Shattered_Future 02-20-2006 01:43 AM

That looked good, but lack of money forces me to not buy it...

Riva 02-20-2006 01:46 AM

I went to another city just to buy it! Shame on you, shame shame shame.

What would Tim think?

Shattered_Future 02-20-2006 01:47 AM

Would he rather have me BUY it, or STEAL it?

3 guesses.

That's on top of my list, once I gets me some spendin moneyr...

dUSK 02-20-2006 01:50 AM

Heh, I bought Resurrection twice just so that I could get that poster/sticker/Under The Rising Sun CD. The Legend of Huma sounds awesome live. I also picked up One Step Beyond last week, which I thought was pretty impressive.

/has since used neither the poster or sticker.

Riva 02-20-2006 01:52 AM

That and Resurrection sound the most awesome live.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 02:00 AM

I got the Under The Rising Sun DVD for xmas. I love how you get the audio on another CD. Every DVD should do that.

Agreed on Resurrection being the best on that live album. That, and Insanity's Fall.

NP: Judas Priest - Nightcrawler

dUSK 02-20-2006 02:01 AM

On Under The Rising Sun I thought that Netherlife, Lost In The Light and I Am Death were done better than Resurrection. But that might just be me. Overall, it's an excellent CD.

The only downfall that I can think of is that the part in Insanity's Fall where the crowd does the "Ooooh~ Oh Oh Oooh" part isn't really loud enough. That's not Dungeon's fault though, as it's more something that gives you a great feeling from being a part of it. I doubt any band could capture something like that on record.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 02:04 AM

Yeah. I actually like Insanity's Fall on there better than the record. I like how it's sped up. Going back and listening to it on the album it seems so slow in comparison :(

dUSK 02-20-2006 02:15 AM

While we're on the topic of Dungeon, Lord Tim did and interview with PyroMusic a while ago where he mentioned that the album art for the European/US release of Resurrection was one of his favourite Dungeon covers. Anyone know what it looks like? I don't think I've seen it.

Link to interview

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 02:24 AM

The only cover art I could find on amazon was the special edition, which also has cool cover art. My standard re-release cover art is kinda average in comparison (no offence to Tim)

It's a shame how he mentions they were about to set up an online merch store before the breakup :(

Hopefully there will be one for Lord. Speaking of Lord, I need to get A Personal Journey.

dUSK 02-20-2006 02:27 AM

That's the Special Edition. Maybe it's the same cover.

Yeah, that was a shame. I asked Dungeon on myspace about getting a shirt for my brother (I've turned him into quite the Dungeon fan) last night, but they sold them all at the last gig.

A Personal Journey is great. My next thing to track down is original copy of Resurrection. I'd love to hear how it originally sounded.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 02:30 AM

Yeah that would be interesting.

Good luck with finding one though :-\

Also, did you see my edit?

Riva 02-20-2006 02:33 AM

The one on Amazon.co.uk is the same as Amazon.com, so I imagine the European cover art is the same.

dUSK 02-20-2006 02:33 AM

I just saw the edit then.

 Tim made that album cover himself, how dare you! :p The special edition is superior though, which is probably why it was used for the special edition.

I know it's going to be hard to find. I'm going to try and keep an eye out for it on eBay, but even then I'll have no way of paying for it online. :upset:

JausmetalJ 02-20-2006 02:48 AM

I could do it, if you paid my dad :D
Just a thought.

APJ is awesome.

Have you heard tracks off it at all yet?

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 02:56 AM

heh, I have the same shirt :P

Yeah I heard the ones on the new Lord myspace page.

http://www.myspace.com/lordaus (I think that's the url)

Dungeon fanboys have overrun the thread :-D

dUSK 02-20-2006 03:01 AM

I take it that's James's default picture, and if so, I have the same shirt as well. :amaze:

Was this regarding the Resurrection original?!

I don't think it's the first time this has happened...

Alright. You should add me to msn again so we can discuss it further (if I ever find it, of course). I have a new email, gregbyers @ gmail.com
I wear that shirt so often awell.
Me too.

Side story: A week or two ago I was standing on a sidewalk at some traffic lights waiting to cross the street, whislt wearing my Dungeon shirt. Anyway, as the light turns green a bunch of traffic starts moving, and there was a guy on a Harley at the front. Next thing I know he is riding of, screaming "DUNGEON!!" and with one hand raising the metal horns in the air. The guy had the massive long metal hair, and was wearing the crazy leathers and all that as well. It made my day. \m/

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 03:21 AM

It can be called that during the times when we are likely to be on :-D

Thats pretty ****ing awesome.

I was wearing it to a party the other night.

Ok, back up a bit. at about 6:30pm, I left my dads in FTG (suburb) and was heading to the train station, and as I was crossing the road, I see a dude with a CoF tee on. I don't think much of it, but I get to the party, and about 3 hours later, the Dude rocks up and comments on my shirt.

It was awesome, someone knew Dungeon.

Lord Tim 02-20-2006 07:04 AM

And now I wield my mighty sword of much replying! *swish!*
The only downfall that I can think of is that the part in Insanity's Fall where the crowd does the "Ooooh~ Oh Oh Oooh" part isn't really loud enough.
I agree! I mixed and produced the audio from that CD and you should have heard the audio tapes we got from Club Citta for that. Dreadful.

There was already tech problems all over the place with mics cutting out, etc. so we did have to fix one or two things up in the studio later to make it workable, but the worst thing was the audio that came out of the main speakers was mixed so badly, and it was so loud, that we had to turn it way down or it would have overpowered the main mix on the CD.

So that's why. :)
The only cover art I could find on amazon was the special edition, which also has cool cover art. My standard re-release cover art is kinda average in comparison (no offence to Tim)
When were were doing the album, we basically were told we had no budget whatsoever so I had to pull something out of my *** at the last minute. The artist we were working with really let us down so the only thing left to do was to come up with something quickly myself.

I thought it came up OK considering the time I had and what I had to work with. Believe it or not, the lava monster that's climbing out of the hole in the ground was my girlfriend kneeling on her bed and taken with a crappy digital camera. And all of the guys standing around the pit were of a member of the LORD forums! :p I tried to keep a strong link to the original cover as much as I could too, which added to the cheese of it, but had a better feel of legacy.

Having said all of that, I much prefer the LMP release cover (which they decided they had money for, after I went to so much ****ing trouble - thanx, spatulas!) that was done by ProgArt Media. The only thing that does annoy me about it is that as cool as the art is, it really has no relation to the concept of the album at all.

Indeed there will be! I'll be getting out webmaster to work on that soon. :)

That is good. Nothing is worse than re-release which completely disregards the original. Re-recordings more so.
Indeed there will be! I'll be getting out webmaster to work on that soon. :)
Sweet!

NP: Holy Diver is playing on intensity \m/

also Tim, unrelated question, but what size guitar picks do you use? I've tried about a thousand lately and none are doing it for me :(

Lord Tim 02-20-2006 07:21 AM

I use Jim Dunlop nylon .73mm.

I actually bend them too, which I don't really understand but they feel better to me.

Each to their own. :)

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 07:32 AM

Indeed. I use the .77 triangle shaped ones. They go pretty good.

I tried the stubbys but the always slip. :-\

Lord Abortion 02-20-2006 08:06 AM

As far as the live album goes, I love the live versions of Traumatised and the absolutely Godly I am Death.

Have you ever heard In Flames' Live At Club Citta? Terrible production also.

Lord Tim 02-20-2006 11:00 PM

Oh really?

Hmm...

Yeah, we had really little control about what we were getting and I can't say we were impressed when we finally heard it. :(

Took a LOT of work to clean up!

Riva 02-20-2006 11:07 PM

Tim, I just read that interview you did with Pyromusic. Great pants! :p

Mate I recommed Dava picks. Very good, not cheap 1 buck a pick and they wear down fairly quick. But they are specaily mouled and all this bull and rubbish but ends up to be a great pick. I find a hard pick with ability to bend in the middle is what you want. Or something kinda soft. I find hard picks too hard to alt pick, gallop and sweep etc.
