Wait, Chris is still playing guitar on the tour.

well I don't know I just heard he tried to make Megadeth alternative or something like that.
Ahh...I doubt that, Dave was always running that show. Although Marty's solo stuff has diverisfied quite a bit so ya never know. |

Wow i realized that i have been missing out on some great Sh*t when the other day I bought Countdown to extinction the other day, what are other good cds?
|
Wow i realized that i have been missing out on some great Sh*t when the other day I bought Countdown to extinction the other day, what are other good cds?
Rust in Peace is IMO, their best. Peace Sells is also great, as are Killing is My Business and So Far So Good So What. However, those are their thrash albums, so if you don't like thrash that much, I'd go for Youthanasia, and The System Has Failed is a lot like CTE :thumb: |

I personally like Countdown to Extinction the most, then comes (yes, i know this isn't an actual cd from the 'Deth lineup, but I like it a lot) Hidden Treasures. Next comes Cryptic Writings. Yes, I know they're not Megadeth's thrash albums, but I just started into MD about a month ago, or so, and now I own 11 of their albums, 9 of them being original albums from the line. The thrash albums are yet to grow on me completely :-X As of now, though, the best thrash CD from them would have to be either KIMB or RIP. ...at least I consider KIMB to be thrash... lol |
well I don't know I just heard he tried to make Megadeth alternative or something like that.
Yeah, according to Mustaine |
...at least I consider KIMB to be thrash... lol
huh? there's a question? its definitely thrash |
..at least I consider KIMB to be thrash... lol
Who wouldn't consider that CD to be thrash? |
:( im still ****ing waiting for my TSHF cd... australia sucks, i should have gotten it yesterday but the music store never called to tell me they had it.
|
i saw like 10 of The System Has Failed album when i was browsing the Megadeth section. pretty wicked album though, didn't buy it. bah!
|
:( im still ****ing waiting for my TSHF cd... australia sucks, i should have gotten it yesterday but the music store never called to tell me they had it.
Tell me about it! doesn't come out till the ****ing 2nd of october. It's a joke if you ask me. |
Does Dave's voice sound any better in the remastered version. Like clearer and i guess a bit lower.
|
Tell me about it! doesn't come out till the ****ing 2nd of october. It's a joke if you ask me.
It comes out on the 4th of october for me :upset:... Metal Mayhem in melbourne had it on the 14th and sold out all the copies they bought. |
^^^holy **** i cant believe that, but dont worry it will be worth the wait! TSHF is a solid solid album.
|
^^^
very much, comming from two diehard Megadeth fanatics we can assure you that its worth the wait :) |
BLAH!!!!!! JB just claled me and they got my copie in they rang me at 5:53, i was on the bus at 6:00, got the cd at 6:20 came back and here i am listening to the first track and i am amazed. Blackmail The Universe is pure awesomness!
|
The wierd thing is, the disc grows on you more and more....when I first listened to it I preffered CTE a lot more, but now that I've listened to it exclusively for a few days I think it's even better than CTE..... O_o
|
Who wouldn't consider that CD to be thrash?
Well, people keep talking about "oh the only good Megadeth is back when they played thrash", and since KIMB was released in 2002, I thought some people wouldn't like it because it's not "way back when". IDK, people can be retarded at times and are biased against anything new when old is all they know. |

Uhh... KIMB was Megadeth's first album, released in '83 I think... It was rereleased in 2002. |
released in '85 originally

ah, thank you. So, it seems that the venues have been announced for the October shows... NY still TBA... can't wait!! so, that being said, I just thought of another one I'd love for Deth to play... Take No Prisoners. That was the song that just got me totally hooked on them. |
Check this:
chartattack.com, the Canadian music source reports that Megadeth founder/singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine has every right to be pissed. The original lead guitarist for Metallica 20 years ago, he’s been getting screwed over by them via taunting and/or being outright ignored for years. And now they’re screwing with him again. This time around, the kick in the *** comes prior to the release of Megadeth’s 10th official studio effort This System Has Failed (Sanctuary/EMI). While Mustaine has a number of lucid comments on This System Has Failed [the album speaks for itself frankly], the sordid Megadeth history and his own career, it’s when he’s able to vent about the Metallica movie Some Kind Of Monster that his wit and frustration truly come out. "Everyone says how the part with me [in the movie] is the most intense. Yeah, because I’m the only one who thinks Lars is a punk," he continues. "Everyone else is afraid of him. He looks like a ****in’ Eminem wannabe right now. Anyone who watches that movie and doesn’t realize that whoever comes into contact with Lars hates him… If you watch the movie closely, you see that Lars treats everyone so badly. They all end up in therapy! Even the counselor ended up in therapy!" Mustaine has always been vocal about his issues with Metallica. But he feels most scorned that they couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge him at all until it served their purposes. "For years [Metallica] said I wasn’t important to them; that I was a temporary guitar player or they never said anything about me," he says. "But now all of a sudden I’m so important that they need me in their movie. Were you lying then or are you lying now? Why am I so important that I need to be in your stupid movie? And when I told them I didn’t want it used — I told the director I didn’t approve of it — and they went ahead and used it. Then Lars goes online and says he doesn’t understand why I’m so pissed off. You didn’t listen to me! Then when he catches wind that I’m getting sick of his crap he says, ‘Aww, I just want to hug Dave. I’m sexually attracted to him.’ What the hell happened to you?" Mustaine also says that classic Metallica songs such as "Jump In The Fire" and "The Four Horsemen" are his. Along with a number of others. "Not only [the songs on] Kill ‘Em All, but 'Ride The Lightning' title track, 'Call Of Kthulu,' parts of 'Leper Messiah…' listen to parts of 'Leper Messiah' and then 'Ride The Lighting.' It’s that same spider chord. I invented that! How the hell can you not credit me for writing that?" Mustaine has his own answer. "James [Hetfield] didn’t want to give me credit because he’s jealous of me. His whole frontman persona he copped from me. In the beginning of the band, he just sang and I did all the guitar work. When he was done singing, he’d walk away from the microphone and I had to walk up to the mic and talk. I’m like, ‘What’s wrong with this picture? I’m getting your beer tonight!’ I think the most disappointing thing out of all of it is that when you look at all of the accomplishments they’ve made over the years, people are trying to make me invisible. My career’s been successful; I’ve had a blast while I’m here but it would have been nice if Metallica fans really knew what my contribution was instead of them saying there wasn’t any." Not that it will matter much longer as the Metallikats seem to be desperately bailing that sinking ship. Regardless, Mustaine is blunt. It still hurts. "I don’t want to look bad on anybody, but it’s like the Flight Of Icarus: if you fly too high, you’ll melt your wings," Mustaine says. "I think there are so many people that are happy it’s over; that they’re failing. I don’t wish that on James at all. I really don’t care about Kirk — he stole my job, but at least I got to bang his girlfriend before he took my job — how do I taste, Kirk? I do miss James though, even though we’ll never work together again. With the silence, it’s like, what are you afraid of? If I have to be in the movie, then obviously I mattered. Why didn’t you say in the movie, ‘Hey listen, I’ve been a twat because for 20 years. I pretended you were invisible.’ Then I would have been like, ‘OK! You can put my part in!’"
"I really don’t care about Kirk — he stole my job, but at least I got to bang his girlfriend before he took my job — how do I taste, Kirk?"   |
I just got Rude Awakening. I havent watched it because my fat dad is watching T.V and won't hand it over. But I'm so excited.

   Mustaine >>> Metallica
But I'm so excited.
You should be. Enjoy! |
yeah this album is good. Some good songs, some that started out sounded somewhat crap then blew me away - example, truth be told. good solos too.

Rust In Peace is a great album...I can't stop hearing those songs in my head...hell I even hear them in my sleep!
It's that great! |

Seriously, Mustaine needs to grow the **** up! I've been ****ed over by people I thought were my closest buddys too, and it husrt as ****, but I GOT ****ING OVER IT! He needs to stop the **** whining about how bad Metallica treated him.
The worst part is that the people really getting slapped in the face is not Metallica, but all the guys who were in Megadeth. Cuz after all the work they've put down, Mustaine still isn't satisfied about it. After millions of records sold, he's still pissed that he's not in Metallica. WTF?! You we're in a band at least as big as them, and you wrote some seriously ***-kicking tunes along the way, be happy about it and stop being so pissed about some **** that went down between you 17-year olds 20 god**** years ago! My 2 cents |

Aaah, but that's were you're wrong, ****face. I DO care about Mustaine. If I didn't, I wouldn't have a problem with him making an *** of himself by constantly clinging on to and bringing up a conflict that should be dead and buried ages ago. I love Mustaine and Megadeth, they're one of the most influential bands in my life (thus the "he wrote some seriously ***-kicking tunes along the way"-comment) |
Woops someone didn't get passed the swear filter. Now if you care about someone you don't insult what they choose to do. You would be very annoyed if you were kicked out of one of the biggest selling bands of all time. He brings it up and blames it because that is what made him be depressed and stay on drugs for many years of his life. Give him a break, jeese.

He's had 20 years to get a break, its time to get over it! Esp when your own band is among the same top-sellers. Like I said, its a slap in the face of all the guys whos played in Deth |
I just heard Peace Sells on VROCK. Good song :thumb:.
