I dunno, you can hear the bass so much more now. It's nice.

Tyler 01-08-2008 07:02 PM

You can hear the bass pretty well anyways though, it's shockingly nice to hear.

Static 01-08-2008 07:02 PM

Well, it's nice to hear the tapping part near the end so defined.

Tyler 01-08-2008 07:04 PM

I still think it's pretty defined but that does sound awesome. The bass is still really audible compared to Kezia, though at times the low-end gets drowned out by the non-stop riffing and guitar dubbing.

illpressureurhinges1 01-08-2008 07:07 PM

Rody's vocals are amazing. Instrumental PTH songs seem pointless to me.

Tyler 01-08-2008 07:08 PM

I wouldn't say pointless. But then again you were saying you dont understand the point behind instrumental music in general so yeah.

But Rody's vocal melodies tie a lot of it together. Like the narration in Arrested Development.

GOme 01-08-2008 08:41 PM

I don't like Rodsters' new hair/beard..for the video at least

Mainly what I was talking about.

Brilliant.

And yeah, I don't like Rody's hair.

Josh D. 01-08-2008 10:20 PM

I would buy the instrumentals if I cared enough, but I like the actual song.

I have a Rody impression now, but since I have no way showing it on here, I will type a transcript of it:

*Camera zoomed in to head shot*

"What's up, this Road the motherf***ing (head shakes quickly) Choad!"

That's it.

26 seconds in. Halahious.

And what the **** does hink mean anyways, some way of expressing humor I assume.

I think the instrumentals would be pretty kickass, especially being able to clearly hear the arpeggios at the end of Bloodmeat.

Tyler 01-08-2008 10:58 PM

Nobody really knows what hink means. Probably Rody included.
I don't like Rodsters' new hair/beard..for the video at least
Oh no call the fashion police!

The hair is shaved and was shaved like instantly after. I don't know why people care so much about his hair, dude has always had the faggiest hairstyles, from his welrd spikes to his streaked long black hair to his weird Danzig meets who knows what swoop thing. Don't get so choked up.

Josh D. 01-09-2008 01:02 AM

Yeah, my impression came from that video.

illpressureurhinges1 01-09-2008 01:07 AM

It's a great video to go with a great song.

Tyler 01-09-2008 01:19 AM

I'm writing my Fortress soundoff tonight to sort of finalize my thoughts. Review will be up by next week.

Josh D. 01-09-2008 01:34 AM

Looking forward to it.

The review better be a beast. I would do one, but I don't feel I could do it justice. I generally go for more average stuff. Plus, I probably won't have advanced listening like I do with new albums I do. (ex: As Daylight Dies)

Tyler 01-09-2008 01:35 AM

I have a lot of extra context too. A lot of preliminary talk about the album is just way off. People are assuming the growls are Arif, and there's just a lot of added context that pushes it up even higher that I'm going to try and bring.

Txus 01-09-2008 01:37 AM

I just want the ****ing album like at this moment!

Josh D. 01-09-2008 01:38 AM

I can tell Arif doesn't sing in "Bloodmeat" after listening carefully. I thought it was Rody at first, but now I'm not so sure.

What is that weird bell sounding noise hit on the drums that is like a click with a slight ring to it? It's during the "Clammoring and horses stammer" part.

Tyler 01-09-2008 01:39 AM

it's whatever kind of cymbal or china moe is using, i dont know hah, im not a drummer.

I think it's Juice singing the part Arif does in the video. He just does it live and in videos.

Josh D. 01-09-2008 01:44 AM

I'm assuming if it has to be down to Juice or Rody, I would go with Juice for that song. After I hear the first two lines, even before "Seek the yougest...", I get doubtful of Rody.

I don't think it could be a china because it doesn't have any decay, it's just a strike and then nothing. The "ring" I mentioned was just the word I used to dscribe it's metallic sound. I don't know if anything is visible in the video, but I will watch it later.

Transient 01-09-2008 04:12 AM

I'm going to kill someone/myself if I don't hear this album soon.

that feels like an eternity!!!!! ahh! but im sure the anticipation is going to be worth it. this doesnt seem like a band that would dissapoint.

They won't. This is going to be one of the best albums of 2008!

Tyler 01-09-2008 01:47 PM

You guys also just need to realize it sounds almost nothing like Kezia. So just sort of ready yourselves.

Static 01-09-2008 02:00 PM

Kezia was okay.

:X

Well from hearing Bloodmeat and Seqione Throne(sp?), the album sounds amazing so I'm not worring about it being different from Kezia.

Tyler 01-09-2008 02:42 PM

Bloodmeat is the safest, and only kezia-like track on the album though. And Sequoia Throne is kind of random and one of the weakest, if not the weakest.

illpressureurhinges1 01-09-2008 02:44 PM

Well either way I still have high hopes, and I'm sure they won't disappoint. Were you disappointed?

Tyler 01-09-2008 02:44 PM

Do you think I was disappointed based on what I've been saying?

illpressureurhinges1 01-09-2008 02:49 PM

Of course not. So I'm pretty sure if you like it, I'll be fine. I don't have any doubt that it'll be a great album.

duckies 01-09-2008 06:16 PM

I'm really intriqued in hearing the album now because I don't know what to expect. I thought it was going to be along the line of Bloodmeat, but I'm obviously wrong. As ill said, I'm sure whatever it is I'll like it. *Fingers crossed*

awia 01-09-2008 07:13 PM

i heard part of palms read..its amazing..

http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=154571&

Tyler 01-09-2008 08:36 PM

That part is really early in the song. Right after the intro if I'm not mistaken.

illpressureurhinges1 01-09-2008 11:11 PM

Is there anywhere you can pre-order it, cause I haven't seen anything?

Tyler 01-09-2008 11:20 PM

How about the ****ing page you were just on?

illpressureurhinges1 01-09-2008 11:25 PM

Well yah... Sorry. I meant something like a special where you can order it with a shirt or something special?

Altmer 01-10-2008 04:57 AM

So, does this album have those awful metalcore-esque screams or does it also have good vocals? Because if it does I will look into this.

Capricious 01-10-2008 10:55 AM

The choppy youtube vid's Goddess Gagged, The Dissentience and Goddess Bound are such a tease lyrically that half of them could be in Japanese.(so to speak..) Although looking back reading this thread watching people decipher Bloodmeat was sort of amusing knowing the lyrics now.
I'm really digging the riffs and structure from Goddess Gagged at the moment, i just wanna be at these shows at the end of the month, get the album and have all the pieces fall together.

UnderASerpentSun 01-10-2008 12:17 PM

I'm too lazy to read this entire thread but if you haven't figured out by now, Cocaine the entire Keizia album is on the U.S. iTunes.
