Both, actually. Parallels is great for small tasks like using a program you like that isn't made for Mac (make sure you've got at least 2GB of RAM, though, it's a pain in the *** otherwise), but it doesn't have 3D graphics support yet so playing games on it that are relatively new either sucks or is impossible.

That said, using bootcamp isn't too inconvenient, you just have to restart your computer and shave off a chunk of your harddrive for space on the Windows partition. It will be better when they release Leopard because when you restart to use Windows, it will just put the Mac side on sleep so you don't lose your progress in any programs you were running.

It's really nice having access to any operating system ever all on one computer.
Yeah, I figure I would mostly just use Bootcamp because emulating windows seems like it could be hit or miss.

Is Bootcamp out of Beta stage yet though? Regardless, I don't plan on using Windows much once I get my Mac.
You weren't REALLY drunk if you can remember how much you drank

I know how much beer I had because the drinks were 3 dollars and I spent 40. The rest I pieced together from pictures and blurry memories

pulseczar 08-12-2007 05:33 PM

my computer has 239MB of RAM... is that why it sucks?

This is why I'm not looking forward to going to bars

I love going to bars, I just usually pre-drink. I didn't plan on getting that drunk until I got to the club and realized I hate clubs. There was a smoke machine and everything.

Lunch 08-12-2007 05:40 PM

Bars are a great time for sure, but no matter how much I drink before going I'm the kind of person who would just keep spending money on beer

I use it for playing games every once in a while, and for watching .avi movies with subtitle files because I have yet to find a competent subtitle program for Mac.

yeah for as much as you pay for 4 shot of something you could buy a bottle of the same stuff. i.e. I bought 5 shots of jager the other night and it came to about $35-38. you can buy a 5th for almost $25

VLC? I'm sure the mac version is the same, and with VLC you just open the subtitle file alongside the video.

Kage 08-12-2007 05:49 PM

I've tried that but it never fucking worked. I always thought it should because VLC is the cure-all for all things media, but for some reason I always got an error. Lemme try it again.

Tyler 08-12-2007 05:51 PM

Are they .srt files or some weirdass format?

I watched Delicatessen the other night with VLC, subtitles worked great.

Kage 08-12-2007 05:52 PM

Yeah, not working.

They are indeed .srt files.

EDIT: Okay, I figured out how to use them.

It has only occurred to me now in this drunken state how fucking awesome potatoes are.

GenuineImitation 08-12-2007 06:09 PM

I wish I had money to get drunk with. I have 50 dollars in the bank, college starts up again in a few weeks and I havent gotten paid yet because of some stupid computer glitch.

Deathcrush 08-12-2007 06:19 PM

Anyway, does anyone agree with me about potatoes?

masterchaos 08-12-2007 06:22 PM

yes I love them. not a huge fan of just a baked 'tatoe but otherwise they're fantastic

Riva 08-12-2007 06:22 PM
IronChef Foicite: well, there's a lot of reasons
IronChef Foicite: i mean, roses only last like a couple weeks
IronChef Foicite: and that's if you leave them in water
IronChef Foicite: and they really only exist to be pretty
IronChef Foicite: so that's like saying
IronChef Foicite: "my love for you is transitory and based solely on your appearance"
IronChef Foicite: but a potato!
IronChef Foicite: potatos last for ****ing ever, man
IronChef Foicite: in fact, not only will they not rot, they actually grow **** even if you just leave them in the sack
IronChef Foicite: that part alone makes it a good symbol
IronChef Foicite: but there's more!
IronChef Foicite: there are so many ways to enjoy a potato! you can even make a battery with it!
IronChef Foicite: and that's like saying "i have many ways in which I show my love for you"
IronChef Foicite: and potatos may be ugly, but they're still awesome
IronChef Foicite: so that's like saying "it doesn't matter at all what you look like, I'll still love you"
That's what your post reminded me of, Mark.

GenuineImitation 08-12-2007 06:22 PM

I love potatoes, unless it is baked without sour cream. I dont like Sweat Potatoes though.

For all I know, my last two glasses were empty.

I think you may be slightly passed a buzz when you are pouring a drink without opening it first.
