Yeah I'm really enjoying them. I've been reading them over the past year and a half, I normally read one book then take time off to read other things then continue on with the next one. I'm about three quarters the way through the fifth book, when Rand is coming out the Waste with the Aiel, and they're closing in on Couladin at Cairhien (sp). Such a good series.

My only gripe with the series is that it seems like Rand has to battle shai'tan like every single book and somehow never kills him

yeah it's got that 'kill one of the bad guys and get out safely' climax for every book, but it's more than tolerable i think.

speaking of pth i saw them live last night and it was one of the most epic things ive ever seen

mychildren mybride kinda sucked
the human abstract was actually clean and really good they only played a violent strike off of the new album, which is the best song off of it.
pth was mindblowing
darkest hour was actually really really good
and aild was great but their clean singing was off key for a couple songs to the point where it was annoying.

i wanted to go to that tour i think Jan 29 they were in Illinois but i couldn't get the time off work, and AILD is my fav band and yeah my only gripe is live the singing isn't great

Then clearly you must read: The First King Of Shannara (the second best, imo), The Sword Of Shannara, The Elfstones Of Shannara, and The Wishsong Of Shannara (the best! the best!)

They're all stand alones but interweave and ****... and are badass!

They were good.

That must've been a badass show, both of those bands are incredible live.
