff.
|
You don't like Rob Halford? Do you mean singing Sabbath's songs or you just don't like him in general?
|
I find his voice annoying, especially on that version of supernaut andy posted a while ago.
|
I never heard it. But anyway did you hear about the gig Sabbath just did in England?
|
The secret one?
|
Yeah I think so it was just a small one. Anyhoo apparently during Into The Void Ozzy started singing a verse from Electric Funeral.
|
lol, i wonder if that was a mistake or not...
|
You hate Halford
|
lol, i wonder if that was a mistake or not...
It was, apparently Geezer just started laughing and Iommi had this look on his face that said "What the fuk are you doing?" |
You hate Halford
Don't hare him, hate his vocal style, that annoying high pitched thing pisses me off. |
It was, apparently Geezer just started laughing and Iommi had this look on his face that said "What the fuk are you doing?"
 At least he did it here and not at download. But then again Iommi always has that expression on his face. |
lol I suppose. I once heard a story about some guy who said Iommi looks Italian, and Iommi knocked him out.
|
I wouldn't put it psat him.
Anyone know the names of the rhythm guitarist and saxaphone player that played for sabbath during the earth days? |
No do you? oh and I thought they only played for polka tulk and then left before the name change.
|
I've got no idea, I could look it up though.
FunFact: Ozzy didn't play harmonica on Never Say Die!, someone else did. If anyone has the cd and the notes credit Ozz for the harmonica they're wrong. :) I came about <---> that close to going to the secret show, but I wasn't allowed because it was 4 days before my Physics AS. |
Hey look, its another Size 7 post about our covers!
'sup. Ok...we still haven't really gotten our arses in gear for this, I'm guessing that I'm being left to choose the song(s) so...we'll rip-off the Iron Maiden thread and do about 4 or 5. Sound good? If any of you guys want to do drums/vocals post here quick, otherwise I'll do them (drums) on Cubase when I go back to school in about a weeks time. Songs, in order. Heaven and Hell/Paranoid ( ) NIB Iron Man The Warning (only a small chunk of it) So there we have it. I think i_am_jimmy_page is doing guitars, but if anyone of you more regular folk want to do it then that should be alright I guess... Anyway, discuss. |

Wow. |
Hey does anyone know if Black Sabbath will play at Live 8 like they did with Live Aid?
|
http://guitargeek.com/rigview/476/
Wow.
I have no idea what all that means but it looks complicated... |
No do you? oh and I thought they only played for polka tulk and then left before the name change.
Im not really sure when they played it says their names in either the reunion album cover or their old manager says it on the interview with him on vol 1 dvd. |
Have you seen ozzy from that era? His hair is hilarious.
