Flagjacket 03-18-2006 04:25 PM

I've noticed a lot of people come in here with entry point bands and ask for more bands that sound like entry point bands.

Listen to Latterman.

I've seen a lot of that too. And they just want bands handed to them. They don't just lurk the forums like some of us did and just picked up the band recommendations from the rest of the forum.

Flagjacket 03-18-2006 04:51 PM

Poseurs.

DaveToopes 03-18-2006 05:12 PM

I lurked for ages!

Flagjacket 03-18-2006 05:37 PM

I read threads occansionally and then started posting but didn't think I'd get to the point where I knew everyone's name. I think that people should whore our punkl forums so we get mopre people who post in here.

DaveToopes 03-18-2006 05:45 PM

Oh I used to just go through archives, then I started to read new posts, then I posted once, forgot about MX, then started posting in August.

AndreTheHyena 03-18-2006 09:55 PM

Everyone download "I'll Be Yr Bird" (it may be under "I'll Be Your Bird") by M. Ward and tell me it didn't change your life.

I've listened to M. Ward for so long without ever realizing how great he is, until the other day.

If you like Bad Religion and Nofx i'd recomend Propagandhi. Start out with their first album How to Clean Everything

If you like pennywise i'd recomend eating your own shi't, it's much more enjoyable.

Ghostfire3 03-28-2006 12:33 PM

Someone plz recommend me a good Career Suicide album.

DaveToopes 03-28-2006 04:00 PM

I'd just get Anthology of Releases: 2001-2003 for now.

Flagjacket 03-28-2006 09:09 PM

And then Invisible Eyes.

I would like some good Small Arms Dealer type of stuff.

40 oz 2 freedom 03-28-2006 09:39 PM

Sars EP

KingOfSka 03-29-2006 04:14 AM

I've been listening to Melodic Hardcore bands like Strike Anywhere, A Wilhelm Scream, Crime In Stereo, Kid Dynamite, NMDS, Rise Against, stuff like that. I'm craving more. Reccomend me some of the same.

TakeWarning 03-29-2006 05:34 AM

Lifetime, Shelter, Shook Ones.

And maybe Sinking Ships.

I'd say some of Thrice's stuff would fit well. But that might just be me...

Danger Bird 04-02-2006 05:44 PM

Are The Exploited any good?

CIV, H2O, Ignite, In My Eyes, the Movielife, Set Your Goals...the semi-new Paint It Black album is a lot more melodic and KD-like, so check that out too. And the stuff TakeWarning recommended. Check out the album "When 20 Summers Pass" by Shelter.

DaveToopes 04-02-2006 06:04 PM

If you like sh'itty streetpunk, then you'll like the Exploited.

Ghostfire3 04-02-2006 06:31 PM
Are The Exploited any good?
In a word, No.

Danger Bird 04-03-2006 12:00 AM

Oh.

So what Ian MacKaye band should I listen to after Minor Threat, Fugazi, and The Evens?

DaveToopes 04-03-2006 08:02 AM

Embrace.

Special Brew 04-03-2006 08:32 AM

Lifetime
Kid Dynamite
H2O
Daggermouth
Set Your Goals
In My Eyes
Good Clean Fun
CIV
Gorilla Biscuits

Name some more poppy hardcore bands. Or just some posi stuff, like Youth of Today. And don't say Saves the Day, because they blow.

Flagjacket 04-03-2006 10:33 AM

What?

DaveToopes 04-03-2006 11:01 AM

Damien, try Set It Straight if you haven't already.

Biscuit_box 04-03-2006 11:06 AM
Are The Exploited any good?
Yes they are. I think they're very good. Check them out.

He's wrong.

DaveToopes 04-03-2006 11:15 AM

I like them sometimes, only because I used to like them so much. I can only listen to a few songs in a row though.

musicforlife 04-03-2006 11:18 AM

Rise Against is okay.

DaveToopes 04-03-2006 11:26 AM

Um, thanks.

Special Brew 04-03-2006 11:42 AM
Damien, try Set It Straight if you haven't already.
Yup, I already like 'em. Any more suggestions?

I found a great band called last night, called The Steal.

ratsinthecity403 04-03-2006 09:30 PM

Has anyone heard Migra Violenta and are they any good? I heard one song and it sounded pretty good but am looking for second opinons.

clustifux 04-03-2006 10:33 PM

any recomendations for a band that sounds like Grimple, JFA, or L.A.s wasted youth? Ive been diggin these bands a LOT latley.

Flagjacket 04-04-2006 10:42 AM

Try every OC hardcore punk band. Except for TSOL they're weird.

Anyone got any Marathon similar bands?

Liebensaft 04-04-2006 01:36 PM

TSOL are awesome. Even though my only opinion of them is from the album Dance With Me, which I've heard is their best.

You wanna repeat that last part? Cause I thought you said Saves The Day blows, but that can't be right.

Seriously though, Shook Ones.

Liebensaft 04-04-2006 03:27 PM

Saves the Day are very good.

DaveToopes 04-04-2006 04:47 PM

Killing the Dream are pretty posi.

lol?

Danger Bird 04-09-2006 12:53 AM

What's a good Adicts album to start on?

Liebensaft 04-09-2006 09:55 AM

Smart Alex or Sounds of Praise, I'd say.
