sacrifice93.2 02-12-2004 02:11 PM

Who the hell would be dumb enough to take me on in a fight? I'm 6 foot 2 and weigh 275 pounds, and can bench 75 pounds more than my own weight. Also, who the hell said I didn't like thrash anymore? Just because my band changed its sound doesn't mean I threw my Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer CD's out the ****ing window. I was listening to Among the Living, Show no Mercy, and Kill Em All last night. If it's not the music I play, that doesn't mean I don't like it. Sum 41 listens to Maiden, Priest, Metallica, and Megadeth, and they don't play metal! That's it, I don't care what some of you say. I'm switching my status back to what it was, and no one can do a **** thing about it!
Individualism is a part of the Thrash titans.
I think that makes my point. So what if I don't play thrash. I still love it, and will love it until the day I die. I'll have to pick up that Sacrifice album. I have to re-buy Bonded by Blood sometime soon, because I lent it to a friend and he scratched it to hell.

Ve Das 02-12-2004 03:06 PM

@Sacrifice: I´d take you on.I´ve hospitalized enough dudes your size to make it a fair enough fight. "Cop Killer" ;)

Corporal Compendia 02-12-2004 05:52 PM
I'll have to pick up that Sacrifice album.
See the thing is this... you won't find it to buy...not for cheap anyways. It's very rare...though you should have no trouble downloading it if you so wish. Highly recommended to anyone that claims they like thrash metal.

Bragging now, are we? I know you couldn't take us in a guitar competition, seeing as you play nu-metal.

Also, we welcomed you because we want people to join and hang out. However, nu-pussies aren't.

JMetallica 02-12-2004 06:28 PM

Haha, I can always drop all my friends, and I'm not even half your weight sacrifice! :p Weight is seriously over rated, as most heavy people are just slow and fat. :p
Who the hell would be dumb enough to take me on in a fight? I'm 6 foot 2 and weigh 275 pounds, and can bench 75 pounds more than my own weight.
And? what is your point? did anyone say that they wanted to fight you? im actually 6'6 and 110 kg (242 lbs) but i dont go bragging about it now do i? You must be a big man, threatening people over the internet?
That's it, I don't care what some of you say. I'm switching my status back to what it was, and no one can do a **** thing about it!
Actually, someone can. there are these actual things called moderators that can actually ban you.

p.s. 6'2 and 275 lbs (125 kg)? Either you are extremely buff - or extremely obese.

JMetallica 02-12-2004 08:51 PM

heh...

ahh, lets stop picking on the poor bloke and let him do what ever he likes, without ending up in hospital or anything. :p

EvilMunkey 02-12-2004 10:57 PM

You guys took this thing way to far, most of you are retards for attacking him because his band plays nu metal, its none of your ****ing buisness what his band plays. And playing music and listening to music are two totally different things.

On another note, I think it was ridiculous that he even mentioned his band played nu metal.

Anyhow, If this is the kind of **** you guys do, you can count me out of the clan.

deftoned 02-13-2004 12:20 AM

manuscriptreplica - how old are you man? I know you're from Sydney hehe

deftoned 02-13-2004 12:22 AM
Anyhow, If this is the kind of **** you guys do, you can count me out of the clan.
If anyone in the Baphomet said they liked nu-metal, I assure you they would be kicked out, same if he was in the Wives of Henry VIII.

Girl-Playing-Bass 02-13-2004 12:30 AM

Hey come on guys. Sacrifice still likes his Thrash metal. Isnt that enough?
I have a band who plays some ska-like music, that doesnt mean that i stop liking thrash!
Even though Thrash is still number one, but it's not the only thing I enjoy. Should it be?
If you want me to leave, ask me. And i will.
I'll still love ya :-*

EDIT: did sacrifice ever said he liked nu metal? :o

ThrashMaster27 02-13-2004 12:51 AM

WOW! this crappy argument has spanned a whole 2 pages.....I'm amazed.

We gonna give it a rest now or what?

ATC 02-13-2004 02:40 AM

gawd,i thought this was a thrash clan, not a petty fight clan
enough already, do u think anyone cares how tall you are online??

JMetallica 02-13-2004 05:06 AM
WOW! this crappy argument has spanned a whole 2 pages.....I'm amazed.

...and it will span another two with posts such as 'why are you fighting?' 'and why do you care anyway?'

I can assure you! :p
manuscriptreplica - how old are you man? I know you're from Sydney hehe
im 18 - turned it yesterday! (12th) and im from adelaide actually  dunno who you're thinking of.

which raises the question: how old are we all?

I´ve repetedly said I like (SOME) Crossover.Nu-metal doesn´t exist as a terminology. You´ll find that we in Baphomet don´t take things that seriously, but we do want our terminology correct... :thumb:

LordDargon 02-13-2004 07:54 AM

So how did all my fellow clansmen (and my clanswoman) get into metal?

For me, I saw a sum 41 video and the guitarist was wearing an Iron Maiden shirt. (I like sum41 and linkin park back then :upset: ) Anyways I thought the shirt looked cool so I decided I would check Iron Maiden out... After 5 seconds of the graveyard opening to Hallowed Be Thy Name, I forgot all about sum. I was about 13.

k'! 02-13-2004 08:19 AM

I got into Metal by playing guitar. I was geting tired of being thought of as nothing while I was playing Offspring and Blink 182, and besides, my ace friend who was kicking *** (to me at the time) playing such 'technical' **** such as Stairway to Heaven and Nothing Else MAtters kicked ***. I was also getting pissed off at what I called the 'chordmasters' impressing the chicks with INcubus and Oasis. SO you can say Guitar introduced me to metal (since to get better at Metallica, I bought S&M, which led to getting Live ****), and ****ty guitarists had me focused on better quality music. Metallica led me to Ozzy, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden and to a lesser extent, Megadeth and Testament. INtersestingly enough, I hear what people said about **** like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park introducing you to the real **** and is like a gateway to real metal, but that never happened for me. I liked them a one point (and still like KoRN), but it never pushed me to getting into Metal like GUitar does. (On another side note, I thought Metallica kicked *** in 1997 when I saw the Memory Remains clip, but I just wasn't into music at age 10)

Jondur 02-13-2004 08:31 AM

I saw the cover for Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and I thought it looked amazing. So I bought it with hard saved poscket money and much pestering of parents (I was 10). My borther also liked it so he bought Metallica "And Justice for All". Later that year we saw Metallica but unfortunately missed Maiden.

ThrashMaster27 02-13-2004 08:43 AM

Ahhhhhhhh the process of getting into Metal.....It was all my Stepdads influence really. When I was 9 he used to take me down to a second hand CD store with all the mad Metal there....I remember buying a few Megadeth, Guns N' Roses and AC/DC albums.....plus an Anthrax CD with a guy on the front with a big foot! Don't remember what single it was though.

Furthermore I remember in Year 7 of school we were allowed to cover our maths books with whatever cover we liked.......so I ripped my ...And Justice For All poster off the wall and covered my maths book with it. Great days!

TheUnforgiven 02-13-2004 09:26 AM

My dad's CD collection. I listened to Master Of Puppets and Powerslave, and I just loved those CD's a bunch. Those Cd's got me away from Limp Bizkit and led me to Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, Overkill, Dimmu Borgir, Meshuggah, and countless other real metal bands.

LordDargon 02-13-2004 09:53 AM

Well it seems quite a few of you were introduced to metal by an older family member. I never knew anyone that liked metal, and I still don't :( No sirree, I was all on my own.

sacrifice93.2 02-13-2004 10:57 AM

Lets get back to the thrash discussion. Does anyone but me hope that Anthrax will tour in the states this summer? I hope they come to Chicago, or St. Louis, or both. I'd catch both just because I'm that big of a fan.

(as another note, I actually took the time to switch to a custom avatar. Scott Ian is the man.)

I love Scott Ian.........one of the Rhythm Masters. I caught 'Thrax in Manchester back in March....the majorly ripped the stage up. All the classics were played and I held John Bush for Anti-Social.....it was class indeed!
So how did all my fellow clansmen (and my clanswoman) get into metal?
Well i think most of you know I got into metal because of my uber-cool daddah! the only music i heard at home, was metal and rock. When i was like 8 I really started getting in to it, Slayer was my fav band at that time, and from there on, I've totally loved muh metal!

Scott is the man indeed. I really hope i'll be able to see Anthrax some day. That would be ace.

Some dude told me Demons&Wizards was killer sh1t and that I should check it out if I liked Motörhead(which I did and still do).Anyways, nothing like Motörhead but it kicked me äss from the first listen onwards. :)

FrailandBedazzled1979 02-13-2004 12:46 PM

^^^^^

Jon Schafer (iced earth) sent the new material to Hansi Kursch (blind guardian) recnently for a new album :thumb:, i LOVE Demons and Wizards.

Girl-Playing-Bass 02-13-2004 12:53 PM

Demons & Wizards are ****ing awesome.
wooh. But motörhead is still better (imo).
Not only because the just rule that hard, but c'mon.. how can you not like a band with Lemmy in it? :o

ATC 02-13-2004 01:23 PM

yay..i'm in..hang on while i change my little line below my avatar
jumps around with shirt off like a mad hippy
anyways, i got into metal through hard rock (creed etc) and by buying a guitar for my birthday..demons and wizards kick a**. i'm still struggling with the bards song(in the forest)..anyone know any easy way to get that right,i keep getting the bass notes wrong. its probably lack of practice and yes,it was stupid saying that on here.

sacrifice93.2 02-13-2004 01:26 PM

I got into metal by meing an insomniac my seventh grade year. I stayed up and watched the Rock Show hosted by Scott Ian from Anthrax (The Man Himself). I saw some nu-metal bands that I liked, such as Godsmack and Slipknot, but the kicker was at the end of the show. VH1 played Megadeth's Wake Up Dead, Metallica's One, Anthrax's I'm The Man and Only, Exodus' Toxic Waltz, Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast, and Judas Priest's You've Got Another Thing Comin'. I was mesmerized. I wanted to hear more, I wanted to play it. I loved it.
Recently, it took me listening to Anthrax's Among the Living, Sound of White Noise, and We've Come for you All to make me realize how much I love thrash. I also noticed that John Bush has a deeper voice than I do, and he sings thrash. Just because the slower stuff I write sounds a little different doesn't mean I should comprimise my sound for my passion. You guys helped me realize that, and I thank you.
:chug: Cheers to the Titans of Thrash

Griffin_Page 02-13-2004 04:16 PM

I got into metal because I've got the coolest mom in the whole **** world. From an early age I was exposed to Zeppelin and Metallica. My Mom has every Zeppelin album ever on vinyl, tape and cd. She has basically everything they ever released. She is also a huge classic rock fan, so that built my foundation up pretty well. Soon I started going off by myself and getting into heavier stuff (I didn't really start getting into looking for music til middle school). A few years ago I really started listening to the old Metallica a lot, and found Slayer. Since then, life has never been the same.

For the record I am just an almost-16 year old sophomore kid, the most advanced metalhead in my town.

\m/ Thrash Forever Minions of Pain \m/

Griffin_Page 02-13-2004 04:18 PM

Oh yeah.. Sacrifice man

If you really love thrash, stick around. Being in a nu-metal band is a little weird, but then you aren't talking about it here. Just don't ever forget good metal.

*Stabs and makes up*

OpiateTheMasses! 02-13-2004 04:23 PM

Got into metal at Grade 4, all thanks to Twisted Metal 3. It played like some Rob Zombie and stuff like that, and soon I checked out some other stuff, like Fear Factory, Pitchshifter, Godflesh and In Flames, and started listening to them. I also got into some numetal like AHC and Soulfly, but not a lot really.
Then I started getting into Black and Death metal (age 12), with my first bands being Tiamat, In Flames, Sepultura and Nile. Now I enjoy a lot of metal (except power) and, I am ever thankful to TM3.

manuscriptreplica 02-13-2004 09:37 PM

i cant remember how i got into metal music. probably from my indie volume 8 CD  and it had mudvayne - dig. i remember though, i used to think i was so hard core because i listened to that song, quite sad really. natural progression took place (i.e. me growing up past the age of which you like mudvayne: about 13) and yeah. my dad has the strictest taste in music, so he only has a few records, and my mum, well, her favourite bands are INXS and don mclean. says a lot doesnt it? so im pleased to say that my parents did NOT influence my music taste :p

hafez 02-13-2004 09:50 PM

thrash metal is superb. most of the people around here listen to stereotypical, ****ty music(weezer, green day,the white stripes, etc.)one of these dumbasses had the nerve to insult megadeth and acid bath without ever hearing them. what a cock. i'd join the clan, but i don't know what the deal is with this three letter code word at the end of your title. if someone could explain, i'm in.

TheUnforgiven 02-13-2004 10:07 PM

Three letter code = Favorite thrash metal album (in abbreviations)
