Dammit (Dude Ranch)
Anthem (Enema of the State)
Click Lips (Dude Ranch)

Yet this all depends on each musician's ability. For example, are you guys JUST starting out? A lot of guitarists who just picked up the guitar would have some problems learning the picking to Stay Together for The Kids, also the drumming from Enema of the State and on is a little intense due to Travis Barker.

Anyway, I would try those three I listed, see how it works out.

GuitarHarry 05-01-2005 10:56 PM

yes we are Just starting out. tnx for the info :thumb:

No problem, and good luck with the band :D
I don't know what happened, but many pop-punk bands randomly went mature and more in serious. I blame it on the new fad "emo", once that hit it big and escaped the underground, music went to hell literally. The bright sunny music of the 90's was replaced with pain, suffering, tears..... basically a bunch of bands complainning.

I'm hoping for a third wave of pop-punk to hit that's actually pop-punk... An up-beat, fun, immature, version of punk.
Seriously, I miss the mid and late 90's so much. :upset:

It wasn't so much about being immature, it was more about just loving life, that's what was so great about pop-punk. Blink and others were perfect examples of this.

Dunno if anyone else has thought of this, but the other day I was listening to "I'm Lost Without You" (which I love) and was kind of thinking about how it might have been kind of an indicator of what was to come. It's a really long, fairly sad and melancholy song that is themed around a troubled relationship. Also it is placed at the very end of their last CD. I was really bored at the time, but it did get me thinking, maybe they knew this was coming.

An additional piece of advice I have is to learn some relatively easy, non-blink stuff. Playing the same music a lot in front of others can annoy and anger people.

Yeah, it almost signifies the end of Blink or something. But I think it's a nice song to go out on, very sweet and thoughtful.

sam_182 05-02-2005 02:45 AM

yeh thats true

10571z 05-02-2005 02:46 AM

adams song is probably the hardest blink song for the drummer.
id go with

rock show
dammit
go
first date
wendy clear

but trust me you dont wnana be stuck into playing all blink songs try cute without the e its really easy and good if u have 2 vocalists

plaidbassbilly 05-02-2005 03:15 AM

Cute Without The E is a good song, but you'd need a good screaming person, and someone with a really emotional voice otherwise it'd sound weak. I'd personally go for an older Blink song, for less intense drumming.

10571z 05-02-2005 04:15 AM

theres no screaming in cute without the e

plaidbassbilly 05-02-2005 04:40 AM

Well then...prove me wrong why don't you...

10571z 05-02-2005 06:07 AM

wat part has screaming qoute the lyrics

well what did you think ?

ChodaBoy 05-02-2005 07:26 AM

I thought their earlier stuff was probably the best, the riffs were more complicated and lyrics were more relate-able (not a word, i know)

Firecracker 05-02-2005 07:43 AM

Dammit is their best song.
