Beck's Odelay
- I'm planning on doing a three dimensional project based upon the song "Derelict"
Which song is that? The dusty country/hip-hop one? Actually, that can describe a lot of them, but I don't know most of the songs by heart. |
Track 5. After The New Pollution and before Novacane.
It's a slower paced song with eclectic percussion throughout. Then it transforms into a characteristically Asian sounding instrument. You'd recognize it mostly for it's chorus "Blow back, derelict wind, lay my soul in the foul of the air". Ack. Just listen to it, my description is poor. |
I was recently very sick of all my music and was only listening to the radio so i went out and bought Queens Of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf. Then my mate burnt me David Bowie - CHANGESBOWIE, and now another friend is going to burn me NOFX - Pump up the Valuum and Punk in Drublic. Suddenly I have too much to listen to.
I am sorry for wasting your time with this stupid post. |
Calexico - Convict Pool
Gruvis Malt - With the Spirit of the Traffic Jam Mare - s/t (they need to hurry up and record some more, 5 songs ain't enough goshdarnit!) Beatles - Sgt. Peppers, Revolver |
Been listening to some new leaked and live tracks by NIN. Some are looking excellent, some are not. Only time will tell (two weeks!). The Line Begins to Blur seems to be a standout track. Violent and heavy as ever.
I've also been listening to Gatsby's American Dream, Mozart on Crack, and Wrecking Krew. I need to get that new Patton record with the X-Ecutioners, I saw a hip-hop doco on scratching and they featured. Roc-Raida is awesome. |
I'm angry so I'm listening to metal and some Converge.
|
^ I usually listen to Converge when I'm kinda sad.
Today I feel like listening to Gerogerigegege - Tokyo Anal Dynamite Yes - Close to the Edge Out Hud - Let Us Never Speak of It Again Comeback Kid - Turn it Around xPOSIx |
After watching "The Graduate" in film class, I'm in a kinda Simon and Garfunkel mood. My interest is renewed in creating a walking bassline for that Mrs. Robinson song. It just cries out for one!
|
I'm diggin the All-American Rejects, The Hives, and Red Hot Chili Peppers
|
the bass solo in Higher Ground owns me, even though i dont play bass...

Bright Eyes and Neutral Milk Hotel: The pinnacle of musical enjoyment?
|
I'd probably enjoy Bright Eyes if he didn't record his vocals while sat in the world's coldest room.
|
NMH >>>>>>>> Bright Eyes

Frizzle Fry is a great album. Do you have the version with the Residents covers at the end? I was just wondering, since you mentioned that band as well.

Nope, but I've heard it before. If it weren't for that cover I'd never know who the Residents are. |

What Roots album should I get?
|
I haven't heard anything by the Roots that I could recommend. I would suggest staying away from Illadelph Halflife. I also have Do You Want More?!?!kjio1j./;kd, but I never gave it much of a chance.

Ghost
Hot Snakes (my Peel Sessions 7" arrived, huzzah!) Queens of the Stone Age (who?) I saw the Sahara Hotnights a few nights ago. They were surprisingly good. |
Maudlin of the Well - Bath
Black Eyes - Cough(thanks WRM) Adrian Belew - Side One and half of The Glow, Pt. 2 by The Microphones. It has piqued my interest so far. I'm going to see if it's worth all the raving it's gotten.
Ghost
They don't happen to be Japanese, do they? |
Yep, thats them.
They put TMV to shame. |
