it's futurepop though

does anyone like Mz. 412?

Meatplow 08-10-2009 02:11 PM

digimortal is probably the concept album for you chris ;]

futurepop is cool

1338 h4x0r 08-10-2009 02:18 PM

Fear Factory sounds way too much like radio rock

That's why I don't like a lot of FLA material

They're elite until they start doing this shitty industrial rock

Meatplow 08-10-2009 02:20 PM

that was more of a joke

I haven't heard any FLA past Tactical Neural Implant which I dig quite a bit

1338 h4x0r 08-10-2009 02:33 PM

they cut good material even now but they started fagging up with industrial rock type crap

it's like a switch, as long as they don't use that sound their work is brilliant

now would be a good time to discuss FLA's related projects tbh

I knew about Synęsthesia but damn FLA pumped out side projects like a welfare queen pumps out nigglets

AA-12 08-10-2009 02:57 PM

i really dont know how to request this, but is there any good steampunk sounding industrial/ambient? i don't know how to explain what i want.

Niflheim II 08-10-2009 02:57 PM

wtf is steampunk?

AA-12 08-10-2009 02:59 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk

i just want music that reminds me of it, or at least the era steampunk is based around.

1338 h4x0r 08-10-2009 03:02 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk#Subculture

"Steampunk music" is even less defined, as Caroline Sullivan says in The Guardian, "internet debates rage about exactly what constitutes the SP sound."[30] This can be heard in the work of artists such as Abney Park,[36] Unextraordinary Gentlemen,[37] and Vernian Process.[38][39]

Meatplow 08-10-2009 03:03 PM

i've heard of steampunk metal groups before, not sure of any industrial acts as those sort of nerd niche subcategories go under my radar a lot

Niflheim II 08-10-2009 03:05 PM

easylee 08-10-2009 03:06 PM

1338 h4x0r 08-10-2009 03:06 PM

Niflheim II 08-10-2009 03:08 PM

1338 h4x0r 08-10-2009 03:21 PM

Meatplow 08-10-2009 03:29 PM
The term was coined in Europe in the 1980s to describe a dark and melancholy variant of New Wave and post-punk music, such as Gothic rock and dark Synthpop, and was first applied to musicians such as Bauhaus, Joy Division, The Cure, and Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Chameleons, New Order, Cocteau Twins, Anne Clark, Chris and Cosey, Fad Gadget, Soft Cell, Gary Numan and Depeche Mode.
hmm, I like almost all these groups I never thought of them as darkwave though. I really don't understand the term

none of the 90's bands are ringing a bell, apart from that i've heard Project Pitchfork was good

easylee 08-10-2009 03:31 PM

its another genre invented by retards with too much free time

hows autism workin for you

TricksterGRex 08-10-2009 03:33 PM

i've always thought of it as another term for electronic music with dark atmospheres

Meatplow 08-10-2009 05:03 PM

it would seem to be new wave but "dark", which is what I would usually call post-punk but the terms are often interchangeable and it seems to include synthpop in the equation as well so maybe "dark synthpop" with a bit of new wave/post-punk/industrial influence thrown in there or "dark new wave/post-punk" with a bit of synthpop and industrial influence thrown over there

i'll just say I think elim is right

Jaundice 08-11-2009 03:05 PM

hosting a goth/industrial show on the radio later tonight

should be awkward

Meatplow 08-11-2009 06:17 PM

Smell The Cheese 08-12-2009 08:26 AM

"darkwave" and "coldwave" sound like necromancer type things

"Blah! blah! I'll zap you with my darkwave!"

Meatplow 08-12-2009 09:13 AM
