|
Not really :-\
10 bucks a show is good. That's about the equvilent of here, maybe more. Depends where it's at. Opera House ftw. |
yeah but look at all the shows....
|
20 shows lined up, that's $200.
opera house is pretty good, but i prefer the elmo, and the funhouse |
the docks \m/
|
No, the docks fail. Small clubs ftw.
|
the docks are terrible. worst set-up in the world
(my bro played at the docks with breaking benjamin) |
/me fails at sarcasm :(

Last night I went to see Reggie And The Full Effect. There were two other "bands" listed on the show, but it turned out that they were both just different acts of Reggie And The Full Effect. I didn't know that was going to be the case, so I was really surprised.
Fluxation This was the first act. It was just two guys but it was quite amusing. They were dressed as mimes, and began by miming the lyrics of an R. Kelly song. They then told a few jokes, played a couple songs and left the stage. Reggie And The Full Effect Awesome. They played a ton of songs, and I had a lot of fun. Common Denominator The third act. Everyone in the band was wearing these bizarre green and red wigs, and their faces were painted. They kept spitting fake blood in the crowd as well. When the lead singer took the stage, he was wearing just a oair of shorts, and the rest of his body was covered in "blood". They only played one or two songs, but it was wild. The lead singer, (still covered in blood), ended up jumping into the crowd and moving around in the pit while he was singing. Overall, awesome show. One of the most entertaining shows I've seen in a while, and well-worth the $8. |
haha, james sings for all those bands.
|
Haha, I realize that now. I didn't know about Common Denominator or Fluxation going into last night though, so I was surprised.
It was definitely cool though. |
$8 u lucky bastard!! sounds entertaining lol
|
Haha, I realize that now. I didn't know about Common Denominator or Fluxation going into last night though, so I was surprised.
It was definitely cool though.
Did they still play Reggie songs when Common Denominator came on? Ive never seen them live so I always wondered. |
Yeah, they played "Deathnotronic", and I think one other.
|
Do you ever get merch brian? I guess I could go to that many shows... but half the bands I would list are midwest/local bands that didn't make it.
|
I buy merch once in a while. Usually CDs, because I'd rather give the $10 to the bands instead of having most of it go to a chain store.
|
I'm going to see The Academy Is... and Panic! this Sunday and I'm pumped. I'm going to see Taking Back Sunday on April 16th too. EASTER haha
|
Less Than Jake, 10 days, Newcastle, UK.
*wootage* |
The Academy Is... and Panic! At The Disco were both awesome when I saw them. Great show.
I'm seeing Taking Back Sunday in May with Story Of The Year and Emanuel. Edit - Less Than Jake ruled when I saw them too. :p |

|
i want to go to this years Vans Warped Tour, my mom probably won't let me though
The thing with my mom is she'll let me go, but once she sees the people there I'll never go again. So I'm just gonna wait until I get my license |
I'm going to see Bouncing Souls that night, otherwise i would go for sure
Shame. I wanted to go to Bouncing Souls too, but my friend said I had to go to Suicide Bid. Which is cool I'll love that too! Loads of my other fave bands are playing as well :thumb: |
are the bouncing souls punk
|
are the bouncing souls punk
They're Pop-Punk. Hence why they're in here. |

Yeah nice one, Suicide Bid's first gig will be an amazing experience. Someone from the band was up on stage at the Filaments last ever gig part II, had very good stage presence. :thumb: |
So, last night I saw 30 Seconds To Mars, Aiden, Emanuel.
Emanuel These guys were awesome. The crowd wasn't really into them, but they still played a great set. I'll be looking forward to seeing them again with Taking Back Sunday Aiden Fun set as usual. Some guy yelled for them to get off the stage. The lead singer called him a pussy, and offered him $100 to get up on stage, say it to his face, and try to do his job. Of course, the guy didn't. 30 Seconds To Mars I really don't know that much if their music, but they were pretty good. The place was completely sold out, and people seemed really into it. They played a couple songs that I really like though ("The Kill" and "Attack", I think), so that was good enough for me. Next Show: 3/29 Motion City Soundtrack |
XBOX 360 Truckstops and Statelines Tour
Hellogoodbye Holy crap I have never had so much fun during a show. They were so crazy. I knew most of the stuff that they played but they played a new song I didn't know. They only played about 5 songs but they have a ton of energy. During their last song they had a bunch of people back stage come on the stage and there was at least 15 people on the stage. They were throwing little plastic eggs and shooting silly string at everyone in the pit. Then they brought out this little plastic raft threw it in the pit and were stage diving on it, it was so tight. Acceptance Well they were good but I thought they were lower then my expectations I think I thought they would be better then they were. They had quite a bit of energy but the crowd wasn't really into them very much. Also, Jason's mic was really low and you couldn't hear him very well. Panic! at the Disco Overall they were dissapointing. Other than Brendon the band had like no energy at all they were just kind of standing around. Brendon had a cold too so his voice sounded pretty dang bad. Spencer almost seemed pissed to be there and he didn't want to be playing. I enjoyed there set still because I love this band but they only played like 5 songs. The coolest part was during their last song Brendon stage dove right on top of me and he almost broke my shoulder cause my arm was in the air but it was still sweet regardless. The Academy Is... INCREDIBLE, they were so amazing it blew me away. They had SOOO much energy and the pit was so intense. They played every song off of Almost Here and they played The Fever and Pour Yourself a Drink. Will played the acoustic guitar on Down and Out and they switched between the slow acoustic version of it to the album version of it in the middle of the song. They played The Fever with the whole band not just the acoustic guitar. It was an amazing set. Overall the night was incredible and I had a great time. It was a lot of fun and I got a really sweet shirt haha. Next show for me is on Easter: I'm seeing Taking Back Sunday!!!! |

Against Me!:
I'll start off by saying the biggest disappointment of the night was the short set these guys were limited to, 40 minutes. But these guys were great still. Just like last time it was very simple on stage, small drum set, simple white lights the whole set, basic through and through. Played a good mix of stuff off all 3 full lengths and some stuff off the EPs too because I didn't recognize a couple of the songs. More skewed towards stuff off Searching for a Former Clarity as it's their latest album, but still a good mix. Well-balanced. Totally fun sing-alongs and good energy and crowd interaction. I'm glad I saw them as headliners last time because they are definitely good enough for it. I'll also mention now instead of later, at the end of the show I was picking up some vinyls from their merch booth, and Andrew (bass player) was chilling and having a beer and meeting fans so I got to meet him, talk to him and get him to sign one of the vinyls I picked up. Totally ****ing sweet. Chill guy too. I'll get a pic of it up soon too. Alkaline Trio: Oh man, so so so much better than last time. I mean a lot of it was that it wasn't at a **** venue this time, but Alkaline Trio also definitely thrives as the headliner, not the opener. They started right off the bat with Goddamnit, and played it in track order start to finish, as expected. Somewhere in there Dan played a few songs on guitar and Matt on Bass, but I forget which. Then Matt played 2 acoustic songs by himself, then Dan did 2, then Dan and Derek did another couple songs. Then Matt came back out with his acoustic and Dan got an electric Bass and Derek went back to drums and they played a song like that. Then they got the regular instruments all out and played another full set, basically. Lots of Crimson but lots of older stuff as well. Tons of great tracks and some highlights included their Queen of Pain cover, Private Eye and Hell Yes. They closed with This Could Be Love, and then started a cover of some song no one there knew before going into Radio and closing with that. All in all it was just under 2 hours. No real breaks either, but the acoustic set in the middle was a nice rest for the crowd. Lots of stamina with all the guys though, and despite the fact that the crowd were being douches at points they put on a terrific show. Basically it kicked *** and I don't know if I'll see a better show by them. But I can always hope. Oh yeah, pics (new feature!): http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/zeppelinfan2k3/Alk3%20and%20Against%20Me%204-2-06/ /taken from my weblog |
