Bass_ment 01-31-2005 11:16 AM

if you put a gun to my head and made me choose ONLY 5 songs:

Freedom
Bullet in the Head
No Shelter
Without a Face
Wake Up

btw I finally found the Live and Rare cd. It was hella expensive but its really a true gem for the Rage fanatic.
Great b-sides, amazing live tracks with Morello imrov solos, an appearance by Chuck D. Its just fantastic.

DuncMaster 01-31-2005 11:22 AM

Where the hell did you get that?
Where the hell did you get that?
A small independant music store in The Haugue, Netherlands called Rocky Road. It was a tiny place with some grey-haired dude listening to Dream Theater on a huge system.
I was so surprised when I found it as I glanced throught the section marked RATM.
and now I am incredibly happy.

zeppelin1432 02-01-2005 12:56 PM

RATM's live performances dont sound that good. But i would still def. go and see them. I think the reason why they dont have good performances on stage is becuase of the the way it was caputered or soemthing...the audio just sounds blah...

DuncMaster 02-01-2005 12:59 PM

they're F*ckin mazin live man

munky_magik 02-01-2005 01:09 PM

The sound isn't why they were great live. Try atmosphere and things along those lines. You can't capture it on a live recording which is why they don't apear to be very good.

Danny Carey is GOD 02-01-2005 02:23 PM

Evil Empire is a great album. However, i have found with RATM, i get a bit sick of them, alot faster than most of the music i listen to, so i don't listen to them much. However, there is always a time for Killing in the name :)

DuncMaster 02-01-2005 02:37 PM

Killing In The Name **

Darkness 02-01-2005 05:00 PM

During live performances in RATM I think timmy coulda turned the bass down a little...it almost drowns out everything else.

I have no time for Killing in the Name anymore, my band me cover it so many times in so many different places, and my guitarist couldn't even play the solo!

Not the right effect, man I hate that song.

I do love RATM though.

Darkness 02-01-2005 07:57 PM

What...that post didn't make sense...

Bartender 02-01-2005 08:39 PM
During live performances in RATM I think timmy coulda turned the bass down a little...it almost drowns out everything else.
Any live performances I've seen, I really liked his bass.

Arm_theHomeless 02-01-2005 08:43 PM

i personally think everything they did was pure genius... RATM is and always will be my favorite band... they are the one band that if i get sick of my other 124 cds i can just pop in some RATM and be perfectly satisfied with what i hear... favorite album prolly Battle of L.A. for me... however favorite song is prolly No Shelter... or the Minor Threat cover they did on Renegades... the title is slipping my mind at the moment... but i liked it either way... by the way... my name Arm_theHomeless... Arm The Homeless is what is written on one of Tom Morello's guitars...

Darkness 02-02-2005 04:01 PM

I think everybody here is aware about that last statement but ok...

Anyways I love Timmy C. He's like my fav bass player, but he shoulda turned it down just a little...

Dried Muffin Remnants 02-02-2005 06:49 PM

I, admittedly, do not know a lot about Rage, and have heard most of their stuff on the radio...

Anyways.. What is the RATM song when Zach keeps mentioning "shotgun"?

Thanks. And don't fvckin' rip me!

Darkness 02-02-2005 08:19 PM

Down Rodeo

"I'm rollin down rodeo wit a shotgun, these people ain't seen a brown skin man since their grand parents bought one"

DuncMaster 02-03-2005 11:46 AM

I thought Killing in the Name of was a kickass song, and I was very happy when I heard it on GTA: San Andreas

Thor 02-21-2005 06:41 PM
I thought Killing in the Name of was a kickass song, and I was very happy when I heard it on GTA: San Andreas
They had How I Could Just Kill A Man as well, but it was the original version and not the RATM cover.

BradyEB 02-22-2005 12:30 AM

Best version of How I could Just Kill a Man IMO is live with cypress hill and RATM.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-22-2005 04:54 AM
During live performances in RATM I think timmy coulda turned the bass down a little...it almost drowns out everything else.
That seemed to be on the Grand Olympic Auditorium show, the other dvds i thought it was fine.
