It was Trivium that really got me into metal. From that i've branched out to all kinds of stuff so naturaly I like Trivium a lot although personaly i think i have found better bands that is my opinion and i'm not about to start saying "Trivium sucks" because they don't. Even if you dont like them it is merely your opinion and you can't have a go at us for liking them.

Accept our opinions and move on, if you don't like the band don't post here or post here once making your view known in a polite and constructive manner like ICB said. Does our liking this music affect you in the slightest? So why do you feel the need to have a go at us for it? If you don't like the way we feel... deal with it and go elsewhere where it can't bother you.

Also what has this got to do with people saying stuff about black metal? If you don't like people doing it to your music then dont do it to theirs. (I happen to like black metal myself, actually i prefer it to trivium, so you can't tell me I'm biased against black metal fans)

Matt. His solos SOUND better to me. They are also faster. Plus he plays while singing which has always impressed me.

I can play trivium stuff and sing at the same time, I can for any band.

But ive found that coreys solos are much more technical, and the style is clearly different than matts. Ive learned just about all of them. Matts normally sound better and are more in your face, but coreys are a bitch to learn.

Like light to the flies for example, the first solo is corey's and I find it much harder than the second one which is matts. Though matts sounds better.

Lead guitar wise, I'd say Corey. People here seem to like Matt's solos better but I prefer Corey's solos since they are more technical and more shred-like. Matt's style is more Metallica-like in my opinion. For example in Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr, the first solo is Matt's less technical solo then it goes into Corey's solo with the harmonized sweep arpreggios

I actually didn't read your post but yeah haha they are pretty much the same.

I like to listen to ascendancy when i go to sleep, it's a good cd for that.

Trivium is what got me into metal also...I used to be into punk and even...rap :(, but then i heard Like Light To The Flies and thought...that was freaking amazing! Since then Ive started to listen to more metal and hardcore and yeah...i like it.

As far as who is better Matt or Corey... I think It'd have to be Matt Heafy. I mean they are both amazing but Matt's solo on Like light to Flies is faster and i just seem to like it better BUT I think Corey can shred better than Mattand he's a little more technical, like on Pull Harder...I think theyre best song is Dying in your arms probably becasue i can play all of itbecuase all their other solos are really fast and...im not =/ but yeah...Trivium is amazing, hence the username ;)

I hate dying in your arms, so dumb, it's the black sheep of the album, I'm not gonna call it a filler, cause i don't think it is, but it just sounds nothing like them.

oh ok, My Fav song off of ascendancy has to Drowned and torn asunder, and My fave off of ETI has to be either my hatred or when all the light dies.

I've heard a lot of good things about this band, and i have wanted to check them out a lot time ago, but i always forget it. Now that im listening your comments im eager of checking them out. Im downloading some of their songs tight now to check them out. Hopefully i'll like them. Wish me luck :thumb:

Is this band any good? Im really into metal, is Trivium more into the metal side of rock or is it, no offense to anyone, like that screamo **** thats plastured everywhere? My friend recomends them, but hes known to like crap from time to time. So I would like an honest opinion, and an album recomendation would be nice as well. Are they along the lines of Lamb of God and Shadows Fall, or are they totally different? thanks
