A night full of joys and dissapointments. The night started off pretty bad. They are touring with Los Lonely Boys, who I think are great. I would go to a concert just to see them. But for some reason, they were unable to play. So they got some other crappy warm up band called the Bottle Rockets. So finally, The Allman Brothers came on. They started off with Stateboro Blues and One Way Out. I thought it was going great. Then, the next 5 or so songs were all newer. Now don't get me wrong, I thought the playing was great, everything sounded so beautiful, and all that, but I was there to hear the classics. The second half of the concert started off with Midnight Rider, so I thought we were back on track, but they just played some more newer songs. The encore was Melissa. I was slighty pissed that they didn't play Whipping Post, Jessica, Hot Lanta, or Elizabeth Reed, but I understood that they weren't just playing for me. Overall, it was an incredible experience and one of the best concerts I have ever attended, but I can only think that it could have been sooo much better.

Must say, I like their stuff. I have the first CD, and might be interested in getting the 2nd if I could ever find it.

EDIT: Also, I love Harrison's solo efforts.

Okay, so... I was with my mommy at the mall (stfu) and there were at least 30 kids with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Ac/dc etc.. shirts. my god! I mean I knew it had become trendy to like music from the 70s but this is just out of control.

I could out quiz all of those people on any of the bands that they wear on their shirts. I always hated the word poser, until now!

Woodstock 08-29-2004 03:17 PM

What can people like us wear to not be posers.

Maybe lesser known band shirts.

Slayer145 08-29-2004 03:18 PM

Classic rock is awsome especcially bands like AC/DC, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Guess Who (from my hometown), Alice Cooper. And Augest 30, Van halen is coming here which will kick ***.

I like wearing my shirt but do not want to be included of that stupid group :( (i own all the the Zeppelin Albums and I have the Dvd)

Wow, that would make you the only person who is allowed to wear a shirt and like a band. Congrats :thumb:

Broken Arrow 08-29-2004 04:09 PM

I also like wearing concert shirts because it actually shows your a true fan and not only buy the shirt because your classic rock loving friend(can't say i have any) listens to them.

The only people I know who wear zeppelin shirts are me and another guy but he's a real fan. But next year i'll know freaking 50 people who aren't fans but wear the shirts.

Broken Arrow 08-29-2004 04:26 PM

^you should get Jeff Healey shirt i bet alot of people don't have those.

Against Miik! 08-29-2004 04:27 PM

Because whether or not you have a t shirt proves whether or not you really like or know anything about the band.

And another thing I forgot to mention. They were recording the concert. Live album maybe?
