What are the other concepts on albums like Morningrise, Orchid, BWP, ****ation and Deliverance?

I'm trying to peice together a concept for D&D, though Mikeal said there wasn't really one...

I'm starting to get a hint for what the GR story is. It seems to be about a self righteous individual's steady decline into moral decay. Eventually, the character makes some sort of unholy pact....for what reason, I haven't been able to ascertain. There seems to be alot of sentiments of dam nation ( ;) ) and atonement ( ;) ), though.

The last song isn't a part of the concept, right?

I always hate it when they edit the song to fit video requirements. Oh well it was probably part of opeth's record deal. At least the cd rules!

I can't stop listening to "The Baying Of The Hounds," it's just too good, every single second of it.

grand conjuration is a very good and dark song to me^^
i also like circles of tyrants

Hours of Wealth by far. Mikael's vocals and the final solo are just too perfect.

of course demons of the fall is a great song ,too!^^

It wouldn't be very polite to play Opeth songs to friends who don't like it...the vocals are a bit much. I was addicted to Godhead's Lament today (just for the acoustic middle section, really) and my roommate kept coming in while it was playing. I don't think he digs death screams.

My friends are all very open-minded about music. None of them are a fan of the death growls, but some of them like the rest of the music. I don't have many real friends though. Friends to me, basically translates into anyone that I regularly jam with :lol:

On "Ghost Of Perdition" is spectacular.

The Grand Conjuration video is friggin' creepy. It reminded me of a Rammstein video, where it's all scary and weird and then something downright goofy just pops in (a toilet? Come on. I thought this song was about someone summoning Satan)

Ghost of Perdition is my favorite as of right now, but The Baying of The Hounds might take it's spot soon.

On everyone elses copy of Ghost Reveries, did the logo and the title come on the album cover? Mine just has the artwork without either of those.

The guitar parts to those lyrics really remind me of Morningrise and the other earlier albums. But yeah, that's an awesome song.
