best Beatles album
But Br3ad, I didn't think you were above the wonderful age of 18?
I dont get it :upset: Im slow today, I got up at 4 30 |
... You said that you were going to The Minties gig, and it's at Ric's, which is a pub.
|
Currently going for Masterpiece by a band called Bayside. I live in the UK and no one I know seems to have heard of them. They're a bit emo-hardcore with some fairly unmistakeable vocals. Surely they sould be a bit more well known than they are.
|
I just got Entertainment! (Gang of Four) on vinyl, it's such a good album. Quite diffrerent to Solid Gold, much more progressive and varied. I love it!

Oh. Barred from yet another good gig. :upset: |
Bum out! If you go early they hardly check ID, as it's not too strict. IT'S FREE!!!
I'm gunna try and get my friend to get her band to support. Man that would be cool. |
does any1 knwo wat guiatars the mars volta use
|
Answer'd!!!

Lately a lot of female singer-songwriters. Aimee Mann, Sarah Harmer, Julie Miller, Patty Griffin. Then I just bought a bass so I'm listening to stuff with easy bass lines: Wallflowers, Social Distortion; and I'm listening to my old Grateful Dead tapes to see if I can figure out what Phil Lesh is doing.
|
i just picked up this 4disc hendrix box set with some unreleased tracks on it. pink floyd is usually on at my house 'dark side' 'animals' 'saucerful'. Beastie boys: their new cd is pretty good. blackalicious and J5 (mostly j5) have some really good tracks for those of you that enjoy real hip hop. Bob marley, eek-a-mouse and sublime go hand in hand with smoking bowls. i used to listen to the blood brothers a lot, les savy fav, the international noise conspiracy, the refused, sometimes le tigre, but lately ive been sticking to classic rock and stoner music.
|
My Friends Band! The Shine sooooo goood! www.geocities.com/the_shine_is_good/open_page.html
and also Ben kweller and the Velvet underground o yeah the strokes |
ive really been diggin taking back sunday, the older cd: tell all your friends. they are bad *** man! ive kinda been listening to the killers, but all their songs are great, so im not really into them as much as TBS.
|
Taking Back Sunday's new cd, [U]Where You Want To Be. That cd kicks *** and also Sohheed and Cambria's album [U]In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth : 3
|
That cd kicks ***
Omar uses a custom Ibanez. It seems like a junky piece of crap to me, but he gets amazing sounds. |

Nah man, I've played on the un-customized model of his Ibanez, they are an incredible guitar to play. |
Pedro The Lion - It's Hard To Find a Friend.
|
- Bits of the Janes Addiction- Strays album put out early 2004 (i tink).
The Shins- Oh, Inverted World Tom Waits Dredg - El Cielo (strangely) Boris the Sprinkler - End of the Century LP (check them out if you've never heard/heard of them. Very funny, fast, good punk rock...from my hometown, surprisingly) Mix a good bit of Led Zeppelin in there too, and that's my list right now. |
while we're questioning the instrument-use of Mars Volta, i gottsta add- whatever they're using at the moment (perhaps some custom, hybrid-model or sumthing), it sounds very insindiary (ok, my spelling is off, and im not Rogert Ebert- so that just bumped me 2 stories under the ground)....
but it's very excellent, and want to have that guitar sound. Mars Volt! Be De-loused....or lose. ...ok. |
At the moment I really can't get enough of The Icarus Line. They are really what I needed. A very raunchy, dark and raw rock band.
Van Morrison's early material is getting a thrashing here aswell. Hard Nose The Highway and Astral Weeks have become staples in my house over the last couple months. Those two albums are so good, and do not get enough credit these days. Korekyojin are a very interesting Japanese band that I've been diggin' recently. Strange psychotic/psychadelic prog-punk music. Very good stuff. |
I just got Missy Higgins' Scar EP and it is brilliant, a lot more upbeat (well the tracks that will appear on the album), and just plain blow-awayful.
I also picked up Dylan's Blood on the Tracks for $10. My favourite Dylan album, and I'm heavily into him at the moment. I also listened to the Mike Skinner interview on JJJ this morning and watched The Streets play on Channel V, and Mike Skinner is definately the man. Also happened to see an hour long Beastie Boys special and a live performance on [V] today, and that was awesome. And I was just about to dismiss it as the worst music channel ever. |
Captain Beefheart,
The Hives, Black Rebel Motorcycle club, Joy division, all good! |

Fair enough. I don't like only having one pickup and it's not all that nice looking so it put me off. |
Recently I've been getting into Skeleton Key and Bob Log III (whose music is just goofy, but his act has still impressed me since I saw him live about 4 months ago).
I'm liking Tom McRea alot...I've checked out Thursday too, but I really disliked the stuff I've heard so far. I've been listening to some old favorites these days...I realized again how good OK Computer is...it's great to rediscover an album like that. I'm also digging dEUS again...I can't emphasize enough how good that band is...want proof? Download "Instant Street". |
